New rules set (4th Edition would be sweet.. but who the heck owns it for CRPGs?) -

Atari.  Atari owns the D&D cRPG license until 2015 or something like that.

That said, I don't think a 4E D&D game would work for a NWN-like (or any multiplayer design) because you'd have to butcher the rules even more than they butchered previous iterations of D&D for cRPGs in order for it to work in real-time.  (Yes, that was a cumbersome way to say that, I suppose.  Suffice it to say, to even remotely do the rules justice, a 4E game would need to be turn-based.)

Actually I wouldn't a mind a R rated & single player version of "AION". Characters & Animation in that is just amazing.

Well then, forget 4th Edition.

My dream is that they're working out the kinks with single player Dragon Age and once they have a rules system they think is reasonably flawless (key word, reasonably) they'll do my NWN "3" Toolset, DM/Player Log In, Dragon Age ruleset game.

I don't care what they call it by the way. Dragon Age: Persistant Worlds Expansion Pack sounds fine to me. Don't even give me a single player campaign.. I would pay 50 bucks for a - solid ruleset

-Toolset as streamlined and easy to use as NWN - DM/Player Log In - and persistant world server support.
