Honestly, there better be achievements if I'm going to pay $40 for it. If there are no achievements, I may not get the expansion, even though I love Dragon Age. Yes, I'm an achievement ****. Call me what you will.

Your going to let some insignificant, virtual bragging rights stop you from buying a game?
I was going to say the same things but there is no arguing with console gamers, my friend.

As a console gamer, I can honestly say the PC version is better. Achievements mean f*** all with better graphics, mods and controls.

really? You are the reason the achievement system was conceived-- to bind people in addictive corporate thralldom.

Not all of us console owners are Achievement-aholics. Oh, I'll work towards them, but for me, they're not the be-all and end-all of a game. I play a game because it's a great game, not so I can get more 'insignificant virtual bragging rights' (kudos on that, by the way).

I agree with parts of this only because I don't work for them at all. If I get them though the course of the game, that's fine but going out of my way to get them. Not a chance. I play the game for the game. That's pretty much it.

The will, indeed, be achievements in Awakening. I heart achievements, as well. There's a couple games I've played for 10-20 hours more to get my 1000 Xbox achievement points.
yay confirmation
And I guess I went overboard when I said I wouldn't get the expansion if there was no achievements.

Do y'all Xbox players get some redeeming value for the achievements? On PS3 they seem silly, and I try to get them only if they are funny/amusing.
Bragging rights is about it as far as I can tell. All the achievements you get from all the games you play go into your gamerscore. My husband just hit 10,000 and he's all excited about it.
I honestly don't usually play xbox but I'm 199% addicted to this game. I plan to try and get all the achievements just because it gives me more reason to keep playing.
I also plan to get the PC version and do it all over again.
