I put all the names of the guns into a hate then shuffle them around and pick 1 - 2 at random. That's how I select my gun(s).

Anyways... Just keep it light if you're flaming. (Haha! No pun intended. JIC.) I don't use heavy weapons. That's what my GI is for. I run the same as OP. Works for me.

Yeah I used to do the same, however relying on Flamer soo heavily got boring so I equipped the GPS for a few rounds. I honestly don't think I could ever go back, and that is even with weird off host shots passing straight through enemies doing no damage sometimes.
As always my only complaint is a lack of shotgun rail amps
