I have a xbox 360 and I don't want to buy the new xbox when it comes just for a game
I really hope it also comes to the current consoles! What do you think?

I hope not - I prefer the game to use modern features that make it look good, like tesselation and physics simulation. PCs and next-gen consoles can handle that, but not consoles that are nearly a decade old.

If you don't want to buy a new console, get the PC version.

I'll take a game with solid gameplay and a great story over fancy schmancy graphics and realistic physics any day. Crysis might look good, but that's about all anybody sings its praises for.

Gameplay and story are the most important, yes But that's no reason to hold back on the other aspects and let yourself be held back by the limitations of the technology used in antiquated consoles.

You're right, that is no reason.

The $500 for a new console or the $800 required for a new gaming PC rig are. So... just to ahead and mail me that check and I'll get right on that. Thanks!

I hope so...

I would hate to see DA3 being held back by outdated technology from an end-of-cycle console generation.

But knowing EA I am afraid it will be so...

I'm saving up some money every month to get myself an Xbox720 in case DA3 ends up on there. Kinda hope it doesn't though.

Holiday 2012 to Spring 2014? A year and a half dev cycle? No one would be crazy enough to try and put out a AAA level game in that short of time span. It would be total crap.

AC3 came out a year after Revelation.

Except AC3 had been in development since 2009, shortly following AC2's release. The team that worked on Brotherhood and Revelations isn't the same team that worked on AC3, either.

You're thinking way too expensive. Just plug a cheap DX11 card in your current rig and that should be enough to play it - not on the highest settings but still better looking than those consoles.

See, I will never understand why pc gamers make THIS type of suggestion. You didn't even ask what kind of hardware he was working with. What if the mobo of his current pc isn't compatible with a Direct x 11 G-card? Are you now going to suggest a new mobo? and what if that's not compatible with his power supply, fans, ram, processor or hard drive, are you going to make suggestions for those too? Oh I could go on all day but we're already up to about 1300 dollar and I'm guessing you aren't willing to come out the pocket.

Really, so tell me everything you know about the next Halo game.

Yeah, that's right.

What's right? Do you even have a point? The studio making new Halo games didn't have Halo 5 or any other Halo games in development concurrently with Halo 4. They didn't know if Halo 4 was going to be a flop or not so why would they have been developing its sequel concurrently?

What's right is that we don't know anything (including what you just said), so all these assumptions about what's not going to happen are foolish. I never said it would happen but you guys don't have enough appreciation for the uncertainty in these things.

I always find this issue of buying a new console sort of odd. If you are a console gamer, it is not like this is a surprise. This generation is ancient and people have been anxiously anticipating the next-gen hardware from both Sony and Microsoft for the past 2 years. The next generation of hardware has been a long time coming, so I am not sure why people are being so caught off guard by this.

I understand people not wanting to spend money, but this is the hobby and keeping up with new hardware and software is very much a requisite of staying current (if you want to play old snes games, then its not a requisite). It is an inevitability and has been this way for the past 25 years.

But what I said about Halo is correct. 343 has said as much themselves, and the company is only 300 employees large. They don't have the manpower to make 2 Halo games concurrently.

Well, whatever. They also said they were working on it since before Halo 4 launched, and Jimmy's initial point was overreaching anyway, AC3 was just a flawed example that was the first one that came to mind.

That made me lol.  (edited to point)

Industry is so ****ed up that such is true.  ...To an extent that is.

Actually, I can guarantee you they weren't waiting to make sure Halo 4 was successful.  343's entire existence is simply to keep the halo train rolling.  Enen if Halo 4 was a hitch in the ride they would keep rolling forward.  And I can also guarantee you they are and have been working on the technology they will be using for the next console for some time by now.

The issue is not having to buy a new console, but buying a new console, accessories and the game all at the same time. People want to play the game as soon as it comes out naturally, not have to wait to get one or the other set up, but with over 150 days till the e3 announcement there is no excuse to not start saving now.

Nobody buys a new console and doesn't immediately get at least 1 game to go with it... <_<

Yeah, but in the case of the PS3 and the 360, they came with some pretty uninteresting games. Safe to say, DA3, if it does match up in some crazy scheduling way to be a next gen console release, won't be one of the games bundled in with either console.

If it will be next gen only, how will we import our data? :/

USB Flash drive.
Cloud Storage
System-to-system usb cable

There are plenty of options, I'm sure the DA devs have already been planning on this (if they intend to release on the next gen)

Or they could just forgo the save import feature.

Hear that Jimmy? Next gen DA3 could rule out save imports! What say you?!
