So, there is this poll on the Rotten Tomatoes site for the Razzie awards: Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel of 2012.

Here is the site to vote:

http://www.rottentom...-off_or_sequel/

Here are the choices:

Alex Cross
Atlas Shrugged: Part II
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance
Piranha 3-DD
Red Dawn
Resident Evil 5: Retribution
Silent Hill: Revelation 3-D
Step Up 4: Revolution
Taken 2
The Three Stooges
Total Recall
Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2
Tyler Perry's Madea's Witless Protection
Underworld: Awakening
Wrath of the Titans

I, honestly, can't make up my mind on some of these. I'm down between choosing Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Red Dawn, or Twilight. I might just hear from you guys.

I'd go with;
Total Recall (lacks EVERYTHING that made the original so great
The Three Stooges ( I love the Stooges but there is NO WAY to recapture that magic again)
Tyler Perry movies are cookie cutter. I respect him as a filmmaker for doing his own thing and showing black movies can be made without going "gangsta" and playing to stereotypes but his movies are all the same. I will say as much as I'm fed up with Denise Richards (the original Barbie doll), she was tolerable in this one.
That said, Tyler Perry can't act worth a plug nickel. Alex Cross gets the nod.

I still like Red Dawn, even the remake. Rather than remakes, I wish (whether in print, webseries, games) that universe would be explored further.  Imagine the DLC COD MW3 or BF3 that could have made for a Red Dawn campaign. Homefront was ok and I hope the followup improves on the first one.

Atlas Shrugged: Part II

Why can't I vote for all parts?

Piranha 3-DD

Seriously though, this gets my vote. Wasn't even bad in a funny way.

Well, I hate the first Taken movie with a passion, so there wasn't any chance I'd go see the sequel. But for it's wretched existence alone it gets my vote.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, hands down. I'm really flexible and forgiving when it comes to low budget flicks but that movie was pure <Censored>. and that's all I have to contribute.

I'm calling it now, Twilight will win.

Full disclosure: I cheated.

http://www.darkhoriz...worst-film-poll

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance - Had moments of brilliance completely undermined by a predictable overused plot.

Red Dawn - Completely unnecessary, it was a film that worked because of the Cold War era, and is pointless in the modern world.

Resident Evil 5: Retribution - Bordering on nonsensical, it was a walkthrough of the past movies tossing in characters that had no place being in the movie. Not only did it kill the storyline that the last movie successfully setup, which actually had potential, it just completely retconned the last movie out of existance.

Total Recall - Wasn't bad, nice acknowledgements of the previous movie, faltered slightly at the end but I wouldn't say it was a bad movie.

Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 - "It's all a dream!", really? We haven't moved past the 1980's yet?

Underworld: Awakening - Someone should've stopped at "Pregnant vampire" and found a writer who hadn't been reading Twilight. Either that, or the guy who approved it should've been fired. Either way, they took a franchise with enourmous potential, looked at it, and said "We have a female vampire too, how can we make it more like Twilight?".

Wrath of the Titans - Plot holes so big the Titan really should've just been able to walk through them and survive. Maybe the Titans did win, maybe that script was their second wave of attack against humanity.

It's not really a surprise that twilight wins, since hating it is so cool. I just think the movies are hilarious (seen them all). Though, the third one was not even bad-funny. Except I think there was a bit at the end where someone was bitten on their thumb and it had massive overacting like UGAAAAH MY THUUU-UUUUMB WAHHHH. But as a sequel breaking dawn pt. 2 was actually better than the first part, might even be best of the whole lot, so even if the movie is utter **** and does the stupidest of cliches, I don't think voting for it would be that fair.

So my vote goes to Piranha 3DD

That's because the vampire venom causes excruciating pain.

Anyway, I know it's supposed to be cool to hate on anything Twilight, but that movie certainly wouldn't get my vote for worst of the year. As far as that franchise goes, it most definitely wasn't the worst of the lot (and the "Oh it was all a dream" thing was, IMO, not actually that bad, since it was a vision of what the future would be if the bad guys had acted in a certain way).

Nah, there are movies on that list that I wouldn't even have entertained the notion of seeing, since they looked so pathetically bad. Piranha 3-DD being one of them. And the trailer I saw for The Three Stooges made certain I wouldn't set foot in a theater showing that one.

My 2 cents.

Gatt9 you're aware that Underworld had a pregnant vampire all the way back in the first film right?

The first Twilight movie was so painful for me to watch that I couldn't finish. I'm not saying that because it's cool to hate it. Just not in the target audience I guess.

I completely agree with you that the new Piranha looked pathetically bad. I watched it because my neighbors were having a party and I just picked some movie to watch. It was horrible, but it was still better than listening to a room full of drunken idiots playing poor music.

Let me just confirm for you that yes, Piranha 3D DD was awful, in case I haven't said it enough times already and someone missed it :)

I actually liked Total Recall, but it is an unpardonable sin that they failed to include the line:

"Get ya ass to Mars!"

I'd say they crossed that border about 20 minutes in.

Definitely the worst movie I watched during 2012. It opens with a pointless, droning speech where Milla Jovovich looks directly into the camera and tries to summarize the plot of all four previous movies. I thought to myself, am I watching a movie or a weekly drama series?

The rest of the film consists of Milla Jovovich shooting machine guns, with some cameos of actors from the previous movies. The plot made absolutely no sense, and none of the characters were even remotely interesting.

If you count DERP! If only they counted video games... The WarZ is REALLY bad. Do you think it's not a rip-off, despite it being remarkably bad? Think again.

Any reason why people go watching a movie in a genre they dislike, then they start whining about the movie?

Kinda liked the new Ghost Rider. It didn't ****** me off, had some cool scenes, & did what it set out to do. Dragged on abit. Admittedly there are better films that have almost exactly the same plot & characters.

Probably have to pick the new Underworld movie, just becuase of that annoying trailer. Loved the first film, but I've disliked every sequal so my hate isn't completely unbased. Derpett "they've bred a Lycan with the biggest nose I've ever seen!", seriously, thats what the series led to? A big bad wolf who's bigger than the other big bad wolves.

I haven't seen any of the movies on that list so I choose The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-Man as the worst remake or sequel of this year

I'd agree, those were both pretty bad, particularly Amazing Spider-Man, but Resident Evil Retribution was one of the worst movies I've seen in years.

My husband loved The Dark Knight Rises. I absolutely hated it.

In fact, it would have been better with Freestyle Bane (which is sad). What a stupid character. And a stupid movie. Image IPB

I haven't seen many of the movies in the list.

Lolololo  Bane, awesome!

I thought it was meh. I was interested in the Tom Hardy's Bane, it's actually the one thing that kept me going through that film, after 3 hours I lost interest. And then the ending :pinched: I just facepalmed.
