Hey all, I'm a huge fan of the Mass Effect series, only played one and two, and I am a writer by heart. So, I've been wanting to write a ME fanstory that takes place after the trilogy... But, I don't know why, but I'm really nervous in putting it out, not that I have done much yet, just a little prologue thing... Well, I'll put what I've got out and then ask you all if I should continue...
“You seem worried, sir. Is something wrong?”
“Something is always wrong, Agent, somewhere and sometime, something is always wrong.”
“I mean with you and the operation, sir.”
“Yes, something is wrong with my operation. Tell me, Agent, what do you know about the Reaper War?”
“Sir? That was over 100 years ago.”
“Answer the question, Agent.”
“I know that the Reapers attacked, wanting to wipe out all life in the galaxy, and that it was they, not the Protheans, that created the Mass Relays and the Citadel.”
“And who was the one that destroyed them?”
“Every race in the Galaxy united to defeat them-”
“But who united them, Agent? Who unified the Geth and the Quarians to stand as one? Who brought the Batarians to aid humanity? Who single-handedly destroyed Harbinger and brought the destruction of the rest of the Reapers? Who kept trying to warn the Galaxy time and time again about the impending danger? Who was killed and came back from the grave?”
“...Shepard...”
“Exactly... Shepard... The most famous human to have ever lived, and quite possibly the most famous being in the Galaxy.”
“And why shouldn’t she be, sir? I fail to see how this is relevant.”
“Because, Agent, we have a problem.”
“And it has to do with Shepard? But isn’t she dead, for good?”
“Yes, she is, and she’s not the problem. The problem is her children...”
