What is it about romancing a dwarf that is so inferior to romancing an elf or a qunari?

The power of Richard Armitage has softened even the hardest of hearts.
Nu-uh. He obviously realized the superiority of Fili.
Fili is awesome. He looks like a Dwarf version of Jack Sparrow.

I'm not really clear what you're getting at though. Because we'd romance a dwarf as a human (or elf) it's weirder than if we were to as a dwarf? Or are you teasing because more of the people here would romance a darkspawn if it had an attractive face?
I wonder if they'll make a dwarf a DLC companion...as long as he/she is unimportant in a way similar to Sebastian or Shale than I'd be fine with that.

bit of both m8, just a personnal thing tbh, on my dwarf play throughs in DA:O he/she never romanced anyone(unless you call the wee woman in the dwarf noble origin a romance), i tried but just found it wierd, its why when i played awakenings i was a rather sad dwarf that sigrun wasnt available lol wouldve loved running away to the deep roads with her

Well, speaking out of personal taste, having to set up a stepladder or kneel in the dirt every time I want to kiss my partner just seems like more trouble than it's worth.Dhiro wrote...

Dating someone waist-high has one very specific advantage, and I'm not sure it makes up for the logistical problems that would occur in almost every other romantic situation.

I think a dwarf could work, but it would be more difficult to get the look and personality right for most people. IMO, 90% of dwarves are rather ugly physically and have a rather boring/rude personality.
However, Varric would have been a much preferred romance option over either either Moody(Anders) or Broody(Fenris). I can't bring myself to playthrough a romance with those two. I am not sure I have met a female dwarf that I would have romanced over the other options available. I think personally I just find round faces unattractive.

Putting a naked lady on or near a thing doesn't automatically make that thing sexy. There's still the very un-sexy issue of the height disparity. Unless he plans to ride around on her shoulders?MaggieSh wrote...

Also, I wouldn't find his face attractive at any height. Just sayin'.

Seems slightly insulting to compare people with dwarfism to fictional dwarves.

@Plaintiff, there's no accounting for your taste, I guess. I wasn't so much posting the picture for the woman making him sexy, as him being sexy on his own. He's got a following larger than several tall men. But seriously, I don't get what it is with you and height. I've dated short guys, and I don't have a problem bowing a bit to kiss my SO. I mean, guys are always bending over to kiss their girls? You just seem very close minded on this topic.

Unless someone have prejudice against dwarffism there's nothing wrong what comparing him to fictionnal dwarf. I'm pretty sure Peter is a very confident person and he would just laugh it up.
Has for pleintiff... Man good thing you're not a tall basketball player.. Sorry hon can't love you... You're too small.
You're making your pool very small lol. That's a very superficial way of thinking. You would not believe all the thing you miss. You could miss the love of your life for a couple of inch. anyway.

There's a difference between simply being short and having the actual medical condition of dwarfism. If I was inclined to kiss Peter Dinklage, I wouldn't just be leaning down slightly. I'd be bending at a right angle.MaggieSh wrote...

But you're free to find him sexy. I'm sure his wife does, and it probably isn't an issue for her at all. Everybody has their dealbreakers.

My wife can lose as many limbs as she wants, provided she grows a penis and the parts of her that are still attached become biologically male.Suprez30 wrote...

What if your wife lose her leg in a car accident ? Would you drop her because she's too small ?

And the option to bend your knees instead of your waist...that's just not present? You wouldn't be at an angle then.
But question: If there WAS a dwarf LI, male or female, and they had one of the best personalities, you still wouldn't romance them? Because they're a dwarf? Because for me, the LI's personality is more of a factor than their race/appearance.

You had no need to clarify this but ... okay than? Anyway . You're who you're. People who are similiar end up together. So there's someone for everyone.

The DA dwarves don't really look like Peter Dinklage or people with dwarfism though. And I don't recall him ever playing a norse-style dwarf.
Not sure he'd care, but it is like claiming that all slim people are elves.

I would not enter into a relationship with an extremely short person. If I am already in love and invested in the relationship when my spouse suffers a horrible height-reducing accident, that's an entirely different situation.
