Mine is just shy of 4K. For a long time, it sat at 300. Then I had a friend tell me how much fun he was having trying new builds, and I didn't have enough respec cards to keep up. Now I promote so I can replenish my stocks of level 1 equipment and in-game consumables by buying all those Recruit Packs...

;)

I promoted quite a bit at first to try out different build concepts before respec cards and for weekend challenges. Ultimately tho, levelling up makes no sense in MP to me. In an RPG adventure sure, but the MP is not an RPG adventure.  But there were times when it was worth it to me, such as the times I had to promote to respec 2 or 3 characters when I couldn't get the cards, and eventually I was on 990 .. and stayed there for months.

....Until a few days ago when I  finally realised I would need to draw a line under the CP system (which I eventually got addicted to because it's always in the convo at some point nowadays) ....  and so I might as well make that point a goal. So even tho I never wanted the BoB banner (wanna femshep version) I am now going to do the N7 because I have (or almost have) every other one.

The CP system was good in that it made me really spend some time with classes and guns I had given up on. Despite me being someone who liked to try out odd ideas and builds/loadouts, I couldn't do them all without an incentive. But other than that I think it is putting an end to people synergising and playing as a team and when's the last time you saw a character not in the challenge system ingame?  I won't claim to have been happy finding yet another "I just shoot stuff " HI or HSol in my lobby at the beginning, but I miss them now .

So I will quit, when I get the last banner.

Whatever my silly N7 number will be then is where it will stay... It always meant nothing and my increasing it for a banner won't change that. I do find it slightly sad that some people think it matters (especially if they claim it matters in some skill related way lol)  even after all this time, but  ... the world wouldbe  a boring place if we were all the same.

(TBH, the only thing that does get me about N7  is why BW made N7 a part of the challenge system when it already has it's own unique number for those who care about it... but whining solves nothing soooooo...  )

Have fun :)

Great post.  Agree with pretty much everything you said.  Except for the part about "silly N7 number".  Everybody knows this was a stealth e-peen thread by the OP.

Currently sitting just over 5600. Until the challenges came out I promoted to keep things interesting for myself. Now I'm aiming to get all my classes promoted the same number of times, plus I'll want to stop at a 'nice' number... won't likely stop before I hit 7500.

I promote because I use different builds and refuse to respec... because of that, my number will continue to grow, and really don't care for it... I believe its around 10000+

960.

I was going to leave it at 720 but one of my Origin friends wanted to promote for Retaliation and wanted us to have the same N7 number so I said sure whatever.

If I feel like torturing myself and doing the N7 challenge that number will change for sure.

Promoting for the N7 banner.
Used to be around 1000 so numskulls who valued N7 wouldna kick me on gold way back when I started playing gold.
It's got the operation promotions in it too and a few desperation resets.
Otherwise I really don't wanna promote at all after I get that damn banner.

N7 330.

Only ever promoted for the weekend challenges that required it and only enough to get the pack, as I don't see the point of promoting. So won't promote just for the N7 challenge.

I'll promote for the challenges when I finnish off the 200 waves project/solo mastery then I'll have the BotB banner, and just move along to just enjoying myself again, and do "200 waves of characters for fun of it" as when i start promotign I still have certain characters that will still read "0/200 and similar low numbers" as I secretly been doing 1 silver challenge at a time or 2 for fun of it, now that all the "specifric" weapon challenges but the Valk are out of my way I only have Pistol mdeals/SMG medals to go once they are done I'll just dink around with W/E weapon I want, and of course once I'm done with outsider/Commando fromt he "alien" page I'll be all set for the final banners\\

my N7 sits at 720, and has for MONTHS it used to be 420 till I was sentanced to promot "twice" for the "event" when I finnish the banner I'll even out my promotion numbers between each class for "fun" amd I guess "sience"

the end of this I'll have 2640 "N7 rank"
when I finnish the challenge I'll have 2520

and when I promote I don't promot 1 class I promote them "all" equally

A tad bit over 4400. I haven't been promoting as much as I use to, mostly because of (Failed) Platinum solo attempts and the such. Alas, it would appear that unlike all these other people posting.. I enjoy promoting quite a bit!

I'm at 450. Was at around 200ish a few months ago. Then I started playing again and ended promoting a bit. But I never really liked it much. I just prefer to have any class I unlock to be ready immediately. Maybe when I have nothing else to unlock then I will promote again to a good number. Maybe 750.

210. I like when it changes to challenge points in a lobby and people are surprised at how much higher it is lol. The main reason is I only play gold or platinum and don't want to waste time leveling up promoting characters.

The only way it's increasing is when all that's left is the N7 challenge.

5160, liked to see my name jumping higher at the leaderboard, people don't kick me out because of low rates, liked the challenge of being level 8 without equipment on gold. Then I got tired of it and just stopped.

Currently sitting at N7 868. I don't really focus on challenges, so I don't care how long it takes me to do my Promotion challenge. I simply promote to try out something different, since I don't like pressing my luck for Respec cards. I rather save those for something I know isn't working for me at all.

Only class I haven't promoted of late is the Sentinel. I pretty much know and have those built exactly how I will always use them, so there's no real need to. Plus it's handy to have a 20 around all the time in case I feel like hitting up Silver or a challenge comes around.

12991 at time of post, ima hit 13K in a lil while. I promote because it shows I've been playing, it shows I have experience. Some people choose to hide it (by not promoting, you leave randoms to play a mystery game of is he good or not), I wear it with pride and every game I play shows that my N7 means something. It shows that I've been playing long enough to be trusted and relyed on, no matter what level, class, weapon, equipment im using, I'm going to bust in as many enemy faces as possible to get the money and get the win. N7s of 3 digits just don't scream that.

N7 shows just how long you've been playing, challenge points aren't cutting it, bronze/silver give to much priority over playing gold/platinum for it to be viable, while N7, (even though some fools believe its even possible with a realistic approach) can't be faked unless you glitch. There is No N7 10K+ bronze player. But there is a 45K challenge points bronze player I see everyday.

360:
- Once, to see how it would affect the single-player campaign (I had expected to see my promoted MP character in the SP final battle or something... I was quite disappointed)
- The rest were for the bare minimum to get Commendation Packs

7,841. I just promote when I hit 20. One game of Gold with maxed Galactic Readiness gets me from 1-10 or 1-11 usually.

Already finished the Promotion challenge (all the challenges actually) so I don't really have any particular goal.
