I know it's a team effort but the competition is fun for me and in the end we all know it’s about personal achievement so why not try to compete on the leader boards as well as in game for points.

12991 at time of post, ima hit 13K in a lil while. I promote because it shows I've been playing, it shows I have experience. Some people choose to hide it (by not promoting, you leave randoms to play a mystery game of is he good or not), I wear it with pride and every game I play shows that my N7 means something. It shows that I've been playing long enough to be trusted and relyed on, no matter what level, class, weapon, equipment im using, I'm going to bust in as many enemy faces as possible to get the money and get the win. N7s of 3 digits just don't scream that.
N7 shows just how long you've been playing, challenge points aren't cutting it, bronze/silver give to much priority over playing gold/platinum for it to be viable, while N7, (even though some fools believe its even possible with a realistic approach) can't be faked unless you glitch. There is No N7 10K+ bronze player. But there is a 45K challenge points bronze player I see everyday.
Oh, you play all right. If only I could reach those ammo boxes to steal the grenades before you do...

So, let me get this straight... no one over 10k N7 plays bronze, yet you, as a 10k+ N7, play bronze every day, that's how you know?

Also I was something of a late starter, not really playing multiplayer until the Retaliation DLC came out.

After I finished the promotions challenge, I realized one more promotion would get me to N7 3000 even. Despite hating promotions and all that is associated with them by this time, I went ahead and did it. Now that I'm sitting at 3000, I keep thinking 5000 isn't that far off, and 5 is a better number than 3.
Anyway, why is your N7 rating what it is right now? Are you chasing a ranking on the leaderboard? Are you in the middle of the promotion challenge? Do you not care? Do you smoke a lot of the so-called "reefer"?
Before the October, my goal was to hit 1000. I hit that and kept going, but since the challenge. It's now at 2673 and I'm 5 promotions from completing that challenge.
I think once I complete it, I'm going to keep a few classes at level 20 and play Gold with them.

No reason why. It'd be a fair bit higher (maybe ~1500, not sure) if I actually promoted frequently, but I don't. 660 is a cool enough number for me anyways.

Ill add alittle water since your a bit on the thick side.
There is no(reasonable) player who has "reached" 10K N7 level by spamming bronze as a few people have claimed. While challenge points not only go nuclear, but cataclismic when you play on bronze/silver.
As a matter of fact, 95% of every "BotB" banner you see spammed bronze to get it. Even spamming Glacier platinum rocketing enemies for 20 min rounds, it would just took way to long for each of those "200 wave" characters.
Now you may not think I make any sense, but fact is, what I say gets proven every single day in pug games.

I can't even imagine promoting again. I would hate everything.

I assume you define 'reasonable' as whatever coincides with your e-peen size? And you'll have to provide sources for those outrageous percentages before calling them 'facts'... Oh wait, you're just pulling those out of your ass.
For someone who calls other people thick, you sure have a talent for burning yourself in every single post you make.

Hmm i see where this is going, Im not paid to entertain, so ima just leave this.
You promote, you look good, you don't you look like everyone else.
Example of a few N7s in a Gold lobby.
120 - Has just started last night, has level 10 Pirahna, wont have any clue wtf to do if shyt hits the fan, and WILL FAIL if
892 - Has been playing for 5 months, don't promote often but can hold his/her own.
120 - Has been playing since release, is also using a level 10 pirahna is a BEAST and can solo platinum with a predator 1, but wont need to, has everything at level X even a hurricane!!!!
23,984 - Has also been playing since release, has never played level 20, Is also a BEAST and is sporting 2 level X URs. Is ready and willing to tackle any challenge and will WIN WIN WIN!!
Notice something about those 120s? If you don't then there is no reason to explain.
In a lobby, anyone making any comparisons would notice there is a big "DIFFERENCE" between a few of those #s, if you can't see it, then enjoy being oblivious of it. Thats all I got to give man, I can't/wont help you.

All good points, but I'm sure you'd agree that seeing someone with a level 1 Soldier AND a N7 rank of 1 join a Gold lobby and instantly ready up basically tells you they're going to spend the match as a wet puddle on the floor, right?
To his credit, the newbie did manage a score of about 6000 at the end of the game. Trouble was, everybody else had scores of around 70 - 90k.

What a shame! When I see you post I know I'm about to laugh my ass off. Come back, Ronnie! I've got a dollar! Now, to reply to your points:
Whether you promote or not, you look like everyone else to me. All you're saying is "I'm an elitist!"
Examples? I guess % ain't all you can pull out of there, eh? Here, let me try and play the same game:
N7 7,500 - has been playing since release, maxed his manifest, sucked in match.
N7 8,399 - has been playing since release, maxed 3 URs, sucked in match.
N7 12,700 - has been playing since release, maxed several UR, grinded promotions on bronze and silver, sucks.
N7 4,700 - has been playing since release, maxed several UR, owns.
N7 120 - has been playing since release, maxed manifest, turns out he sucks on gold.
N7 120 - started recently, maxed no URs, good team player.
N7 120 - has been playing since release, maxed 3 URs, wipes the floor with everything.
Notice something about N7 ranks? Didn't think so.
But by all means, keep claiming N7 means something while simultaneously invalidating your own point in your own post. And maybe when you've pulled your head out of your ass you'll realize people grind for N7 ranks just as much as they grind for challenge points and that neither are a reliable way to judge someone's skill.
Oh, who am I kidding, of course you won't.

I have an N7 ranking of 390, accounting for one achievement and every promotion challenge to date.
Simple reasoning, no? (Although I am tempted to promote more to have one promotion for every character that you can get... 75 points of TMS per person isn't unreasonable.)
