I do think that Liara was a little too "here's your LI" shoved at us, but not worse than, Miranda or Thane.

I am surprised no one mentioned Jack yet. Most of the ME2 LIs were badly short changed compared to Liara ans Jack like Tali had a very good friend to lover or in Jack's case, lust to love progression.

Miranda and Thane have more redeeming qualities about them, more so than Liara at least.

An Jack's not all that bad,  she's just very cliched example of "Defrosting an Aplha Beech" trope

I think you have Jack confused for Miranda.

Well. allright, she was a Phsycopatic Alpha Beetch, but still the trope applies to her

I just found your hypocrisy funny.

Allright, man. Life talk 101.
Opinions are based on facts.
Fact 1 - Liara takes the least amount of time and dialogue to romance and is okay with going for threesome in ME1.
Fact 2 - Liara is always assumed to be Shepard's BFF no matter how you act towards her in any of the games
Fact 3 - Liara is the poster LI for ME games, receiving the most attention and romance scenes from the devs.
Fact 4 - Liara's transition from ME1 to ME2 is disjointed and poorly executed. She never showed her vicious propertlies in the first game.

Fact 1 - They all take only a few talks to romance - hardly reminiscent of a real relationship. The threesome thing irks me as well.
Fact 2 - So is Garrus.
Fact 3 - The most popular character gets the most content. I'm not saying I agree with that practice, but it's what they've done.
Fact 4 - Very arguable.

Just because your opinion is based on a fact doesn't mean that everyone adheres to it.

In my opinion Liara is the better LI for Shepard she has more time with shepard than any other LI plus she saved Shepard from the Shadow Broker that is commitment..

But if you don't like Liara or an alien romance I would go with Ashley some might not like it but she seems more like a strong willed woman and who doesn't like that

ME1 Liara
ME2 Tali (if you have Shadow Broker DLC then Liara)
ME3 Tali (you can try Traynor for lulz)

@GT
I hate that gif so much. You can find better ones or I can make you one with pole.

On #3 The most "popular" might only be because people chose her from ME1 knowing that going into future ME games she's the defacto LI?

Don't get me wrong, I thought they did a rather bang up job on her, considering the limitations, but I do agree that her character's romance felt a little forced.

1 - The thing is, they are all poorly written LI's in ME1! Ash is supposed to be this renegade optional LI for Shepard but she just comes off as a racist redneck hillbilly and the accent doesn't help, not what BW intended.
Kaidan is kaidan, you get the idea. Still,  Liara literally proclaims in her first line of dialogue on the Ship "Oh Shepard, we have a special connection!" Even Kaidan takes his time more so than she does.

2 Garrus naturally developed because he wasn't LI in the first game, the same goes for Tali and they all have g enuine emotional moments in all games. (bro moments with Garrus)

3 Very arguable that she is the most popular in the community, even if that was true, she still was absent for the most part of ME2. doesn't add up (she had a romance DLC though)

4 I have nothing to add

Oh I agree, there are points where her position would be better filled the by player's LI. Or, if there is none, EDI. After the dream sequence for example.

I've also thought it'd be better with a pole. Make one, and I'll use it, I promise.

Never asked anyone to adhere it. Everyone else his/her own perspective. Understandable.
However, *Inhales*
doesn't necessarily mean it's a legitiamate, decent opinion.

Example: saying that you like Justin Biever and R. Black for their unique vocal talents.
Personal opinion? Yes.
Very stupid opinion? Yes

Ashley's romance suffers from the Virmire Survivor syndrome.
It is as if the writers did not want to put in any real effort as either one could be blown to bits on Virmire.

To make up for this, they bimbofied Ashley (boob job and botox does wonders to one's sexual alure I hear) and made Kaiden more "emo".

Then leave it right there, and move the hell on. When it comes to things like music and video games, "stupid" is relative.

I just completed an imported Liaramance with a FShep. Her romance felt awkward because there wasn't much extra dialogue, even during the capsule scene or after Thessia. I felt as if Liara was keeping me at arm's length right up until Cronos. The romance is excellent from that point on, however.

Well i don't exactly know you as an individual person so can't really tell much about that.
But solely on the pretense of you fanboyingly saying that Liara is the best written LI (which she is not, beacause explanation) I'd say you're definitely not getting plus points.

One thing that definitely didn't work for me (romance-wise) with ME3 was how they balanced people importing relationships with those starting new ones. I get it's expensive/time consuming to have two paths, but having imported-relationships go on the same path meant the pacing was really terrible as you're largely left with the same experience as someone starting new except for some minor dialogue changes.

I guess I should amend that - I'm not sure how much that is true of Tali's romance (or Garrus/Kaidan for female Shepards), but it was definitely problematic for Liara (especially if you've romanced her across all three games) and Ashley (largely because instead of making up for lost time you basically...continue to not be able to talk with her) for me.

Liara - well, you know how much attention and content she got. at least you won't be disappointed in anything.

Miranda - Planed for a dramatic story that Shepard love interest die? go for this one. Her death scene
(romance) is even better than her normal romance (which just lame if you asked me...).

Allllriiighty then, please do enlighten me, who you Rea-hea-hea-eally think has the best writtenly executed romance in ME series.
