Oh, C'MON.

Anything coming from Soul Calibur or Final Fantasy should be left out of any "realistic women bodies" conversation.

I don't see anything unrealistic about her body. Unless you mean she doesn't look realistically fit for battle.

Too many gaps in the armour....

Regarding the armour.
The less shiny parts of the armour (the red coloured parts) may still be very tough and protective.
They might even be metal with red paint on them.

In fact this is pretty good armour by animé standards.

Have you seen Lightning's armour? That is typical animé armour.
Lightning's armour has way to many gaps and even has flesh exposed to hacking and slashing. Let's just say it's a good thing Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII is agile. If not she's in troubleImage IPB.

Yeah, maybe molten metal because I don't see how its possible to wear trousers made of solid metal. But then again, its final fantasy so anything is possible.

Back to topic, the physique I expect from a fighting woman that wields swords and wears heavy armor in medieval fantasy combat, even though shes already somewhat on the light side.

So, now I want a good reason why my pic has been removed, it didn't show anything that was against the rules around here.
Seems that mods are quite trigger happy today.

indeed, and here I thought you watched mma. I was referring to the fitness required not to collapse in exhaustion, not the size of biceps. ;)

^ that armour's really pretty, and forget anime even by game standards that's really comprehensive. there is NO SKIN showing. only thing unfeasible is the boob armour.

edit: lol

If it was serious, than you sir are an ass.

Relax, It was not serious on his part. All branches of the service crack jokes at each other. Male or female, if you put a Soldier, Marine, Airman, and Sailor in the same table in a bar, you will hear some pretty crude-sounding comments of a similar nature directed at each other, but it's usually all in fun.

While we all may not serve in the same branch of service but we all share the same camaraderie as service men and women and is not something that is obvious to those outside of that group of individuals.

Please note that addiction21 did put the :P smiley after his comment which is the same as :P, meaning a toungue-in-cheek comment, and no offense was taken by me. Come to think of it, I owe him one back when I think of one. Besides, have you ever seen the lovely shade of greem Army turns when we weigh anchor?

I doubt you need a PH.D in biology to notice that a skinny character who with no explanation, effortlessly swings around a 6x1 ft slab of steel with a hilt that looks like it could be Andre the Giant's femur bone,  looks off.

Warriors don't need bodies like that. They need to be conditioned to carry themselves through a battle. That means stamina. As long as you have the stamina it really doesn't matter what your body looks like. Although being paper thin is pushing it. But Fem Hawke wasn't paper thin and I don't think the Fem Inquisitor will be either.

Not this again. Without strength you can have all the stamina in the world, you won't be able to make blows with your weapons that make it through armor or to stagger your enemies let alone freeing yourself from an 210 lbs attacker when hes trying to wrestle you to the ground.

If stamina is all you need to succeed MMA fighters would look like those Ethiopian 20k meters runners or like tour de france cyclists.
MMA fighters have endurance to survive up to ten rounds of hard hand to hand fighting AND they have massive amounts of strength.

I think Xena ruined any hope at women wearing realistic armor in media tbh. Well, for the most part.

It helped that Lucy Lawless was so badass she didn't seem to need proper armor.

Actually, I dislike all insinuations of what a woman's, or even a man's, physique should look like.

Anyone who has spent time in the military knows that the largest number of men and women aren't ripped and muscular like someone who spends most of their time in the gym body building: they pretty much look like every day people. It is actually very few who actually look like the suggested images.

Finally, someone with some sense. People like the OP spend too much time watching movies and other media that portray soldiers and warriors as "super-humans" with a perfect physique. The pictures the OP posted are those of athletes. I don't know how he missed that.

I preffer aesthetic proportion, at least for the main characters. I enjoy it more that way, call me superficial. To be true, the combo is great charisma and beauty. I enjoyed more "DA Redesigned" than the original. Some characters in Origins looked too ugly (in character creator you can design Darkspawns, specially when you play as a human).

This could be an example of cool party for DA 3 (great charisma and strong personality, plus nice appearance):

In a Bioware game, it is very easy to know. Look at Isabela or Morrigan...
It is just a game, it doesn't need to be realistic. The purpose is to sell well, so "Boobs, boobs everywhere".

Sandahl Bergman aerobic conditions (in her best ages) look just perfect to me for a Rogue female. And Arnold Schwarzenegger is the definition of a Qunari Body

Hawke did not receive military training.

Hawke and Carver were conscripted levies, they did not get military training.
Most of the times they were just told to join the army and had to bring their own weapons and armor.

Peasants at that time were strong, considering toiling the field most your life would give you muscle, but they didn't get any military training other than "stab that guy."

How did this move from women to armor?

Anyway, i don't think we get that revealing armors (Xena, heh) as Inquisitors. But i strongly would prefer something over the top, and revealing then some "realistic" armor which some suggest(THAT doesn't belong into FANTASY game at all, this isn't history simulator). In fact it would be better if we don't wear any kind of plates and such, because its completely ridicules as Inquisitor to be constantly walking around dressed like soldier.

You going to market - dressed in heavy plates? LOL. Good thing would be if we could only switch armor and dress at home, within our room, something like Mass Effect had.

Seconded, my best friend's a jar head, and I'm pretty sure we haven't had even one conversation in the last six years in which I haven't mentioned that he cries every night into his pillow about his lack of a decent academy, awful haircut and any common sense, as well as a lot of other explcit and awful things that the BSN would probably not appreciate.  He, of course, is convinced that female soldiers say "Hua!" in bed and only became soldiers because they were scared to go into combat w/out the marines clearing the way first.  And you should hear the things we shout at one of our Air Force buddies when we're drunk.

It's a military thing.  It doesn't mean we don't love each other.^_^

Please quote me the ingame dialogue or codices that told you that.

I weary of people who cite examples from the real world, as though all countries in Thedas are expected to function in the same fashion.

Some problem with the way BW likes to make cutscenes and variable sizes interference. I think BW places too much importance in cinematics (and other things - cosplayers > players? Come on!)  when they are making games, not CG movies, but at least that is a minor annoyance.

You're comparing an athlete, who devotes all of their energy to a single field, to someone in the military? With military training?

I beg to differ.

Which Dragon Age protagonist was "in the military", "with military training"?

Warrior / Rogue Hawke... As well as Carver. They were soldier's in the Ferelden royal army

*rolls eyes at people complaining about "fantasy" armor not covering enough* you all do realize that there were entire armies back in the day who went into battle almost completely naked right?

And I also think it's amusing that there are so many experts on what a warrior's body should look like here.
