Tallis

She did seem a bit Sueish at times and I didn't like the way how the game railroaded you into handing over the list of Qunari agents, but I chalk that up to the writing. Here's hoping she comes back in DA3 and be fleshed out some more.
For those who are all I HATE TALLIS/FELICIA DAY, the solution is simple; make her optional, either as a companion or a quest giver.
That's it. If you don't like her, just ignore her, and the ones who actually want to give Tallis another chance can do it, without removing her from the game.

"Look at her isn't she fantastic don't you just love how she can do every thing you can do and more but better obviously! Oh and by the way do you see that lock over there that your rogue should be able to pick? Well you cant! Just so we can make her look even more super duper awesome!" <_<

I just thought that was Varric being Varric, actually.MR_PN wrote...
So at the end of Mota Varric says that he thinks Tallis will show up again. This leads me to believe she will be in DAI as a companion maybe, or maybe just an npc. So im just wondering what other people think. Will she show up? If so, a companion or not? Also do you want her to show up? And also would you want her to be a romance option?
I wouldn't mind a cameo appearance, especially if it is linked to more Qunari action, a nice break from the templar/mage stuff. I would not want her to be a companion, nor would I want her to be a romance. I wasn't crazy about Tallis, but I didn't loathe her as some do here. For me, her bit in MotA was just fine.

Her creator played the character on web-tv. What would you have preferred the developers to have done, completely retcon her looks when she was put in game instead of retain the look she originally had for no reason? That's like saying Luke Skywalker is a bad self-insert for Mark Hamill in Star Wars games - of course Luke is going to look like Mark Hamill.Izana wrote...
Tallis is like a bad Self Insert Fic character. Her skills, personality, influense and screen time are a bit over the top and it annoys me. Not to mention how she looks exactly like her creator.

alistair never actually became a templar, nor did he want to.
His being sympathetic toward the Templars does play only a part in me rubbing my hands in excitement over having him replaced with the badassery that is Loghain as the sword-and-board companion (to be frank, I usually just leave the guy in camp as soon as I am able in favour of Sten); I won't go over that in detail here, however.
Now, concerning Tallis: people seriously compare her VA to Jessica Chobot?
Seriously?
Unlike that one, Miss Day actually did a fair job of it. And Tallis being Mary Sue-ish? Going that far, that standard could be applied to some of the other cast too - e.g. Leto killing an entire platoon of bounty hunters on his own off-screen just so, apparently.
The dialogue in DA2 in general seems rather too "modern" many-a-time, although that was already the case in places in DA:O, so I do not see how that is a problem stemming just from MotA. If it needs to be seen as one at all, really.

Very well said. And exactly as I feel.bleetman wrote...
The reasons for his (Cullens) particular viewpoint are, however, ultimately irrelevant to me. I can understand them. I can appreciate them. I don't give him a free pass as a result of them, however, nor do I consider him to be a "reasonable" templar, when he acts unreasonably.
As for Tallis, I would be very happy to see her return as a companion (or in any way really). I thought she was an interesting character with a unique perspective. And she happens to be voiced by the lovely and talented Ms. Day. A win all around if you ask me.
Edited quote to make it more understandable to those who did'nt read the entire thread

I'm still disappointed about how MotA ends if you demand to have the list, but that's a separate issue.

Gollum has wide eyes. Tallis has wide (if significantly less so) eyes. That's where the similarities begin and end. So, no. I don't.fdgvdddvdfdfbdfb wrote...

The thing is, those characters are there for a reason: to tell a story. Killing them off is just immature and foolish in my honest opinion. I'd rather have a Mary Sue-ish character than nothing at all. Tallis was entertaining and I liked her, I do admit that she has some flaws, but I want to see her back again.

I really, really don't want to see her again, but I don't doubt that we will since BioWare seems so enamoured with her. If she turns out to be a companion, I just pray that she isn't compulsory.
Agreed. It's not just BioWare, the entire industry seems to be obsessed with her. I didn't hate her, but I sure didn't like her. Please give me the option to kill her!

Why? It'll be contrived unless she's there to assassinate the pc because a destabilized Thedas would be easy pickings for the Qun, i see no point in Tallis taking the place of a new companion that could potentially provide some new insight about their country, culture, life experiece, etc. while she had a web series dedicated to her.Teddie Sage wrote...

That webseries is done and her character is still alive in the world, I don't see what the big fuss is about. She has a lot of potential to grow as a character and I support her return.
