How many of you are getting Mass Effect 2?
I am interested to see the directing it takes in comparison to the first game. Maybe it will give an idea how DA:O will move in it's sequel.
Though the two games are quite different they share some similar themes. I think any Dragon Age fan would enjoy ME and vice versa.
So who else is excited about it?
Oh! I preordered my copy from Amazon. You get a cool item if you do. Armor that acts as a human lie detector...Neat.
DA players getting Mass Effect 2?

Me!
Yes I'm excited about it, playing through another game (in between DA of course) ready for the release, it's on pre-order so should be here the morning it comes out, unfortunately I have to work.
If I'm honest not as excited about this as I was DA but I waited longer for DA so not suprising really.
Just dying to see where they've taken Shep's story, wondering about new characters and old ones, *sigh* don't think Kaiden is coming back which many will be pleased about but I actually liked him

xbox, I played ME1 on PC first and I have to say I prefer it on xbox, I think you can really tell it was designed for console and the way the radial thingie worked on PC didn't make sense so it'll def be xbox for me!

I was actually playing ME1 today, and I'm really looking forward to the sequel. Already pre-ordered it, and holding my breath!

Hmm. Well, I was curious which love arc they decided to go with. It looks like neither from what I gather from trailers.
The new team of renegades look cool in a way, but if it turns lame it will just start reminding me of old A-Team episodes. lol
Also I wonder if deciding to save or leave the council effects the story or if there was just a generic ending decided upon...

I'm pretty sure (think I read somewhere) that the coucil thing would carry through, love to see how though, I have a couple of each ending saved so I can see the difference.
I think Ashley will be in it in some form, her voice is listed on IMDB but no Kaiden, of course I tended to choose against her so *shrug* who knows?

It was ME1 that turned me on to bioware games. I never would have tried DA:O if I had not fallen in love with ME. I tend to get a game and completely obsess over it, I play back to back playthroughs 8 or 9 times. When I found out ME would have a sequal I was thrilled and have been waiting excitedly ever since. I got DA:O to fill the time gap not expecting much and was I ever pleasantly surprised I like DA:O better than ME1. I am definitely getting ME2

I am getting it!
I planned on playing ME1 again before the sequel comes out, but I keep getting distracted by Dragon Age. *falls over*
I liked Mass Effect, but I've always been more of a fan of traditional fantasy.
...I just hope Jacob doesn't end up as the only hetero romance option for female Shepard. T__T Or I will be sad. I'd rather have Kaidan appear somehow, and I didn't even like him that much.

Oh, most definitely getting ME2. I have the collector's edition on pre-order. ME1 has (IMO) the best RPG story I've experienced to date. Not knocking DAO though which has an outstanding story too.

I'll definitely be getting it. I just finished another playthrough of ME1 to give me some character import options. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the decisions made in the first game reflect in ME2 and I'm also very curious to see what Bioware are taking to be canon (if they are at all, it's to be a trilogy so I'd expect to be able to take a single character through all 3 games! Can't wait!).

sure! i think it's safe to say most people who enjoyed dragon age are going to get ME2.
despite the fact that ME focuses more on cinematic experience and of course action i think the gameplay is quite similar - you'd be silly not to try ME2 if you liked dragon age and even more so if you played ME1

Mass Effect was good overall -- with ups and downs -- downs due to minimal attention to detail and lack of detail (its a typical Bioware product).
I am very likely to buy Mass Effect 2 (depending on DRM).

I've the same problem. I got ME for Christmas, just after I finished my first playthrough with DA:O. I've played the intro, the Citadel segment and I've even found Liara T'Soni, then I decided that doing a second DA:O would have been better, and ME was put on hold. Pity, 'cause I was liking the story and (some of) the characters - I was totally dreading the combat system, though, DA:O is much, much, much, much, much better in this regard, at least for my tastes -, but DA:O's atmosphere is better, always imho, and I've more a fantasy fan than a sci-fi buff. However, I plan to finish it and get the sequel as well, maybe as a stopgap until Awakening comes out

You bet.
I've had the Collectors Edition pre-ordered for two months; it's going to be awesome. It's a shame the PC never got a Mass Effect 1 Collectors' Edition, but it's nice to see Bioware fully supporting ME2 for PC. Can't wait.

I would have liked to, but I was never able to get ME1 to work on Vista, just a black endless loading screen, after waiting ages I gave up on a patch to get it to work.
A real shame as it looked really good.

Even though I like fantasy more then sci-fi, the original ME was quite nice, so of course I'll buy ME2 as well. Even finished a ME1 "Renegade" playthrough these days, so that I've two import options available. ME2 could bridge the time until DA:O Awakening nicely, those small DLC pieces like Warden's Keep or the (ever delayed) RtO can't do that.

They're using a disc check, like DA:O. No online activations this time around.
