I admit I never went and talked to him because he was gay.

Or Vega because he was so lame.

What the f...  I hope you don't do this in real life O_o Well, actually I hope you are kidding :?

Yeah I know, Vega's a cool character, maybe he got just turned off by Fredy Prince Jr's voice, that guy can be annoying sometimes

To be honest, I wouldn't have minded a heart symbol next to the relevant reponses that would trigger romance in the ME series. I'm in the habit of saving before talking to any crewmates just because.

This. I read a thread where someone suggested making the text pink.

Liara so ninja romanced me in ME1. I didn't want to be with her. I think ME3 did a good job with this since you have to go through a few steps to romance any one.  I undersand treading with caution having come from the previous games.

He's not the stereotypical gay guy so yea it was kind of surprising at first.

I think that's why a lot of people who do like him, like him.

He's not sitting there trying to redecorate the loft or gossip with Liara or constantly flirt with a male shep who's not interested.

He's just a guy. No big deal.

It's impossible to be Ninja-manced by Steve. The only way to romance him is if you kiss him on the dance floor. You can even dance with him (if you have no other romances) and it's not enough. My manShep danced with Steve and told him they were good friends before meeting Kaidan for lunch and cementing the relationship.

No....but I did get the impression that the game was just begging me to Paragon interrupt in order to be gay with him every time we had a conversation

Just avoided him completely after my first playthrough.

My Shep did the same, flirted with Steve, but picked Kaidan in the end. I liked the way they handled that actually. When you tell Steve you just want to be friends, he gives a slightly hurt look for a fraction of a second (as you might expect), then bounces back and cheerfully has a drink with you. Steve's much better in that regard than Anders, who's got a bit of a bunny-boiler vibe, frankly.

I knew he´s gay.

This, I knew Steve Cortez was gay going into ME3 ( I think there may have been some controversy on youtube with some a bunch of immature pricks hating on the Shepard/Cortez romance, needless to say word got around ) so I wasn't surprised to hear him say he lost his husband.

I will admit to being a bit shocked at how quickly and bluntly Cortez disclosed his sexual preferences, the way he just throws it out there in your very first conversation. Most of the gay people I know arn't obviously gay ( ie. they don't confirm to the sterotype ) and they don't advertise thier sexual preferences.

That is never going to happen. You get two paragon interrupts with Steve. One is to talk about the alliance cruiser and the other at the memorial wall where you just give him a pat to get him to pull himself together. Nothing that makes you gay with him.

I was like: "Huh. Didn't expect that."

I was hesitant when it came to picking the more colorful options, though.

This is the future where, being homosexual is as normal as being heterosexual.

Gotta be careful not to get forced into a romance for being a good person. I remember in Dragon Age II, I was being nice to Anders and BAM they kissed. Like what the heck, Nice =/= Interested in a relationship.

Wait, how did THAT happen?

DA2 had special heart options to activate a romance. How could you not notice the hearts :pinched:

I do think they could have made it where Steve and Samantha didn't go out of their way to let you know that they were gay. Straight people don't run around waving the "Straight Flag" like that. Sheeze. I think he would have came off a lot better had they used more sublety.

I knew that Bioware was giving the fans a gay relationship for Shep and since he was a new guy on the ship, I just figured he may be it and sure enough he was. A few of my friends had to do a double-take when they heard it though.

Seriously though, they totally should have made Garrus go both ways.

I mean, it's not like he finds Femshep attractive anyway, he's a total pansexual.

I don't think anyone just goes around and says "I lost my husband/wife." In the first 10 minutes of meeting them.

I don't expect it to not come up. It just seems a little awkward beceause the very next converstaion you have with Steve is him crying over his lost husband. I think they should have put a conversation between that and their first meeting.

That was odd. The fact that he was lost his husband, not so much.

I didnt think anything of it really. I was weirded out when Shep said something about the bed to Vega. I was like WTF? It sounded gay and my Shep is straight, seemed forced out of being a paragon.

I still don't know what that was all about, seemed like something they screwed up and didnt take out or something.

He's not just a guy.
He is very emotional, crying out loud in cargo bay.
He has a feminine look to him too, most notable the face.
He is male but that is about it.

I wonder who was the wife though.
