This individual was going on about how woman on top makes the man (I think? idk how we even got into the conversation) a "****". We, the entire lobby, consisting of myself (female) and two other males, commented on his pure, virginal status and he chose to single me out to message these gems to.

To clarify my indifference, I recieve messages like this almost daily. Just for having the absolute nerve to use my mic. I don't really believe that the people who send these kind of abusive messages deserve the courtesy of anonymity. In fact, I think people should know their names so that they can be avoided. If that is in violation of BSNs TOS or whatever, then so be it.

so you would appreciate your name being slandered on the forums without even knowing?
im not sayin you did, but people can doctor images you know, hence the rules.

'naming and shaming" is pretty obviously mandated  on all gaming forums for obvious reasons.

one incident does not justify "ruining" someones "internet reputation"
i use quotes because these are intangible, imaginged, hypothetical status symbols that mean nothing to some, but its important to others (obviously) and they deserve not to get slammed, even a douchebag like this guy.

Closing the reactor door on your friends is funny, closing the reactor door on a random is simply mean and petty, and something kids would do to each other. Some people derive joy from being mean, fortunately, I've only run into a few of these people during online play.

This. OP gloating about maliciously trapping someone in the core several times is pretty sick, and the fact that people are riding the OP's **** for doing this thing is messed up. I played for several hours with the guy who sent the message before I learned about this thread, he seems like a pretty friendly and rational guy, so I'm inclined to believe his version of the story involving the OP deliberately and maliciously trapping him in the reactor three times in order to attempt to catch up in score, as the guy definitely didn't seem to be the type to send hate after one or even two minor hiccups.

I've noticed on PC i haven't seen one person flip out/react differently to the fact that a girl is talking over the mic. Ecks bawks on the other hand is usually completely different, as i'm SURE you know by now. they're either suck ups to them (you know, laughing at every joke excessively and sh*t like that), or they go full retard, like your freind in that message. If i was you, i'd follow Kalas' advice and stay in party chat.

Never got any hatemail whatsoever when it comes to ME3. That makes me quite happy.

Dark Souls or Soulcalibur on the other hand...My rep's also taken quite a blow from those.

Edit: Oh wait. Scratch that. I did get hatemail when we booted someone from the lobby because he either was a glitcher or just wasn't ready for plat in our opinion.

I didn't ask any question. And I have been informed that it is against the rules and I am choosing to take the risk because, as I stated, I do not believe people that send these kinds of abusive messages deserve any kind of consideration for their internet rep or whatever, especially not from the recipient of their vitriol.

As for your edit - I am not deciding anything. The decison is up to you or whoever else is a part of the xbox community. All I did was speak about my negative experience wtih this player. If you want to play with them - or don't - I don't really care.

Calling people out IS against the rules - obv. Bioware doesn't want to close the forum down due to personal grudge matches.

At the same time - there's a lot of freaks out there sending this kind of crap to anyone who slightly annoys them, with apparently no consequences. There's no excuse to send anyone that kind of message. So I'm all for naming and shaming.

If you're going to send out those kind of messages into the vast internet anyway, you should be prepared that somewhere, someone out there (who you don't want to) might read it  - and they're gonna think you're a total a*se.

I like how this thread went from shameless self-promotion to a debate on the rights of douchebags. This thread's got it all. And kudos to Pain for sticking it to the man.

I mean, are we really focusing on the censorship of this idiot's name and not the fact that he started to explain the merits of the missionary position with real sincerity? Lolomg.

I have just received my very first hate mail. Was chillin' some waves on silver when some random got butthurt over my Asari Vanguard "stealing all his ******* kills". Whined into his mic all game then sent a message asking how I could be so ******* selfish. I feel so proud. That I was in the circle lobbing 'nades for both hacks then burned all my rockets delivering both pizzas obviously totally escaped him.

I'm a female PC player, and I have never gotten any rude comments over the mic or otherwise about my gender. The most anyone has ever said about it is, "Oh, cool! A girl!" Nobody cares, and I'm happy with that.

That's all I get on xbox as  a chick as well.  I've been ranted at a time or two on the mic (at least once deservedly so even if the guy was a little out of hand about it) but no hate mail.  I don't suck or rock at this game nearly enough to warrant hatemail.
