I think they timed it well bringing in the new challenge system as that's really got me back into playing and there are good people out there just takes a while to find them.

Anyway...on topic...

I still play ME3 MP because...well I love it. It also happens to be one of the few games I'm actually good at that is MP other than L4D2 or GoW3.

I play it, because I can't play SP ever again after my first playthrough months ago. If it weren't for the MP, this game would have been by far the shortest ME-experience for me and I would have shelved it months ago.

Now, it's mostly the people I met during MP that keeps me playing.

first i hated the idea of ME multiplayer but then i played the demo and liked it. when the game came out i played nothing else because of the character import bug in single player.

I wasn't thrilled with it at first because of bad online game experiences, but I warmed up to the idea and I also needed my galaxy at war percentage higher then the given 50%. So I succumbed to the the temptation, and I loved it:devil:!

Its just so satisfying to hear biotic explosions, i really love them. Also there is a huge range of characters that if i am bored from one i can switch to another and problem solved.

It's fun. And I want a maxed manifest so that I can have a massive e-peen like everyone else. But, it is quite fun and it has me hooked. Just all the new things that they added to it, it's really awesome. Plus, one of the main things I love about the game is the ability to play as almost any race in the known mass effect universe.

Mass Effect 2 was the best overall IMO.

As much as people complain, bioware has done a lot of attending to multiplayer. They keep adding more content, and there's so much variety with how you can play that it still isn't stale. There's also this forum, for me, that's kept me interested. There's a strangely social aspect to playing this game (ironic coming from someone who doesn't own a mic), and I don't really see this getting old any time soon.

Imagine they spent maybe millions on this title and you just refuse to play the story part because of this thing.

It totally annoyed the hell out of me, too. That wasn't funny.

I second this. 
Mass Effect 2 was the best overall IMO.

While i second the "play ME1 and 2" comment, ME2 felt like i was a social worker at times (them loyalty missions with daddy issues...) and for me lacked the epic wind ME1 and ME3 have, with a few exceptions. It was a real improvement in terms of actual gameplay though, since we had like 2 or 3 maps colored in different fashion for all of ME1...


On topic: i play because i have fun. And i have fun mostly because i haven't figured out the game, still learning bits and pieces though at a slower pace than when i started. I'm also quite the minmaxer (rpg games...), so i can (and like to) ponder for some time over my spec and loadout in this fashion:

- Hmmm... should i put this point here and gain 10hp, or there and gain 10 dmg
- and if i pick that, how do i deal with this situation... hmmmm

I wish ME3 MP had more spec options (6-6-6-5-3 isn't much of an excruciating choice) somehow, but that's already enough to keep me thinking.

I mostly play due to the community of friends I have and to take a break from the rage/competitive aspect of other games. This game is fun, I throughly enjoy it, but I have to wonder enventually, when my friends are going to stop gaming. I know that I'll keep up at it, since it's my personal hobby, but still.

When I started playing MP it was after I had finished the entire SP campaign. I expected it to suck, but was soon drawn in so that I'm now addicted. [in hushed voice - I actually think it's better than SP ].

The Co-op game play is what does it for me. I'm an average shooter gamer ( I traditionally hit top only in racing games ), so versus games just mean I get pummelled by ellite players. But in ME Co-op I can still have fun, and play my part without being Rambo.

I've progressed through Bronze to Gold where I can currently only play two characters, so my next objective is to be able to play more characters in Gold, and unlock better weapons, and improve my scores, and...., and....

you get the picture!
