I just liked the equating of joining a game to entering someone's house without knocking or "announcing" oneself. I always love it when people try to equate things that happen on the internet to real world situations. Do we all have to ask before posting in Stardusk's thread? Perhaps this was meant as a "view, do not post/reply" thread.

Hmm..

Blame lays squarely on the shoulders of the soloer, period.

Easy mistake to make once, especially if you don't solo much yourself. Relax peoples of the world!

Looks like us console peasants win here. Friends can only join if it's set to public or friends only in game, not when it's private. On top of that, you can set yourself to appear offline on X-Box.

Alright, let's reel it in a little. Stardusk hasn't responded to this thread in a few hours...may have rekindled the friendship for all we know.

Today's lessons:

Manage your emotions when possible (it's just a game).
&
It's not fun to be the target of a temper, but it's often nearly as unpleasant to realize you lost yours when the moment passes.

Let's not keep the wound open....

...nothing left to see here folks...

...wait, look over there. Isn't that a Phantom? C'mon let's go (away from this thread to) get it!!!....

I thought you were above this kind of thing Stardusk, but evidently you are not.
Can you solo Platinum again? Yes, I believe so.
Can you gain the 3 lost level 3-4 consumables in one or two PSPs? Yes, I believe so.
Act your age.

I was doing a sucessful platinum solo, things were going well and some guy (who is now blocked) thought it was funny to ninja join, all the equipment, everything gone.

I will be frank, I have never, ever stealth/ninja joined, ever and I expect it as a common courtesy to ASK if one can join.

I have been dced, staggered and stunlocked to death and now some less than polite person ninja joins and ruins my entire solo.

I consider myself a nice guy, good teammate and I am always willing to play with people but ninja joining is off limits. If anyone ever ninja joins on my watch again, I will block them, period. Tired of that bs.

I heard the invisible mode duration was nerfed. So you've got a free spot in your list? Friend request sent... I can sing.

Wow...
... just.. wow...
Well, Stardusk.. I guess if you wanted to air a private dispute in public, humiliate a friend, and just in general come out looking like a spoiled child, all because of a video game, you've done a bang-up job of it... but you really kind of LIKE being the center of attention and drama, don't you? You've made it abundantly clear in your many, many....many.... many-many... posts.
Hurrah for us "console peasants" that we don't have to worry about "ninja-join friends" lol. yet another of many reasons I prefer my xbox over my PC or laptop (that and the fact that console cheating seems MUCH less rampant than it is on PC, like aimbots, trainers, and other cheap tricks) and if it means one less whining brat to deal with, I'll say it again...

It is a bit rude to just pop in unannounced. I've always asked if there was an available slot before joining just out of courtesy. It wasn't until I had someone pop in during one of my solos that I realized there is also a logical reason to ask first.

Ayup. Delusional statement is delusional. Console cheating is way more prolific than PC cheating, though any evidence is purely anecdotal until we get solid numbers from a reliable source.

A friend of mine was credited with a Gold solo because she was doing a Gold duo with a friend, and he got DC'd. She was the only one in game when she extracted, she was credited with a solo(when the other person DC'd at wave 10). Extraction is all that matters, and I intend to retest that at some point. It might require a host migration, not entirely sure.

Anyway, I hope you simply tried to keep going, because it would make sense that it would just record the solo at extraction.

Seems like a lot of effort to complain about one`s own mistake.

I hope the solo  works out eventually, but I`d say the takeaway lesson is to remember to use "Sheldons Online Gaming Friend Agreement", and to change your settings before starting the game.

Yeah I will always message a person or invite them to a voice chat group before trying to join.

Depends on the Ninja.

If it's this guy.

I won't really mind.

If it's someone else.

The Gods can't help you anymore and you really should start running.

I NEVER join anyone uninvited.

If log in normally origin will set your status to online/ingame when the game starts. If you login as invisible it will stay that way.

Oops. When I opened my Origin friend's window, and the "Join Game" button appeared, I thought they were nice and invited me.

LoL not saying it's non existent... just saying it isn't as common.. I've seen what you can do as far as cheating on a console, and it doesn't even come CLOSE to how prolific and completely you can do it on a PC... there is just no comparison. It's also much more complicated on a console. Example?

google <insert game title here> xbox cheats

google <insert game title here> PC cheats

You'll see what I mean. I know there is a way to use USB cards but... just to be clear here... using these to mod your box or games doesn't just get you clipped on that game, it can get your whole profile (and all the games associated with it) banned, achievements nullified, and (in extreme cases) your box banned from xbox live entirely.
From what I've seen, programs like aim bot (that make you like Hawkeye on crack) can be made undetectable. Just one example... and it can be seen demonstrated on youtube.
Just sayin'... ;)
Anyway, back on subject.
