Excuse me? I wonder if anyone can help me please?

I really like the new spotted deer created by "Old time Radio"
I found a screenshot of it at n.w. vault which I took from one of the file packs done by CC Makers.

Image IPB

I've tried creating a hak using the files for this creature, but it didn't seem to work out, and the 2da files appear in no obvious order in which I could edit them either.

Is there any official release of this creature lying around anywhere at all?
It's not currently in any version of the CEP or CCP as far as I'm aware, having done a search.
I also tried to do a search at n.w. vault for this creature's creator, "Old time Radio" - which came up with the name, and I clicked to look through the user's submissions listed there, but found nothing in relation to a spotted deer. :-/

If anyone could let me know of any word on this creature at all, if there is any offficial release anywhere?
I'd rather like to know please?

That is the official release - which Hekatoncheires lined to - and all the required files you'll find in OldTimeRadio's directory within the archive file.

Within are the required models, textures and appearance.2da file with the associated reference lines.

Always remember to merge the appearance.2da file with your own!

Thanks for the helpful replies guys. :)

The link which "Hekaton" posted is the very same one I looked at in the first place. (before asking for help here)
I was looking for an actual hak file which had been made by "Old
Time Radio"
..... not a bunch of opened files which have been spread out
all over the place. An Official hak file was something I couldn't find
after trying a few search options here and there.. :-/

So a couple of days ago, I went back to this site again where all these
different files are, took the ones for the deer made by "Old Time Radio"
and tried making an actual Hak File with them. This I
couldn't achieve at first as all the lines in the 2da files are all in a
completely messed up order and I couldn't work out which numbered lines
related to which of the names for each lines and nothing was in
numerical order  e.t.c (might be something to do with my system)

But this evening, I've been searching n.w. vault for a 2da editor which worked for this.
I finally found one, and I've now made an actual working Hak File with just those special deer, made by
"Old Time Radio."

Is it worth trying to upload it to n.w. vault at all, incase anyone else might want it?
It's just a regular version of the Hak for the current version of NwN 1, and not a CEP one.
But I know how to make a CEP version of it, and could upload that if anyone might be interested.B)

Madam!

The Vault does not need my deer as a stand alone hakpack.

The Vault needs your deer as a stand-alone hakpak.  :D

Here is the sexiest, most easy-to-use deer kit ever made, complete with end-to-end instructions on how to edit and compile your own deer creations and default hide textures just begging to be customized...by you!  Should you have any questions or problems, please post them in this forum and I or someone else will likely be more than happy to assist you.

Go make some deer!

Sexiest deer kit? Does that mean we can hope to see them multiply rapidly? =)

OTR, don't sell those deer short, as they are simply the best out there right now IMO. But, yeah, I'm kinda hoping we'll get a whole Herbivore hak pak some day, or at least ruminants :-P

And I *really* hope people grab that deer kit and use it. The more Makers the happier I get :-)

@ MJ: If I get some time, I'll trim those deer 2DAs down to only the deer entries so there's less confusion.

THIS.... I absolutely have to agree with!:)
I haven't quite learnt how to make my own creature models and textueres e.t.c.
I don't even know how to start from scratch. Guess I haven't taken the time to yet, due to other interests I have.
So the deer kit would probably not be of much use to me right now.

But YES..... these are currently..... most DEFINITELY the most sexiest looking deer I've seen so far, and to me
are the best over the ones currently in the CEP too. I can't think of any other type of deer model/creature I'd want to create which would come close to these gorgeous looking beasts right now.

They are THE BEST! Great work OTR! Love them! *puts 2 thumbs up!*:)

My only best knowledge was how to make a deer hak with these models and texture files already provided
I guess the current state set out on the vault though, is so peole can have a bit more choice if they know how
to make their own deer, and I respect that.:)

Indeed! How about for e.g. some baby deer with the same models and textures?
That would be rather cute I think.:)

<...his ickle head off>
All 2da files on my system are a total pigs ear..... a complete mess. It's like something has come along and chewed them all up, leaving out the remains.:P

Only a 2da editor makes them look more neater and listed in a more proper state.
So it's not too much of  a problem right now.

Don't the deer entries in the 2da have to come at the bottom of all other entries in either the current NWN official 2da, or the CEP one if you're including them in the CEP?

Is it even possible to have entires in a 2da file which belong to 1 set of creatures only?
I've only just thought of it as a possibility, as I guess you would have to have 2 separate 2da files in a Hak then, right? (i.e. the deer one and the one from the current version of NwN)B)

Oh, another thing..... I also really like the ladybird bugs and the peacocks from the CCC Source file too.
Very colourful and pretty indeed! Though I know they're made by other different people.

I'm kinda thinking I might make them into haks, though not sure yet.
Maybe just for my own use, as they would look very nice in a module I think.B)

<adding a little...>

What I meant about the 2DAs was trimming the deer 2DA down to *just* the deer lines. This makes it easier to merge into the Appearance/Portrait 2DAs you use. The lines can (and unfortunately do, as you've found) go in any order.

One of my cherished, far future projects is a utility shell that does all that merging for you. It's a sub-project of the Launcher/Updater/MOptimizer project. But don't hold your breath. We're still learning :-P

And I'm glad I make you smile :-)
I always say "If people laugh at me... at least I made them laugh" =) <no you don't>
Hush, bird. I do sometimes. <mostly you mutter and whisper snide remarks to me>
Hah! Never!<yup>
I whisper snide remarks to *myself*! <ahhh. the dingy light dawns>
And I don't mutter <what was that? didtn't quite catch it>
Oh, go eat a snail. <don't mind if i do...>
You don't mind at all :-P <we're done here>
Yup.

Hrm... Might your 2da issue be something as simple as making sure word-wrap is not enabled so that everything appears linear when viewing?

Ahh yes.... think I see what you mean now. I've found that there are 8 lines for these precious deer too.
It's not really too many that i can'thandle though. Just a bit of renumbering each of the lines, particularly as I
have now put them in with the CEP 2.4 too. :)

Sounds quite interesting. I haven't read too much into the link you provided yet.
Is this supposed to be a project which is/will be slightly better than the usual 2da editors you can find listed on
n.w. vault? Right now, I found at least 1 or 2 of them there which can handle the 2da's I use quite well for editing I need  to do e.t.c

And I'm glad I make you smile :-)

Heheh..... you're quite a comedien around here I think.:P
But it's very unique too. Haven't seen it anywhere else I'm afraid.
It's like reading little roleplay stories that are amuisng.

Where do you get these little ideas from, if you don't mind me asking? B)

Thanks for that. It really helped me.:)
I went back over my 2das, looked at the options at the top of the 2da text pad, and found this word wrap option
comes from the drop down list called "View" (for those of us with Windows XP)
Then I click "Options" at the bottom, then the "text Tab" (2nd one along) and the Word Wrap thing is on there.

I had my 2da's set to "Wrap to window" for some strange reason.
This was obvoisly where it messed up all the lines in my 2da files.
So I chose the "No Wrap" option, which resets the 2da back to its correct form again.
My 2da's are now more easier to navigate through. Thanks again.

I'm not actualy sure what a word wrap does.
Looks like it's something I definitely don't need here.B)

My Da used to say "Comedians are a silver a dozen..." So I just try to cram more comedians into my head :-)

And they *are* roleplaying stories ;-)
Since I have not yet released my world of Amethyst except up close and personal in pnp, I don't have anywhere else to play but here - so I do :-) *Huge* fan of metagaming :-) I scatter hints and hooks to Amethyst all through my posts. <doesn't it make you feel all warm and fuzzy...>
Yup! <...don't interrupt. i'm talking here...>
Oh. Sorry. Go ahead. <...warm and fuzzy to be part of a lunatics game with multiple imaginary characters and hidden rules?>

Oh.
You're done talking? <yup>
Were you talking to me? <not this time>
Ok.
...
Are you waiting for me to say something? <*sigh* no, old man. why don't you go get some brandy or something?>
Don't mind if I do :-)
