If all the recent swooning I've seen over Richard Armitage is any indication, it is indeed possible to have dwarves that are attractive yet "typical" of the fantasy dwarf.

Varric is very mature, and I think it's very possible to create a mature looking female dwarf, with the right voice actor and character design.
Don't think anyone assumed Branka or Kalah to be a kid.

Sure, why not. I imagine there are people who would appreciate a dwarven LI for their protagonist.

They only look like a child if that's how your mind works and thinks. I don't see them as children one bit.
Hey hey, no need to imply what I think you're implying. Even their own creator has acknowleged they seem child like, but you bask in self-denial if it makes you happy.
Dwarves come from Germanic mythology (mostly Norse, but also Anglo-Saxon and so forth). They are based on the Faerie stories of the Scandinavian peoples.

Oh yeah, I wasn't saying that there aren't already examples of mature female dwarves in DA:O. Varric was an easy example because he was a party member, while I can see how some people could say that Sigrun seemed young.

No thanks, their stature is too child like for my taste.
This is actually why I don't see much appeal elves. Short (which is apparently what clinches it for you), no muscle density (like children), lacking in any real maculinity (male) or curvature (female). Their men cannot even grow beards, like PREPUBESCENT MALES. If anything is 'too child' I would've put all my money on elves. All of it. Also my house.
The dwarves? Their men are stouter and squarer than humans and have full-on braidable beards (many human guys can barely get their scruff on), their women curvier and fuller than humans. The men's voices are gravelly, the women's deep and husky. I'm not seeing the 'child' thing just because their LIMBS are a little bit shorter. Seriously...

Felsi as well - I mean Oghren didn't end up wanting to be with her, so I'd be more than happy to help her out...

I haven't played Awakening so I can't comment much on Sigrun, but her default appearance actually looks older than she sounds.

Sigrun has a weathered look, but is still attractive.

Three things:
1) Varric's chest hair is the result of the favor of the Ancestors.
2) He is sadly committed to Bianca the Dwarf -- who looks astonishing, btw.
3) Where did you get that awesome gif of that woman that's your avatar?
Only if it's this guy
That's Oghren when we next see him.

If she shows up again, I hope she has longer hair. I loved Sigrun, but I wasn't a fan of her having short hair. Don't know why.
I dunno, I just think she'd look amazing with longer hair.
