Yes. Never buying a game from Bioware, which I think is already dead after losing so much core staff over SWTOR failure. The only EA/EAWare game I'd buy is NHL_X once every 3 years.

Already removed Origin, along with the entire ME series and BF3 like 6 months ago. I won't reinstall that, even for ME4, even less for their shoddy, pointless DLC. Suck it.

The ME3 team that's left, can choke on their "artistic integrity" for all I care. I won't be sorry when they get fired, infact, I'd welcome it.

Alright... Why are you here then?

I hope you get banned. That last part of your post was the most disgusting thing I've read on here for quite some time.

Why am I here? To answer the question in the OP. Too bad for you (I guess), that you don't like that answer.

PS. The care-level of being banned here is less than zero. Bioware is already dead, I don't care about their future games, I don't care about my account, I don't care about them. I don't care what you think, I posted my OPINION.

It's a good thing it doesn't matter much in the grand scheme of things, especially since its full of vitriol for no apparent reason, like most on the internet.

Agreed. But the comment about the Dev team kind of sucked.

Destroyed? No, but it's made me wary. The Mass Effect series is the first few games that has ever managed to pull me into a game like that, and it's hard now for me to find and play other games. I hate the original endings, but I've made my peace with the endings overall after the EC. I'll keep an open mind about ME4 and DA3, but I'll probably read reviews before I buy.

I was willing to forgive after DA2 because I was pretty much done with DA after 1 and playing the demo for 2. I didn't think they would mess up ME3 though but it feels like it had EA's grubby hands all over it. With SWOTOR I think they messed up more with the free 2 play model I paid for the game and subbed for a while but now I have all these features stripped from me just because I don't subscribe anymore. If they did it better then I would subscribe again but after paying 40 quid for the game I now have the same features as someone who paid nothing.

Well I have not bought a single DLC for a franchise I spent hundreds of hours playing. I own ALL the DLC for both prior games. So yeah, Casey Hudson has killed my faith in Bioware.

Depends.

Biowre burned a lot of fans.  It's going to be an uphill battle winning them back.  Frankly, I'm shocked that they're not shelving the franchise for, oh, five eyars or so til it's not quite so radioactive.

Now?  Well, as I said earlier, they could mend fences by actually making ME4 a real rpg with shooter elements again, rather than a shooter with "nice" and "mean" dialogue options (seriously, action mode?  WTF were they thinking?)  If it was quality material, and I mean seriously good quality, DAO quality.  They will probably win people back.  Not all at once.  But there aren't so many good RPGs out there that a good one will be ignored purely out of spite.

OTOH, they could just cut the RPG fans loose completely, go full-on shooter, cut the writing staff to an intern in a broom closet, and milk the microtransactions for all they're worth.

I don't want to lay odds on which path is the more likely.

I really don't think so.

I'm not saying it's gonna sell bad, but there's just no way they're gonna see first week sales like they did with Mass Effect 3. After their last three games, they need to start winning trust back. We'll have to see how well DA3 turns out first.

I have bought pretty much every DLC for DA:O and ME2, and none for DA2 and ME3 that wasn't included in the signature/N7 edition. And I even have quite some Bioware points left on my account...

Those bonuses will prolly be stuff that will be given away with dlc anyway.  Or be completely pointless like the Normandy's "dog".

Meh Effect 4 can be got from bargain bin/elsewhere/not at all.  Regardless - im ensuring that EA and Bioware dont get any of the money I pay if I even do purchase the product.

Same as me. I even purchased some Mass Effect books and a Shepard figure I liked the ME universe so much.

DA2 was, in my opinion, so bad I could only playthrough once and afterwards had no desire to add to the game in any way.

In ME3 I believed all the hype and went through ME and ME2 again to get Shepard set up  perfectly to play ME3.

After not taking back Earth and the atrocious ending, coupled with what seemed to many backward steps (auto dialogue, fetch quests, broken journal etc etc) ME3 killed my desire to play through again with different classes and difficulty levels as I had in ME and ME2.

Mass Effect 3 completed the process that Mass Effect 2 began, I'm very unlikely to ever buy a Bioware product again.

This kinda leads to another question that I'm reticent to ask, but it's related:

This kind of sentiment is brought up quite a bit, and more power to you for doing so. But for people who claim to be huge fans who had faith in the company and trusted them to release product that you wouldn't be disappointed in, sometimes all it takes is one bad product to make you change your mind.

I know I won't get a complete answer right now, but if the next Mass Effect game does what the marketing claims, is as good as the hype says it is, receives many top marks, and is said by fans to be pretty darn good, would that be enough to change your mind and restore that trust you once had? Would ME3 (and maybe DA2, if you lean that way) then be seen as statistical anomalies in BioWare's gameography, or has the trust been well and truly severed and each good, worthy game becomes but a stepping stone to restoring that faith?

No.

Truth be told. Its not just Mass Effect 3's disasterous ending that broke my trust. It was more Bioware's response to it.

And sure you Stan can preach up and down that we the fans don't know the whole process, don't realize this or that going on behind closed doors and all the factors that come in to the decisions and thus can't get the full picture.

Well whoop-dee-doo.

That still doesn't change a very simple truth, that when this game went gold we were flat out lied to. I know that the rachni promise came no earlier than December, four months before the game went out. Casey Hudson's promise on the endings and how widely varried they were came out in january.

I don't know what happened behind closed doors, I don't know the factors for decisions made I don't have the full picture.

And quite frankly, I don't care because 1 I'm never going to have that full picture, and 2 there was never any sort of apology for these statements after the game went GOLD. I don't expect every promise even in the alpha stage of development to be carried through and to be apologized to when it falls out for whatever reason but after the game goes Gold with just 3 months before the release is inexcusable.

Then during the three months before the extended cut release you have Chris Priestly doing polls on "do you believe in the Indoc. Theory" not doing anything to rectify people getting their hopes up for the IT. Not even a statement at the begining.

Another point where someone at Comic Conwas saying Gameplay elements are "most likely" going to be featured.

They screened questions at Comic Con

You have Merizian advertizing a world wide survey done by German fans on the ending only to discard the results which showed an overwhelming negativity/desire to cut the ending out, later when they supposedly didn't match up their own results (which they refused to release).

You then had Casey Hudson "interviewed" in house along with Mac walters in an interview that had NONE of the truly pertinent questions. Claiming that there was an "overwhelming" amount of people that did 'love' the endings.

So after you've given me a falsely advertized product, you hype the content up again, refuse to rectify the hype you've already built up, skirt away from fan questions at conventions, dismiss WORLD WIDE surveys that they advertize through twitter, Facebook, the BSN, Euro-gamer and IGN have an "in house" interview with soft ball questions and have the gall to lie practically to my face about how many people "loved" the ending? Even when they were hard wiring the extended cut content onto the Wii U versions to come with it automatically?

No. It wasn't the game that broke my trust. I could have forgiven that. I could have lived with that. Everybody makes mistakes we're all human.

It as the GROSS handling of the situation that broke my trust to the point  I won't even buy DA3 whenever it arrives. and even if the game lives up to be EVERYTHING promised (which you and I both know it will not) I wont purchase it. At best I'll borrow it. Even if I play it and LOVE it. I STILL wont Purchase it. Even if I play it Love it, and the company mannages to get through the third game without royally ****ing it up I STILL wont purchase it.

For me personally, somewhere down this road a line was crossed. And that is a very sad truth since Bioware has made several games that I play to this day.

THIS. nailed it.
Bioware is/was my favorite developers. Gaming for me is appealing DUE to bioware. but their stance in Me3 pushes me back from gaming.
All make mistakes, i do not mid much that Me3 is a BAD game as for all the lies pre-release and their ignorance.

Hit the nail right on the head.

Id1449 nailed it. I've far less interested in what BW is going to produce next. ME 4, DA 3...eh...so?
A year ago, I wouldn't have said this. No, I would be all excited and looking for every little bit about the new games. I would talk a lot about it in a guild forum.

Now, my eyes are cast in another direction. So, why am I here. I guess I'm still in lingering mourning. Sooner or later, yes, I'll go.

Am I the only one that despise the ending to ME3 and still thought that the game in most parts was a good game, but a bad Mass Effect game. And still is looking forward to DA3 and "ME4"? :)

Maybe it's just morbid curiosity. I don't know. But I will most likely buy their next games as well as long as no really disheartening news about the game(s) is revealed beforehand.

The game has flaws, yeah, but the endings eclipse all.  With a good ending, ME3 would have been a decent game.  RPG-lite, but an okay shooter, I guess.  At least hte story would have held together until it crossed the finish line.

Like I said, I'm keeping an eye on DA3, to see how that team handles things.  Doubt I'll preorder or anything.  But Ihaven't ruled out buying the game yet.  More data needed.

ME4 or whatever I have little interest in at all.  The writing team has showed neither the understanding nor the inclination to learn why the endings are so reviled.  They're more interested in telling why they're awesome instead.  I can't trust them not to simply do this again.

ME3 is an enjoyable game (in spite of the Ed Wood level story and no content Fed EX quests) but it fails as both an RPG and shooter and thus can't objectively be considered a "good game".

Not to mention that it puts the final nail in the coffin as a series hyped on "choices" that would impact across entries  and reveals it as a complete and utter falsely advertised dud(games like New Vegas, Witcher 2 and BW's own DA:O wipe the floor with the entire series put together when it comes to that).

Bioware is probably bleeding money from all angles at this point....the SWTOR mmorpg is crippling Bioware, huge investments are being pumped into DA3 and Mass4 development, with no major source of income coming any time soon I think the pressure will be on to release a title sooner, rather than later..........sitting back to polish a product simply won't be an option.

The saving grace for Bioware is that if these titles are released on next gen consoles then gamers will be hungry for next gen content,ANY next gen content,Bioware will make a killing.

It hasn't destroyed my trust in Bioware but it has had a bit of an impact...there'll have to be one more BIG mess up before Bioware is just another game company to me...

Here's hoping Dragon Age 3 doesn't disappoint...

No it hasn't. No matter how bad a certain ending is -which I don't think is as bad as people claim anyway, stop overreacting people- Bioware gave me so many feels with all of their games and that cant just be ignored. As a whole they are a fantastic company, so they screwed up big whoop, everyone makes mistakes. Just let it go... Let yourselves enjoy the games that you actually find enjoyable.

Sorry, folks. There have been some great debates and a lot of excellent comments, but this discussion has now gotten ugly and will be closed.

End of line.
