I was doing a sucessful platinum solo, things were going well and some guy (who is now blocked) thought it was funny to ninja join, all the equipment, everything gone.

I will be frank, I have never, ever stealth/ninja joined, ever and I expect it as a common courtesy to ASK if one can join.

I have been dced, staggered and stunlocked to death and now some less than polite person ninja joins and ruins my entire solo.

I consider myself a nice guy, good teammate and I am always willing to play with people but ninja joining is off limits. If anyone ever ninja joins on my watch again, I will block them, period. Tired of that bs.

Only if they're on your friends list

I was wondering this too.  It isn't possible on Xbox.  They can only join if set to "friends only"

If it is set to friends only someone has an option to join in session.

I don't like people joining without asking as well. I won't go as far as blocking the guy, but I don't like it.

That said, stay on the safe side next time and put yourself invisible on Origin. No more ninjas.

Was going to ask the same question, but I guess it would be so. Otherwise I couldn't see the rage .. :o

I'm curious as well. Otherwise, make sure you create a Private match, and not a public/friends only match.

It seems you can. That's quite terrible. Perhaps there is a status thing where you can put busy or something and just message your friends list and let them know that if it says you're busy that they should not join because you are soloing or something.

Unfortunately, having no exposure/experience with the PC, my solutions are limited. Sorry to hear that.

Yeah its origin BS, I thought you couldn't join except invited and thus I messed up Stardusks solo.

If I had known you could mess peoples games up by joining even though you weren't invited I had never joined that game.

I'm sorry for this BS.

If you're in a party with them on the main menu there is a 'Xbox live party' button press that and you can join their session even if it is private.

I'm pretty sure people can't join private games when your status is set on Invisible.

Anyway, first world problem, really.

I can see where this would be frustrating. Not as frustrating as stun locking geth though.

Private is Friends Only on PC. You have to go invisible to really be private, and that's really a pain.

Not an excuse. You announce, ninja join and I can't type back because a Banshee is chasing me. Thanks.

If your internet connection goes on/off, or if your Windows goes into sleep mode and back, LOLOrigin will reset your status to "Online". I think.

Maybe if a game is set to private, they should allow a 1 minute buffer for solo and a key combo that kicks all other players. like ctrl K or something. Hard to do probably, but a solution none-the-less

If I had known I could mess something up I wouldn't have joined ever. I know NOW, but that doesn't help you sadly.

You blocked a guy because you weren't smart enough to set your status to invisible?  Ok...

You might have some hilarious code of conduct you adhere to but the fact is most normal people will see you in a game and assume you are either with a group or running in a public game and try to join up.

Stop blaming others for your own stupidity.

Being invisible is the only way to go. However, sometimes you appear as online when starting the game. It's better to check twice, but I wonder that Origin is not 100% reliable on that (well, on that and thirty four things more).
