I love Mass Effect. I love the lore, I love the planets I love the characters I love everything. It has become my favourite video game series of all time. And You've all heard this before. The Endings sucks yada yada.

I just can't help but feel EA/Bioware are too far gone. We've been on these forums for over a year voicing all these opinions, giving amazing feedback and generally engaging in frantic heavy conversation that Bioware could of used to easily win us back. They had the power to do so.

I can't help but feel ME3 could of been so much more. It could of bee absolutely legendary beyond all belief. The main campaign was breathtaking. But the endings soured the experience, the extended cut still couldn't wash the taste from my mouth, it didn't feel "Canon" it felt tacked on as a "Oh..Yeah. Here you go" experience.

If Bioware used even a fraction of the passion that this forum contained and used it in the ME3 DLC + EC. I would feel satisfied. But instead I feel betrayed and my faith in EA and Bioware has sank to an absolute all time low. (Even though EA is pretty much hated worldwide) And I wish it didn't have to be like that.

ME3 was a Gem. But it just proved to me again that money talks. And lazy Cutbacks on one of the decades greatest franchises are just unavoidable of sales are guaranteed. I'm sick of it.

I know this is rambling. But it needs to be said. I genuinely think we could of created a better game. Bioware ultimately failed to deliver despite having an entire Year + DLC to fix it. They blew it horribly bad, and so they have simple lost all of my trust.

It's a shame, really.

Anyone feel the same?

TL;DR - ME3 was a missed opportunity. They didn't fix it properly and now the dgaf.

I rarely invest faith in anything involved with the creative process. Too many pitfalls. Still, ME3 was certainly bittersweet, both in its reception and the game itself. I was disappointed, yes, but my trust wasn't broken by any means.

No. Dragon Age 2 did that for me.

Not ME3 itself, but ME3 after DA2.

DA2 caused the loss of Pre-order credit, ME3 caused the loss of presumption of quality.

I don't have confidence they'll take the time produce a complete/quality game from start to finish. I think they'll continue to crunch timelines if anything.

When I compare my feelings after completing recent games to those I had after KOTOR, BG II, ME1 and DA:O. Makes me sad really.

Edit: Different teams no longer matters, it's obvious to anyone who is paying attention that the company as a whole is streamlining and tailoring it's games to appeal to a wider range of gaming demographics, basically more casual gamers.

DA2 was pretty much the biggest Foreshadow ever for ME3's demise. But damn I'm a liar if I said I didn't find DA2's core combat better than ME3's. Felt like I was playing GoW.

I feel sorry for the next Bioware title, really.

good things happen all at once.

Great things take time.

Be patient OP, if nothing is resolved at the end of the dlc cycle. All hope is lost.

yes.

ME3 and SWTOR did.

I knew that SWTOR was going to be a bust was when I saw the gameplay. The attacks in the game is basically pressing 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 repeat during every...single...battle!...Boring!

I want to see Shepard survive this fight. I want more, I want to see my squad again. That's pretty much what everyone wants. Or at least the option.

No.

But I'm also judging every piece of work separately, BW logo always was just good indicator for me.

Bioware was already becoming a joke before I even got into the series.

SWTOR followed by ME3. I have no desire to buy or even see anything EAWare related ever.

Yeah, that and so called space combat.

Not the Mass Effect Team. I'm not a fan of the KOTOR Team but I like the mass effect guys.

I don't think making a bad ending and not doing everything the fans ask is a good basis to hate a company. I mean it is their game. Their dream and ideas were brought into it I dont know how its out business to force them to do something they dont like.

They may deserve some tough love sometimes but I dont think you should hate them if they don't do everything you say.

It's not that they didn't do what we said. It's the they flat out lied to us and failed to deliver what they constantly promised. The overall quality of the games got worse and worse. The size of the Citadel for example, It was massive in ME1, Now in 3. It's just...Well. 5 Floors.

To a good amount of people ME2, The Sonic RPG, DA:O dlc, DA2, no more KOTOR, and such made them a joke.

You are saying this as if we have some means of forcing them.
Anyway, ME3's writing is a pure garbage, from start to finish, their handling of fans outrage was horrible - therefore, they deserve everything they got in return, hate included. :wizard:

To be fair it was also bigger then the Citadel in ME2...and to me it's a lot more lively then ME1's.

With healthy skepticism of subjective claims, awareness of the truth-stretching history of Bioware advertising (and advertising in general), pre-release disillusionment from the role of Cerberus, and otherwise having measured expectations, ME3 was right about where I expected it to be.

Well said Jade

OP. Many of us are waiting for the end of the DLC cycle to see how ME3 finally closes.

For good or bad...we have hope...the smallest hope...but hope worth fighting for!

No. I'm not trusting anything stated by EA at all. Not just Bioware.

Bioware (DA:O, ME1) = Protheans

EA (ExtremeAsswipes) = Reapers

Bioware (DA2, ME3) = Collectors

It's not that I don't trust them, it's just that I hate EA for turning so many companies into shameless corporations that only want your money.
