I'm not sure if you mean "no confidence in their skill" as a bad thing. I know I'm not good enough to carry a Gold group so I would probably kick a level 1 with no gear equipped unless I felt there were one or two really excellent players in the lobby.

But I don't think I'm kick-happy. There are plenty of lobbies that look to me like they have no better than a 50% chance of extracting and I'm perfectly fine playing those. It's when it starts to dip below 50% that I either leave or vote to kick the outlier.

So yes, if you are doing it in more time then 20 minutes, it means you just don't have the skills. Besides, if you are challenging yourself in public games and then says stuff about having fun, means you are egoistic, egocentric *** who thinks only of himself. Did you ever asked other guys, if that is ok with them? And what did you do, if they said no? Did you change then to lvl 20 or did you just leave or start spouting **** about them not allowing you to get some fun?
Cause, my not dear, not friend, having fun at the cost of somebody else is something you should be ashamed of, not something you demand.

obviously you dont play for fun..you just play for credits or whatever..and i m not the one who should be ashamed..its you for kicking lvl 20 people with no gear without even knowing whether they can play as good as you or not...and that is egoistic and rude imho..besides from your statement you're already saying that you kick noobs no matter with/without gear..something i never do coz we all started as noobs :P

I made my piont here...i will write it again:
for gold:
lvl 1 with max gear : OK
lvl 1 with no gear : NO
lvl 20 with no gear : OK
lvl 20 with max gear: OK

peace everyone :innocent:

I disagree. Vote kicking forces the victim to reassess their loadout/gear. Perhaps they will notice they didn't even pick a permenant gear item. In my opinion, it would be silly for me to 'carry' someone that was too lazy to examine their own loadout. If you cant take the time to look at your own loadout then I do not want to invest the time to carry them.

So yes you made your point but it's a very bad one. No gear = taking more time to complete Missions. That is -NOT- Fun. That is a waste of time.

If there is one person in the game. Then he is usually pretty good. I have before tried to get bashed by some dude because he ended up in my game and died right away. He didn't give me time to revive him. That extraction took 22 minutes. Oh and i was level 20. I just didn't want to waste time waiting in my lobby.

So in short; I am not one of those guys you are talking about wasting your consumables.

Ok, but I guess that there are some people who will do that to avoid the lobby.   One problem is that a lot of people don't like joining on-going matches because of bad experiences.  I have had my share of those where you burn medigel and rockets when you are swarmed in the LZ only to realize that everyone else has given up.

The dumped-in-match at the last minute wave clutch is one of the most satisfying things in this game, though.

I look at a variety of things before I decide to kick - N7 level, challenge points, character level, weapon levels, gear... if all are unsatisfactory, you get my [x].

That said, a Lvl 1 character in gold would only be fine with me if they have high everything else.

For example, this is unacceptable lol (sry for bad quality, when I do PrtScr it doesn't work for some reason):

me and 1 friend had a gold lobby open late oe night and waited like 3 mins for someone to join. 1 guy joins. level N7 of 700 something with a good layout (i cna't remeber what) then another guy level N7 of 1 with a human soldier (level 1 obviously) an avenger 1 and mantis 1. clearly his 1st game. so we go ahead and play it anyway for the lolz (lets face it you don't need 4 good players to beat a gold people) anyway long story short we found out the 700+ guy was terrible. he got outscored by the level 1 player both were under like 30K

I know what you mean. I remember one time I was playing with randoms on "Silver". I never kick anyone from silver no matter what. Anyway, we all completed a mission together really quick. The next match the lead scorer from the last game choose to use a Geth Pulse rifle in his loadout., Guess what? This guy gets like 2 kick votes. I refused to kick him (I dont kick on silver- anyway). We did the next mission and he took top score :wizard:

I got dumped in, full gear, on wave 11 once, and numerous sync-kills by Banshees in the loading screen. It's not so much the person that starts alone's fault, but bioware for not giving us the option 100% of the time to avoid joining games in progress.

just keep in mind if game drops you into a game-in-progress you can quit asap and keep all your gear

What I hate is when we have a good team, lose a member, and from that point forward folks keep getting dropped in and quit asap because they assume we all suck. This is why when I get dropped into a game and check around to see if others are alive. If so, then I stay and help

A Lv1 Ghost entered my Gold lobby last night.

I just got nervous because of his curious setup and lack of consumables.

well yes and no.
The way i see it is if you think you can only hold your own and the other players dn't look like they can hold their own you can leave the lobby or even kick. i can understand that. I was more talking about the people with maxed or almost maxed manifests who brag about their skill and then turn around and kick people for bad layouts. I find it amusing personally when i see one.

you could try a diferent route.

for instance i've seen people come into a lobby with no consumbles on (gold btw) and sometimes as a joke i'll send them a message that says "consumables?" just to see what happens. i've only done it like 3 times but all 3 times that person put on consumbales. Might wanna try that instead of kicking?

I played level 1s on gold when I was going for the N7 banner. Depending on the class and gear it didn't matter and I even topped the scoreboard more often than not. I'd start a gold match solo and let others drop in. That way my level wasn't an issue.

If you have the proper weapons and you use consumables. I would welcome you. Too many times I have tried to play with people with the right characters, loadout and consumables at level 20 and they didn't get any points as they should. I wonder how that is possible if they shoot at enemies.

I have done the same trick as you and never end up in the bottom in score. It can be hard to get into a game so I ended up starting games alone and let people join me. I would love to see their reactions when we entered the score screen. Sometimes it was too much work so I started to wait until a char card got me up on level 8 or I took one Silver before gold.

Please end up in my games. Too many bad level 20 pugs get into my lobbies. ;)

For sure, if you're playing on the PS3.

I'll take a random level 1 with level X ultra-rares and level III/IV consumables over the random level 20 pug with a crappy loadout any day. If anything, using level 1 character with high-grade consumables is better form than using a level 20 with no consumables. If nothing else, the level 1 is showing dedication and determination, something sorely lacking in your average pug.

Last time I played, I joined a PUG match for gold using a level 5 character or something. Not even an N7 class. I think maybe I was Turian Sentinel or something, barely any powers. Just heavy guns a blazin'. The game had already started (wave 1), so thankfully no one had a chance to weigh in on my choice. I then of course proceeded to outscore everyone mightily, and we won.

So back to the lobby I go thinking, "hey, these guys have seen what I can do now with a low level char, they won't even flinch if I start working on another class." I pick my lvl 1 Engineer, load him up with consumables III's and IV's. Heavy weapons ready to go.

....and they start vote kicking. I even get on the mic, and ask them are you really going to kick me after I just outscored all of you with a low level char, seriously? No response, just an eventual kick.

I'm sorry, but people like that are idiots. I'm N7 2000+, Lvl 1 on gold is fine. I've even done Platinum fine with a good group with me at lvl 1. So no, not cool to kick lvl 1 characters on gold in certain respects.

I did this today with a group of friends on Gold just for the challenge, Asari Valkyrie Level 1 with a Claymore XI HVB/S.Choke. Headshots + skill, it wasn't even that hard. I came out with gold medals for Headshots/Shotgun Kills and Revives. I was reviving others and even carried them on Wave 9 after they died (It sucks how fast some mobs go to execute players, oh and on that note is it just me or is there a glitch recently where enemies execute players when they're not even in range? Happened a few times in some matches I've played.) Needless to say, sure maybe it is rude in a PUG and if you don't have the big ass guns to be usefull I would say, kick and send them on their way. People need to lighten up though, it's just a game and all that. Have some spirit and have a laugh.

Bad form? Yes. Why? Here's why:

Before Platinum there was Gold (duh) and Gold and Platinum are where people want to farm credits. Arguably you could say that people should migrate to Platinum to farm creds, but there are still players who just don't like Platinum and enjoy Gold over it (me included).

I guess it boils down to personal etiquette, but I'm even reluctant to let lvl 12-15 characters join my Gold lobby, simply because experience has shown me that I can't trust players like that. Constant deaths, no consumables or gear use, unwilling to help with the objectives, messing up forced spawns, ect.

Usually I'll give lvl 12-15 players a chance, but very reluctantly, and lvl 1's are immediatley kicked.

If you are good with that character/enemy/map combo, then do it. I run FBWGG missions all the time with level 1 FQI. Immediately a level 8 after. If the person running that match doesn't want to risk it, understandable, but If you are actually good, and have decent equipment, go for it.

That being said, I have kicked alot of level 3, N7 3 people that have tried to run gold, lol.

If I am running a level 1 I at least have 1 friend in the game and I am usually host, so I can't say I mind really. My friend and I both ran level 1's for a while when doing the promotions and carried plenty of level 20 randoms (I am talking both of us up by 60-70k on third place). Now if I were just searching for a match I wouldn't do it personally, but as long as you had decently leveled weapons with you and used gear I wouldn't kick.

Ehhh, I really don't mind that much. I've only extracted on Gold a dozen or so times so obviously I'm biased towards the newer players but there doesn't seem to be any guarantee of quality players so the dodgy ones can be a challenge sure but not necessarily terrible.

So yeah it's probably bad etiquette but just prove people wrong.

A fun thing to do

Step 1 - Use a Level 20 character with no points specced.
Step 2 - Use a Level 1 character
Step 3 - If anyone voices concern or attempts to kick bring up how both are specced the exact same way...

In random PUGS you don't really have any idea of the skill of the player involved. So yeah, don't be surprised if people kick you. It's like online dating profiles. If you had two people - one gorgeous looking, one ugly, and neither of them had any sort of introduction or personality write-up attached...I mean let's get real. Without knowing any details you're probably not going to pick the butterface because 'I'm sure she has a really great personality and would be really fun even though she didn't say a word in chat!'. It's a waste of time.

People don't want their time wasted. They don't want their consumables wasted either. I always bring in at least a level 17 character or so. And I always try to equip some gear. I just think it's the polite thing to do; and it demonstrates that you're putting a little effort in.

I don't care if you're awesome and want to show how you can top a scoreboard with a level 1 guy. The fact it you could have done even better with a level 20 and completed the mission faster. Stop wasting our time.

I personally wouldn't go for a really low character on Gold unless I was with friends I play with regularly. When I'm playing with randoms I like to guarantee at least some success.
