Since I'm just starting out, and would like to be inspired to believe I can in fact follow in your footsteps, I'd love to see what the first placeable you made was.
I dreamt up my idea last night just before dozed off - a very ambitious one for a first timer, but I don't think it's quite as ambitious as Rolo's Crone.
First placeable you ever made?

The first model I made myself was a house, but it wasn't a placeable but a tile. It can be found in the Medieval City tileset. The first placeable I made was a swan bathtub for the first Custom Content Challenge.

hmmm... what i can remember is i needed a few river rocks, fallen trees and a few bush plcs for my very first adventure area. Also a retextured forest tileset with the swamp/water terrain added from CODIs daggerdale set...

The first placeable I made was a chest, following the tutorial provided on the Vault by Danmar (I think it was him). It wasn't very good, but I learned a lot from the process.

<shuddering...>
The first placeable I made the month after the Crone (who I'm proud of). It was the demonic altar of V'rax'l the Flenser. I will not provide a link to it as it still haunts me (especially with the extra-gore texture).
V'rax'l is one of the Big Baddies in Amethyst and was the subject of a 6 month PnP campaign during Operation Desert Shield - 12 players, hundreds of NPCs and the DM himself (*cough* hi *waves*) *barely* took down that demon prince.
The placeable is notable, however, for having fairly long and complex anims.

The first placeable I made would have to be the all white mat in my Map Mats followed very soon after by two coloured mats. But then again I didn't really do any proper modelling, just directly edited model files with npp. For 1 thing I could never get the export to nwn format to work for me. Probably my own stupidity rather than anything wrong with the routines.

I made a wall of stone. Just a basic box with a seamless stone texture and (with Notepad) a flat walkmesh...yes, a wall of stone you could still shoot arrows and spells through.
I didn't learn about 3D placeable .pwk files until later.
Oh, and welcome to the world of NWN custom content, Sir Adril. Here's a helpful site for you.

For about a year I learned modeling by fixing bugs in other people's creatures and placeables but never made anything of my own. Eventually it was clear that the project I was doing this for was essentially going no-where and so I decided I'd either drop NWN altogether or try to come up with a way to import models from (what was then) Google 3D Warehouse- where I had access to hundreds of thousands of models. After weeks and weeks (and weeks) of evenings spent learning how to do the conversion, I finally produced this.
If you can't tell, it's a flush toilet!
But, as the storytellers are fond of saying, "It wasn't just any old flush toilet." Not to me, anyway: It was the first placeable I created end-to-end (though in the screenshot I'd copied it over a creature appearance) and proof that I could bring any model, from anywhere, into NWN. Although I didn't make the toilet myself, knowing that I could draw on a whole world of 3D geometry convinced me to stick around and learn how to make models from scratch, animate them, etc. Most of the stuff I make is still kitbashed in one way or another, though.

This gallery displays the first set of placeables I made. They were made for what was going to be the opening area of a persistent world module that never actually got finished.
Much like OTR, I didn't actually create the models (they were grabbed from the free section on TurboSquid), but I did make them work in NWN. I've converted some other game models to work with NWN.
Welcome to our insanity

I made price tags with funny things on them. Laugh or you die, the jokes are gold.

My first and only published placeables were the wanted posters in the CCC rogues stuff, not 3D, and caused all kinds of problems for poor Rolo, but they impressed the hell out of me at the time. Fired with enthusiasm I decided the posters had to come from somewhere and made this. I really must get into this stuff again.

You guys made some awesome stuff for first tries
I figured I'd share a sneak peak of mine. So far, I have chicken cages modeled, now I just have to figure out how to start converting this stuff to a format Neverwinter Nights can handle correctly.

Looks really nice. What program are you modeling with?

If you make them part of a tile and they are big enough you could even make a walkmesh that allows the placing of some small creatures in one of the cages - though not both because you can only have one walkable part of the walkmesh above another.

That sounds like a fun little experiment to try. Thanks Zwerkules
