Oddly enough when I play a roleplaying game I like to roleplay. What helps me do that is reflect on a character and try to sum them up in one word.
Here's what I've come up with for the varied origin stories:
City Elf: Rage
Dalish Elf: History
Dwarf Commoner: Family
Dwarf Noble: Loyalty
Human Noble: Revenge
Mage: Freedom
How do you think your characters' origins can be summed up?

Very nice, mousestalker!
I've played a full playthrough as a mage and a city elf so far, and finished dalish elf (current) and human noble (eventual) so far, so I cannot comment on the dwarven ones, but your analogies are spot on for me

City Elf: Rage...
Indeed, i agree with this infact i enjoyed this origin the most so far.. it seemed perfect for the female hot headed two handed warrior i had in mind for it.
Dalish Elf: Racism.
Human Noble: Greed (It seems a noble trait which suited my Rogue).
Magi: Freedom.
Not played dwarfs.

I can only speak of the Human Noble origin here, as that's all I've played, but the word that I would attach to it is Duty.
Duty is something you don't have to understand or enjoy; it's just something you have to do because nobody else can. Taking care of the estate when your father and brother are away is your duty. Informing your brother of Howe's treachery is your duty. Exacting vengeance becomes your duty (this one could be passed to your brother, but as he's MIA it's up to you). And finally, the Joining puts the duty of defeating the darkspawn on your shoulders too.

Male elven mage: i roleplayed a Libertarian mage, tendentially good.
Male human rogue: formally a good and religious character but with some chaotic tendencies because of vengeance feelings.
Female dalish elf: total ****, racist against humans and disrespectful against the maker religion, generally slightly evil.
Male city elf: a good character who just wants justice and equality for his people, he doesn't hate all humans.
next character will be a completely evil human blood mage
