Log out and in again, tick both checkboxes.

Yes that actually DOES work, but then everytime I start Origin I logon as 'invisible'. A better option would be if I just logon as 'visible', set my status to 'invisible', quit Origin, restart next day and it would still be 'invisible'. But it doesn't since it only works when you've ticked the checkbox.

This is a great option for Stardusk though!

And his anger is fully understandable, hell you know how angry I would be if I would try to accomplish something like a platinum solo and someone just comes in and screws up my work? I would probably react the same way as he did.

LOL... you guys take this crap too seriously. If someone joined my Plat solo I'd say "You motherF***er!" and then it would all be cool again...

If you wrong someone, then apologize... and they won't accept it... I would reevaluate if that person is actually worth having as a friend. There are many more people who play ME3 out there...

I'm curious as well. Otherwise, make sure you create a Private match, and not a public/friends only match.

Private is Friends Only on PC. You have to go invisible to really be private, and that's really a pain.

That would make no sense, you usually wanna be invisible from the start...

Since winning the internet is the greatest honour ever to bestowed upon man, nothing else matters anymore. It's even a higher honour than having soloed a Platinum match (an achievement I still haven't succeeded in, and OP apparently neither).

Understandable? Yes. Irrational? Yes. He should be angry at himself, not the person he blamed it on, and certainly not at the rest of us... but hatred and anger for/at the rest of us is the only thing that explains why this thread exists...

Well, no idea how bad this is then, but even if it was wave 10 I think OP is blowing this way out of proportion. It happened, you  learned a new lesson, and you publicly apologized. Posting a thread and refusing your apology made OP look like a d*** imo.

I suspect that for the'invisible" status to take effect you have to manually restart origion. As for ninja joining, Im kinda infamous for it, but I`m reformed now, so no worries XD

OP, your reaction in light of the obvious ability to set your Origin to "Private" is a little over the top. For something you have been publicly been working on so earnestly (and I respect and share your pursuit), and for your experience with this game and it's perquisites, you normally make this precaution check.

I also agree though, that joining marches without even saying "Hi, can I join?" and waiting for a reply, is the epitome of gaming rudeness.

I was wondering this too.  It isn't possible on Xbox.  They can only join if set to "friends only"

It is possible on Xbox.  If you are in a "Xbox Party" with them, they can join even if the lobbey is set to private.

I've never had a friend that I've dropped in on, that has complained.  Neither have I ever complained when any of my 99 friends have dropped in.  There have been all of 3 times in the 3500+ games I've played where a friend who dropped in unannounced was asked to leave, and that was only because my team and I were waiting for a specific person to join, or rejoin the game after being disconnected.

You should be happy when friends want to join you.  You should feel bad for being such a **** about the guy dropping in unannounced, "ruining" your game, and then coming onto the forums to berate them - anonymously, or not.  Especially, as Sabbatine notes, since it was your own failure to set your game parameters correctly in the first place that allowed your friend to join.

You whine about the pettiest of things.
