Though this poses two questions:
1. Where would they find that many French voice artists?
and 2. What are the chances they all sound like Riordan?

That would make sense, actually. Perhaps that's how they'll intriduce us to each new game, by having a PC hail from the region featured in the previous game.TinuHawke wrote...

France. They already do casting and recording in the UK - doing some in France should be easy.- Songlian - wrote...

They'd probably cast a bunch of French Canadians as well. Like how Dalish were Irish and Welsh.Sylvius the Mad wrote...

And a lot of people like french accents.Herr Uhl wrote...
I hope so, since all leans towards Orlais. Don't think they'll be though, just because a lot of people hate French accents.

IMO, it won't be the typical Orlesian accent assuming PC is even native there. I really think it would be very unpopular. I myself wouldn't like it personally.
Ideally, I'd rather them allow us to choose our accent and VO actor. They won't do that though. I'd much rather a silent PC if I walk around with a forced French accent. In fact, if I'm forced with that kind of accent, it would actually be a big swaying point for me not to buy DA3. I don't think I can bear a 30+ hour experience listening to my PC with Orlesian accents(assuming they're all French)...

But then they'll still have to have an Orlesian character for DA4.
I want an Orlesian accent for my PC. Huzzah for accent diversity!!! Better than having so called "British" accents, (is it too much to ask for a Brummie or Scouse PC?).
But then I may have t rethink my PC's name if we are Orlesian...

Quebecois is a very different accent, but then Irish isn't really at all similar to Welsh, so I suppose that could work.Herr Uhl wrote...

Just as long as the accents are good, i don't see any problems. The worst that can happen would be to have accents that would not be out of place in an episode of 'Allo Allo'. Our better still have Traynor's VA do the female protagonist and another Brit do the male protagonist, gets round any problems with accents.
Oh please, her voice is so pretty. If we don't get Orlesian accents, I want her voice.

Brummie accent would be a hard sell in North america. Not to sure about scouse. How about a Yam Yam PC?.Elfman wrote...

But we'll be used to the accent by then, having been exposed to dozens of Orlesian NPCs in DA3.Elfman wrote...

1. The PC is Fereldan. British accent and either have the backstory of a refugee from the Blight or having lived on the border between Orlais and Ferelden, thereby explaining the Fereldan accent. Keep the protagonist from Ferelden in every Dragon Age game. Make Ferelden that little insignificant country in the south-east that produces a remarkable amount of heroes/champions.
2. The PC is Orlesian. French-ish accent and have the a backstory of an Orlesian, or British accent and have the backstory of having lived on the border between Orlais and Ferelden, thereby explaining the Fereldan accent. If the game takes place mostly in Orlais, it would make the most sense to have an Orlesian PC.
3. The PC is from Kirkwall/The free Marches. British accent and have the backstory of being a Marcher refugee after Kirkwall was burned to the ground. This could carry on a trend of having every new game's protagonist be from the main setting of the previous game.

I know most reasonable people are more worried about the Orlesian accents not being of a high quality and hoping they're not silly fake accents. The other vocal "I hate French accents" crowd I couldn't care less about.
