Actually, I think there are FemShep/Ash files too. I was told that, anyway.

yeah .. this game was made for the north american region .. and parts of the usa are not that open minded. i dont know how the canadian society ticks.

well .. they are not open in general when it comes to sexuality. they show exploding heads in games and movies - but a bare breast is "pornographic".
can you remember the female soldiers who were giving their childs the breast? the media called it a "disgrace of the uniform" i banged my head on the desk that day .. i mean .. its a mother, who is feeding her child. this happend to all of us.

well .. apr. 10% of humanity is gay. gay people are there, they have ever been there and they will always be there. people should get used to it.

For one moment only. It was nothing shocking considering the ME universe, besides Steve is one of the best characters to debut in Mass Effect 3.

I didn't like him personally, breaking down for the first time when I talked to him in mist of  war really got me disinterested in his character.

There are maleShep-specific Kaidan lines.

Really? That's interesting, I didn't know that. I'd love to hear them sometime, to see what they are.

nevermind then.

I believe I understand what EA's trying to say.

The Bible is against homosexuality, so if you follow everything in the Bible, you're not a homosexual. Your pastor, by being homosexual, is not following the Bible. No one's saying he's not Christian, but he's kind of contradicting himself.

Now I don't necessarily follow or agree with everything in the Bible, but that DOES make sense. That pastors beliefs, at least as far as homosexuality goes, go against what the Bible teaches.

the pastor of our community is gay - openly gay. everybody knows it .. he even has a husband.

well .. since he is a pastor, he is definately a man of god. christians who live by the bible can live a homosexual life. at least where i live.

That's flat out untrue, but this isn't the place for that discussion.

so .. our gay pastor - a man who devoted his life to god and got his ordination - does not live by the bible?

wow .. good thing i live i the country of reformation.

Yep. When my cousin lived in Munich for a few months she told everyone she was Canadian -- admitting she was an American was too embarrassing. I forget which idiotic witch-hunt we were engaging in that year. Might have been the Monica Lewinsky business.

what a ******* cliche.

to me, it felt natural that steve had a husband ... the situation was not awkward (at least not to me).

He was crying like a beetch while watching an overdramatic recording of his homosexual partner dying in combat private ryan style in front. At a workstation. In front of a dozen people. During working hours.

Yah, it felt very awkward to me.

Thank you, I agree totally.
It was a forced scene to appease a politically correct demand.  Just
like the suggestions that all possible LI’s should go both ways, it's comically
ridiculous.  What do people do when in "real life" they get
rejected?  Do they demand for politically
correct equality?

If one thinks that because a Christian is gay and that they are not following the Bible because of that reason and that reason only, there are many, many other things in the Bible that Christians do and/or don't do that would also signify that they are not following the Bible by that same logic, so let's not get so caught up on this one issue as the only defining factor and agree to disagree.

Lightning Cloud up there said it.

The Bible is not interpretive. There are very clear scriptures that...disapprove for lack of a better word, of homosexuality. That's just the way it is.

I say all this, when we don't even know Ash is Christian. THus this may be moot.

Well, the Bible teaches that an awful lot of things are bad. Some of those prohibitions are kind of silly. And the Old Testament seems to be shockingly weak on prohibiting stuff like genocide. (Pretty much what OnyxFuego says)
And with that, I better get out of the thread.

I'm pretty sure you're just demonstrating your own ignorance (about the game, accents, religious people, etc.), but this topic has gone way off course anyway.

munich is not germany! .. it is the capitol of the free state of bayern ... who is sadly a piece of our federation. even the franconians (who are part of the state of bayern) hate it to be called bavarians, just because bavaria annected them long ago.

when i go to munich and tell them that i am from bremen (i just have to open my mouth), i am the saupreuss (f****** prussian) - bremen has never been a part of prussia btw. bavarians = strange.

Really?  Embarrassed
about being American, that sounds like a personal problem.  Just means
that someone has listened way to much to the anti-American news.  How come
Americans are supposed to be embarrassed in other countries, and yet when nationals
come to America they have to be treated with kid gloves?  Then when any
country needs help, military and non-military, America is the first place
called.  Then when we don't help, we get ridiculed, and then when help we
get ridiculed?

To the post topic, I wasn't bothered or shocked. I already knew there were going to be gay characters, and oh look, it's Samantha and Steve. I felt sorry for the poor guy, losing his husband while the galaxy goes to hell. It's a shame you can only dance with him in a romance at the bar. I would have liked a nice friendly dance with him like Jack :)
