Seeing as I still haven't seen The Hobbit or Les Miserables, I'm just going to go with The Avengers.

I'm surprised so many people are listing The Hobbit; I'd heard it was supposed to be only mediocre.
Anyway, my favourites would have to be Lincoln and Django Unchained.

This. Yeah it wasn't perfect but neither was the original trilogy. No movie is perfect.

I didn't like the Hobbit that much tbh. Everything between the scene where the dwarves crash bilbo's party and the goblin kingdom was pretty solid, but the pacing was all screwed up, felt more like watching 7 episodes of a tv show back to back in a netflix binge than a feature length movie tbh.
Also, some scenes like the one with the dwarves stealing all of Bilbo's food and the battle in the goblin kingdom felt like they dragged on about three times as long as they needed to. The action in the Goblin scene got pretty stupid toward the end, the part where they crush the goblins with a giant boulder and that "cut the ropes" thing seemed more like quick time events from a Resident Evil game than anything you'd expect to see in a serious movie.
I thought that the goblin battle scene and that scene where they fight the orcs on the clifftop were cartoonishly over-choreographed. It was like watching that part of LOTR where Legolas slides down the staircase on a shield, except it never ends.
And finally, some of the CGI monsters they created like the Giant Eagles and the Worgen just didn't look good enough to justify giving them as much screen time as they did. They can get away with creatures that look like that if they're only on the screen for a few moments and moving quickly, but they ended up looking only a little better than the monsters you'd expect to see in a Sci Fi original movie. I really think that Guillermo Del Toro could have shot some of those scenes better, he's more likely to use animatronics. Call me a Luddite if you want, but I think the dinosaurs from the first Jurassic Park movie still look better than any creature we saw in Avatar.
