Shepard's pathetic attempts to fight Kai Leng.

I will say exactly what I've been saying from the beginning: BioWare did too much too fast. I feel like, if they were to add Leviathan and From Ashes, they should've been included in the game since they're integral to the story somewhat. Omega and Extended Cut should've been included with the original game as well. The lack of continuity between the three games really annoyed me at times, since it seemed like the lore kept contradicting itself all the time in ME3.

The lack of screen time for the ME2 squadmates and the fact that there was no way to get ANY of them back on the Normandy. And, even though I don't particularly like her character, Miranda should've been a squadmate due to her invaluable info on Cerberus. Not seeing any of the war assets come into play during the final battle also really broke immersion as well. So I just spent 40 hours in-game collecting these things from all over the galaxy and never got to see them in action? LAME.

However, the lack of any real epic combat missions is what really got me. Before ME3 came out, I kept picturing huge battles that Sheperd gets thrown into, most of them being really tough and overwhelming fights. Instead we got a ton of "battles" that were pathetic, with little challenge at all. In terms of the visual aspect of being in a huge battle, Palaven, Rannoch, and Thessia were the best. But even then the fights were simple and were barely a challenge. Like someone said above, the only thing I liked in ME3 was the combat system, but other than that it was extremely disappointing. If they took the great story from ME1, the character development from ME2, and combined it with the improved gameplay engine of ME3, it would've been the greatest game of all time....

How about the 2D sprite loop at ground level during the prologue?

The split between Shepard's emotions and my own during the dream sequences always brought me back to the real world. It kind of annoyed me, too.

For me it was the turret. I played that sequence maybe ten minutes after I finished killing the human Reaper, so the total inability to deal with the thing understandably annoyed me.

During one of the god-awful dream sequences, I heard the ghost of Samara say "I'm sorry Shepard...it is the only way to save Falere". That playthrough, Samara died on the sucide mission so she couldn't have been there, so why was I remembering her Mass Effect 3 suicide? Slack!

Actually, they're pretty bad about remembering when characters died. During my Extended Cut death flashbacks, I saw Mordin standing outside the shroud tower, even though I'd done that particular run with him dead and Padok Wiks was the one who cured the genophage. Either change the background or change the dude, because it looks sloppy otherwise.

The Blasto movie broke immersion for me.

I just couldn't believe they'd make such a stupid movie in the actual world. It doesn't make sense.

I can't believe it got it's own comic... The worst part, (IIRC).. The comic isn't just acting either (like the movie billboard in-game) It's actually straight up Blasto in his real life..

I think Wrex gives the "let me die with honor" line from if he attacks you on the citadel, even if he died back in ME1.

Because they don't make incredibly stupid movies in real life, right?

They make bad movies in real life certainly. But a jellyfish carrying guns and beating people up flat-out does not make sense, to me anyway. Maybe if it was some sort of satire it would, but everyone else in the game seems to think it's a proper action film.

They reiterate that they're on Mars at least four times.

I entirely facepalmed at "the only thing we can, we fight or we die."

The line was so bad that it actually broke my immersion because my Shepard would never make such a stupid blanket statement at such a crucial point in time. And infront of all those people too! How embarassing...

I mean seriously, look here, the bald councilor even shakes his head at the line after she says it.

This was a real cringeworthy moment. My Shepard never would have said that. Never. Maybe this: "Jump in a couple hundred heavy cruisers and dreadnoughts and pound the crap out of them. Oh that's right you didn't build any? Silly me. Sovereign was 'Geth'. That's right. How about Frigates? You mean you didn't even replace the ones you lost at the Citadel? It's a good thing I stole that SR-2 from Cerberus, or we'd really be up **** creek. Before we all die do I at least get a 'you were right, Shepard?'"

The beginning. Funny, everything I hoped they wouldn't do they did. I remember thinking two weeks before the game came out, "I hope they don't just give us a two or three choice ending." Ahahaha! How naive. But yes the beginning when Anderson is like "God help us all." And then on Mars Liara starts thanking the goddess and mentions the convenient way to defeat the Reapers. The whole game was written with speed and ease in mind. Sometimes I really enjoy this game, and other times I remember why I have a hard time even getting through the first one anymore.

Less than 2 minutes in: "Who is this Vega guy? And why does "Shepard" know him, but "I playing SHepard the avatar" don't?

This. Particularly at Palaven: "See this devastation? Double it for Earth." :pinched:

Much of the time the autodialogue isn't too character-breaking, but I still have to make judicious use of the spacebar to stomach parts of it.

For me its how bad the hands look and the terrible hand animations, whenever Shep puts his two fingers to his ear I cringe.
