Nice job AD. Now as we are apparently talking about things from the dim distant past of AD&D, I remember seeing a christmas issue of Dragon from maybe 1990 that had a Snack Dragon as the main monster. It was shaped like a typical Disney dragon (ie very narrow shoulders, ridiculously small wings and a huge lower body with a pot belly. The thing that really sticks in my mind is the colour of it. This dragon was supposed to be pink and white candy striped! Now there's something you don't see every day (although I'd like to ()).
There is an "arcane space" theme up in the CCC polls.AD another thought occured to me. If you can make that snail shell big enough, its not that far a step from there to make a nautiloid spelljammer ship.
