Best Weapons for Casters?

Long range:
1. Valiant; Pros, It is light, does excellent damage, and has a good scope. Cons, It is slightly heavier than most caster weapons and is hard to level up.
2. Paladin: Pros, it is lightweight and has a relatvely high dps. Cons, small mag
3. Indra: Pros, it is really, really light and has a high dps. Cons, it's DPS is kind of exagrated due to its quick reload time and high magazine capacity. It isn't as accurate as the Paladin or Valiant
Mid-range:
1. Talon, Pros: It is light, hits hard, and has a shield damage bonus. Cons: Not the most accurate gun
2. Wraith Pros: It is a great mid-range shotgun. Cons: It is level dependent, fires slowly, and takes up SG rail amps which to me, are more precious than UR's
3. Scorpion: Pros: Instant Stagger and power applications, does more damage than most stagger weapons. Cons: Small Mag, less damage than direct damaging weapons
4. Acolyte: Pros: does monster damage to shields, is light and staggers. Cons: Charged weapons suck
5. Falcon: Pros: same as the Scorpion. Cons: sucks against bosses, slow fire rate
Short Range:
1. Piranha: Pros: High Damage, light. Cons: Inaccurate, requires SG rail amps
2. Hurricane: Pros: High damage. Cons: Inaccurate, high recoil, hard to level up

Harrier X.
You aren't "cheap" if this is the only weapon you ever use?

I rarely use the Harrier. But there's no denying that it's a great caster weapon. Especially at X, as it's quite light.

I usually go talon for biotics and falcon for tech
Talon is now my favorite pistol, however, is it just me or does it have DRAMATIC recoil? I usually have to put a stabilizing amp on it, or entrust it to only the geth who have hunter mode and innately handle weapons better. I feel like it just bounces all over the place if I give it to other classes, without stablizing amps

Harrier X and the Claymore X are great weapons for everybody. 90% of the worlds problems could be answered with Claymore, Harrier, or 42.

Short/Mid range Hurricane, aside from the damage it's ROF is ideal for priming, the RNG smiled on me some time ago and it's at X...friggin amazing weapon, I just hope I don't wear it out:)

As good of a team mate as you are, you deserve a Hurricane X:wizard:
RNG gave me the Valiant X. It is amazing how that guns lightens up so much per level. The Valiant X has pretty much replaced both the Indra and Paladin for me.

With the scope it does, it is not just you.

Also this:

^ use a scope + heavy barrel + AP/warp ammo on the talon
It safely negates most of the cons.
The Paladin, on a biotic class, with the HVB and extended magazine + warp ammo is absolutely wonderfull for eating otherwise heavy units from a safe distance.

and the disciple for staggering armored targets fore every second shot of fire (so little trouble whit storming dragons and ting like that), and whit Smart Choke it is almost as accurate as an sniper
and the best part you still have a fast cooldown fore your powers

The GPS is interesting with all Engineers (it's not heavy, stagger, etc.).
I use the Graal with my Krogan Adept.
I agree with Acolyte and Hurricane/CSMG (Asari Justicar, Human Adept), Paladin (Asari Adept for Stasis and headshots), Wraith (Batarian Adept and Sentinel, Asari Sentinel), Talon (some Vanguards, Ex-Cerberus Adept, Asari Sentinel), Scorpion (just for my Salarian Engineer).
