My eyeballs can't take hunter mode but when I tried to figure out a spec I liked without it it just wasn't worth it on the GI (the damage gimp was too much) so I just don't play the little guy at all. I hope in the next ME multiplayer, BW considers the potential eyestrain on that one. biower pls

If you want a sniper build you can go 6/5/3/6/6 or 6/6/0/6/6 but if you want a non sniper build you want the accuracy and fire rate from hunter mode.

I used to run with a no-hunter mode GI. Hunter mode used to give me headaches. However recently I have respecced and now I run with 6 points in HM.

I left Hunter Mode out because it gives me headaches
Me and my friends survived 200 waves with him and now he's done (I was using the Falcon so precise sighting wasn't needed)

Because the Salarian Infiltrator doesn't count towards machine mastery and neither does his proxy mine....

then why not play a salarian, or something that does not need a passive power like such? I understand but it is in most cases worth it over the "eye" strain it can cause, you have to select your map right with them it's obvious don't play GHM on the two "hazard" maps that involve sight block (Dagger/White) 

if you're seeking the challenge do the quarians... whom all themselves are fairly capable too

Yes, I along with many people cant stand the eyesore visuals hunter mode forces upon you.

You can use the mod designed to reduce glare from the hunter mode overlay

I never use HM. I'll play one match with it, get a headache and end up having to turn off the game for a few hours. Have tried adjusting the brightness and everything and I still get a headache so now, to save myself the hassle and the pain, I don't bother with HM at all.

Before the (relatively recent) release of the Quarian Marksman, it was impossible to complete Machine Mastery without doing at least one of the Geth challenges.

However, even now it's not necessary to play a Geth, doing 200 waves with a Geth Infiltrator (plus his Proximity Mine challenge) without Hunter Mode is much quicker and easier than doing 200 waves each with 2 Quarians.
