Do you think BioWare did the right thing of killing her off, or do you think they should of gave you the option of saving her and making her a perminant squad member for Mass Effect 3.

I wouldn't have minded her surviving (or at least having a better death), but they didn't have enough time to squeeze in the existing squad members (between cut content and simply demoting the majority of the ME2 characters to extras) so I'm perfectly fine with her being Omega-only.

Well I think there should have been perhaps a way to save her. Or even have Aria die instead. Oh well.

Bioware was like
-"Here. A Female turian with a sexy-ass voice and flexibility. She's also a lez.
Whoops! Would you look at that, it seems we have accidently killed her off without your actions having any sort of impact on the result of her demise! YOU CAN NEVER HAVE HER AGAIN, MWHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
At least, that's what i see.

I think that they should have gave us Nyreen as a squad member, Aria wouldn't be the right choice because she has to rule Omega but Nyreen was a free agent but she had to die I guess.

Honestly? With all the Nyreen vs. Aria commentary I had to do throughout Omega; I expected I had to choose between the two and maybe kill off the other, given how serious it was made out to be.

Do I stick with Aria, better the devil you know, or go for Nyreen and hope she's as Paragon as she makes herself out to be? Nope, Nyreen always dies and Aria only slightly changes according to your choices throughout leading to Petrosky's survival (or lack thereof).

I mean that was kinda neat that the end was made by your actions throughout the Omega campaign but it felt like her death was just shoe-horned in for the sake of it.

Given that the DLC was more expensive, I am disgusted we couldn't keep Nyreen as a squaddie. Or even Aria. Not like she actually does anything.

Well, for what Sylvf said to write all the lines necessary for Nyreen join the squad for the rest of game, would be too much work, for them.

Sylvf also said the writers are "very passionate" but it seems their passion isn't fiery enough to bother to write that much. So Ninja Boy end of line'd her, so they don't need to work out.

Because it fit the themes of Mass Effect 3....Victory through sacrifice.

Notice that sacrifice is a huge theme in ME3, the biggest theme. This shows in the DLC...with Ann Bryson in Leviathan and now Nyreen in Omega.

I doubt they will leave her killed off as the ME game lacks characters anyway. The on-screen of her death looked like a setup for just that sort of thing.

This. In fact, it almost feels like Nyreen was killed to provide Aria, the cool, calm, collected boss (queen, if you're feeling dramatic) of Omega, the reason to recklessly race into Afterlife and get captured by Petrovsky. I felt like a morality choice was coming, but Nyreen's death swiftly side-stepped that possibility, and I kinda think that was to the detriment of Omega - if we couldn't revisit Omega as a hub world afterwards, at least have a choice at the end between Aria and Nyreen so that it felt like what we did had genuine consequence. That's honestly my biggest problem with Omega (aside from the price tag).

She should have survived. Now the tuarian species is doomed.

Honestly, they probably didn't want Nyreen to upstage Aria....which was probably in Carrie Ann Moss's contract (the VA for Aria).

And by having a new character be able to take over Omega or by having Aria die, that would have happened.

However, I would have liked a way to save Nyreen based on the choices I made regarding sympathizing with her cause and methods.

Why not? Have they given a technical reason?

Technically, of course they could, they already did that in ME2 with Kasumi and Zaeed. (And with a pretty good mission for each of them.)

But it seems that it's not the same for ME3, it would have meant new dialogues, interactions, aboard the ship, the citadel and during the missions. Maybe it's a financial or timing problem, I can't say.

A shame though, because I guess that Nyreen as a new squadmate would have make me buy that DLC, that and the fact that Omega doesn't just disappear once that sidequest ends.

I would have liked a chance to save Nyreen, the way you can the Quarian Admiral Koris. Leadership is important, and the galaxy (certainly Omega) would have been a better place with her influence.

From what I understand. Kasumi and Zaeed already had placeholders, -Possibly Javik as well-. They were always planned in the game. So they would have needed to add entirely new ones for them.

Realisticaly some people you know would have to die in a war like this.
Wars, guns, giant cannons and bombs going off does kill people. It might be healthy to remind people of that.

Personaly I think the Omega DLC was ok, I also liked it that you could save some of those injured mercs along the way. It would have been more interesting if they had had a time out timer forcing you to defeat your foes on time and get over there and "revive" them like you do in Multiplayer. Or at least get to them in time before they die while trying to kill enemies and dodging enemy fire.

The alternative, woudl have been if the mercs you save could have saved Kentros if you saved enough of them. They or some of them might die in the process though.

I liked the Omega DLC, but I guess it coudl have had even more choices and possibilities for the player to "perform" better. Saving her could have added her as a war asset.
Adding another Squad member would have forced them to add dialogue for her for all other missions beyond the Cerberus attack on the Citadel and the Udina coup.
