I was wondering if the in-game romances continue developing after you reach the sex scene cut-away.
I hooked up with Leliana on my first playthrough, and after we shared a bed at camp the only conversation option to suggest we were in a relationship was a line about "getting the girl" after the archdemon was defeated. And when doing random conversation starters I can tell her she's "the best thing to happen to me". Not even an option to smooch in public like Alistair and Morrigan have.
I'd like it if maybe, as periodic encounters, your romantic partner will bring up a short sidequest as a "date". Or possibly mention it during walking-around dialogue.
Do relationships go further than sex?

There is more to the romances. But there are also some "problems".
One is that you can kiss Alistair and Morrigan in public - but not Zevran and Leliana, unless you have a mod (Dialogue Tweaks).
Another is that once you have used up all the dialogue options, which happens sometimes while trying to get their approval rating high enough, there is nothing left for them to say. This is most obvious with Leliana because you have to get her rating to 100 before she will sleep with you.
However, if you kept her in your party, the other companions would talk about the relationship to her, passing comments, making jokes, and so on, when you hit the various 'conversation trigger points' in the game. And if you swap them around, you get some interesting banter.
Some characters also have particular gifts they give you to show their commitment, and so on.
It's too varied to explain the permutations quickly, but yes, there is more.
