No, the problem is that when players stunlock the enemy, the enemy is granted stunlock immunity for 3 seconds. We also can't stunlock the enemy while they're being stunlocked until they're dead.

I'm sure all of us at one point or another have been stunlocked (while being stunlocked) until the point of death. In which case, there is nothing we can do until all the damage is done. It's unnecessary, annoying and frustrating to say the least.

p.s. I'm only bumping this so that threads on stagger lock might one day become as annoying as staggerlock itself. In fact, one of these days, the first three pages of the forum should be filled with stagger lock threads until Bioware adresses it.


Why do you assume that I'm against the OP? I was just refuting one point that one person made that had nothing to do with anything you just said.


Sorry, I wasn't trying to refute you, (based on the nerf/buff/in between threads I'm pretty sure I'm on your side), I was just bumping the thread.

Best part of MP is you have options. Slow kits, you can use adrenaline amps which successfully refutes the argument of well when you use the old Turians blah blah

You have the choice to pick maps/factions. Going this route, there are many kits that just make the Geth look silly. You play U/U, well you just have to deal. Why you get extra XP. Same thing with soloing. This game wasn't built for soloing. You take your chances and quit whining.

Are Geth cheap? Sure. Can you make them look ridiculous? Yep depending on kit played, player ability etc etc. Very rarely do I get pinned down, but yeah it happens and it sucks. If you're getting stun locked all the time, then you should really learn about cover or stop soloing.

Yep, not fun, by my God do I ever love locking them in perpetual chain overload stunlock and sliding a bullet into their chassis one at a time... slowly with my Mattock... so that they have ample time to process the disruption it causes to their systems, of which I can only hope registers as some type of "pain" equivalent to their synthetic minds.

most other things (prime drones/marauders/etc.) are at least mitigated by the fact that they have movement restrictions of being human-size+ bi-peds who actually have to get to/around you. The bombers can swarm 2 right on top of your body and skillful play is removed from the equation. They remove your ability to react. It can be interesting that it puts you in a situatoin where you need team play to escape but since there's no way to have that without the massive frustration of being cornered alone and losing just because there were two bombers who can stunlock you for eternity.

There's a difference between being forced to react quickly and not being allowed to react.

I`ve started taking armored compartments when I suspect I`ll get geth. And I can usually solo gold with no amps. That says something. Image IPB

Lone Wolf challenge was only recently added to reward soloing, just like any challenge. With that said, you solo, you know the risks and cheap factions like Geth. The game shouldn't be changed based on a players choice for risky play.

Same with Pugs. You have a choice to beef up your kit, play with friends, or roll the dice with strangers. Again. The game shouldn't be modified based on that argument either.

Just to be clear, I'm not advocating change or no change. Simply that the game shouldn't be changed because someone gets stun locked when choosing to solo.

And if I`m FORCED to solo due to PUGs being completly incompetent? And whether or not lone wolf was added recently changes nothing in that regard, because it DOES exist. Arguing that it did not exist a month or two ago is completly unrelated and pointless.....kinda like arguing that you could just go krysae and OHK everything around corners with the airburst. I.e. THE LACK OR PRESCENCE OF SOMTHING IN THE PAST HAS<,AT BEST MINIMAL IMPACT ION THE PRESENT.
As for the kit argument, I really really don`t want to play destroyer every frickin game, or kroguard, or TGI, simply because Stunlock is so prevalent.

Ugh...hate stunlock...been a few times where I use a Medi-gel just to be instantly stunlocked and go down again...

If I ever die to a single, low-tier enemy twice in a row and need to use 2 medigel, I will check myself into a hospital because I obviously had a minor stroke..

An SE vs Geth is easy mode. Volus merc same. AJ carrying Falcon, always fun. Heck, alot of kits toting a falcon is fun. GE and Turian Sentinel, more Geth killers.

If you have to solo because of lousy pugs, again, risk you take starting the game with them. Prepare wisely.

Lone Wolf may exist, but again, the idea behind it is to reward 'skilled' players who took the risk. You don't even need to play Geth.

It's not, but it's a coop, and I have tons of fun saving someone that are being raped by stunlocks, it's like L4D, when you need to save someone that is surrounded by zombies, or stuck on a smoker tong or with a hunter over him. It's not fun to be f*cked up by enemies and become unable to act by yourself, but hey, that's the point of a coop, alone you will be raped and nobody gonna save you...

I'm with Gallowspole.

The game assumes that you will work in a team...It isn't balanced on solo play (if anything, the lone wolf banner is confirmation that you are NOT supposed to be able to solo....Otherwise, where's the banner for 4-person team. The fact that there's a banner for that indicates that Bioware considers it an achievement and NOT normal play).

I experienced my first stun rage today actually.

I never thought Geth were that bad, but playing Geth / Gold / Hydra, for the love of god I could not walk more than 20M without some form of projectile stunning me, failed on wave 9 as the rest of the team were having the same issues :(

Again, just because I choose to solo reapers does not mean that geth aren`t broken. The fact STILL remains that while pretty much every kit can do well agaisnt every other faction, the vast majority of kits are crippled agaisnt Geth, simply due to corner-curving stunlock. sycnkills at least require the enemy to be close to you. Hell, I wish they had given pyros and primes sync-kills as opposed to giving every geth unit the ROFLSTUN. The very fact that you can only name kits essentially DESIGNED to roflstomp Geth as being VIABLE agaisnt geth should tell you something. When one enemy faction makes so many kits unplayable due to sheer freaking BUGS, there needs to be some fix.
