What is the more paragon choice for the Citadel: Schells The Gambler assignment?  I know that the player does not get paragon or renegade points from the quest, but it seems a bit odd.

There is no way to complete the quest without chosing the option to accept the device, which is located in the southeast part of the wheel, normally reserved for renegade or renegadish responses.

So which is the more paragon option:  Give Doran the device or just tell Schells that Shepard will not take part?  Giving Doran the device might lead Schells to drop his hobby of developing a cheat device, but you have to trick him with the southeast wheel choice.

Edit:  If you take the device to Doran, you might stop Schells from corrupting (or further corrupting) more people though.  C-Sec might eventually arrest him if he becomes too big of a problem also.

I am leaning towards finishing the quest by giving Doran the device, but not completely certain.

I think the more paragon route would be to refuse to help Schells. However, the more enjoyable route is to test it, win some coin and then give the device back to Schells. Doran is a sleazy casino owner anyway.

I tend to give it Doran, because I like it when Schell's asks what he's going to do, that Kaidan tells him to get a job.  As far as Doran being a "sleazy" casino owner, if you don't want to lose money in the casino, it's easy don't play.  Just go to watch your romantic entanglement dance.  Also considering that the quasar odds don't favor the house, how is that sleazy?  I guess they make it up on the drink markups :D

I decided to give the device to Doran. My reasoning as to why this paragon Shepard decided to do this (out of the options given in the game) was his hope that this action would help Schells reform and get out of the business of trying to sell cheat devices and do something more productive and legal. I had Garrus in the squad and he spoke about Schells putting his talents to better use which fit along these lines.

The only issue with this is that quest seems to be built to lead the player to either side with Doran or Schells rather than trying to convince Schells to mend his ways.

Giving the device to Doran prevents, or at least delays, an outbreak of cheating at the quasar stations. The ending to the quest seems to be somewhat harsh in that Shepard himself does not give much paragon type encouragement for Schells.  Ended up going with this option though.

Edit:  I am still undecided about what is the most paragon option in this quest.  However, I still slightly lean toward the give the device to Doran option for the above reasons.

Most paragon is refusing to help Schells I would say. Next is giving to Doran, and least would be returning the device to Schells.

Besides, Doran gives you at least a little info on the Rita's sister quest and he knows how to dance. :)
