When I first started I ranked up to 3000 just so that I could reach out to higher ranked players for higher level matches and have my message/invite taken seriously as higher ranking at the time for other's meant higher skill (not the case of course).

I then continued ranking up for fun as I would use my promotions as a way to respec my characters and not have to depend on reset cards. I did that a lot and also ranked up to just simply have a high N7 but then I stopped. I used to play a lot with IAMxSHADRACH when he was playing and he was the top ranked player for a long time so I figured I may as well rank up as well.

I really see no reason for me to continue to rank up so I stopped. I do need to do so for one of my challenge banners so I will soon just for that and stop again. I think if I would have continued to rank up and promote since the beginning I would most likely be a 18-21k rank. Dont really care about it anymore but it would be nice to get it to an even number like 10k. Well see if I feel up to it.

Any number divisible by 30 can be achieved. sadly 10,000 is not among them. 30,000 is though lol.

but I dont want to promote to 30k....cant we make an exception just for me and give me a 10k rank?

Smoked for 40 years....reefahs for 10 ( Privateer, Wing Commander years, they were Chris Roberts games for all you kidlets, BEST game ever made and fore runner of todays games)...,gave up 7 years ago...miss it...HELL yeah...., but feel better for it.
Ranking 21000 odd, was 175 in the word till had log in issues ( was off line for nearly 3 weeks) was hoping to reach top 100..., at least still in top ten in Australia. I have my own challenge against characters above me, I play till I catch one, then try for the next. All good fun. Ahh computers...., best time wasters EVER invented. Luv em.

 mine is 1035, I don't have xbox live gold so I can only play on free weekends and I always promote because there is nothing like the feeling of soloing with a level 1 character:D

I promoted a couple times back when it was a goal for one of the weekend events but after that never did it again.

I'd rather have all my characters at lvl 20 over some number that really doesn't mean anything at the end of the day.

My N7 is 1,463. Because I've promoted alot. And played a decent amount.

Played nonstop until Diablo 3 came out, playing primarily just my human soldier and quarian infiltrator.

I found something I liked in those two and didn't have much initial success at the other four. Investing my time in them just for an N7 rating seemed... trivial. Cosmetic. Pointless. If it ain't fun, whats the point?

Now, having returned to the game after six months away, I still feel no need to inflate a pointless rating. If nothing else, it shows how long you've been playing and promoting and purchasing.
