kind of unrelated to the OP's issue, but what is wrong with 2-4 people who make their own match and glitch in the game? I hardly find that an issue at all, especially for a co-op multiplayer game. Seems like you're only getting upset over people not playing the game the same as you.

From a player standpoint, I don't care what other players do if it doesn't affect me. Bioware, on the other hand, doesn't want you glitching to obtain easy credits because they want you to spend real money on microtransactions.

That's what I figured. I'd rather not waste my money on weapons and tech in a video game, even for one that I am as devoted to as ME.

And I've met people who think it's the absolute worst thing to glitch in a game, even if it's a private match between friends. It messes with the 'integrity' of the game and whatnot, or it's cheap or whatever they say.

I think you're being overly pessimistic. It used to be that every UUG was FBW camping behind the lower desks. When FBW was fixed I haven't noticed any obvious camping or farming going on at ALL in gold. There might be "easier" setups, but I'm not finding an influx of cheap setups in gold.

I know of at least seven more that are easily exploitable by any team who knows what they're doing, and I'm mostly a PuGger. If I can figure out one of these with people who refuse to communicate, then it's a give-in that others will too.

Trust me, you're fighting a hydra on this one. Cut one head off, and it just grows back.

Don't believe me? Chuck me a PM. I'll tell you a few of the camp-spots. There's a frickin' lot, too.

i didnt think people actually did this until i finally experienced this a while ago, it was frustrating and hilarious at the same time...mainly cause they really sat in the box...i'd be running around, look around for teammates, and they'd be in the box lol....wave after wave....

anyway, inrelation to the thread: i dont think it's a problem that needs to be addressed...even though i dont do it, if that's how people wanna play the game, so be it...

I know these things exist. What I'm saying is that none of them have been a major problem with the exception of FBWGG. Since FBWGG head has been cut off, the rest of the heads have stayed out of my way. I play Hydra a lot and I have NEVER actually seen somebody using that exploit.

Just because they exist does not mean they are automatically going to become as prevalent as FBWGG/FBRRP.

I see much more farming on Giant. The spot near the LZ which is also used for soloing.

For god's sake, this is basic tactics, people.

You always strive to fight your enemies on your terms. If you're good at CQC, you try to force the enemy into situations where your advantage is the greatest. If you're bad at CQC, you endeavor to engage from a distance. If enemies outnumber you and attack in a big horde, try to direct them into a narrow defile or enclosed space, such that their numbers work against them.

Only in the ME3 universe could these basic tenets of combat strategy be routinely circumvented:

We can't take cover in what's obstenibly supposed to be a cover-based shooter because we have at least 1 major "cover-killer" or cover-ignoring unit in each faction, as well as (usually) several which can decide, at any given moment, if your cover is going to apply or not. If you take cover in most areas, you're actually hindering yourself. Meanwhile, the game still uses this cover system for absolutely everything, including several weapons that function with reduced capability if used outside of cover. I choose to note with some dismay that there's been no drive to fix that.

We can't direct enemies into favorable locations for us, because some players find doing that "cheap," and so we have to lose favorable terrain like... Rooms with no exits. Because those were such absolute critical importance that we had to remove them. Oh, and anywhere we could potentially funnel enemies into a specific vector, because god help us if we could control the flow of a battle in any way, shape, or form.

And if people somehow do find some bit of terrain that they can hold and offers a tactically-superior position? NERF. NERF NERFITTY NERF NERF NERF.

No war was won without taking stock of an enemy's weakness, but it seems Bioware doesn't want us using common sense or grasp of tactics in a combat situation. No, dealing with people fighting effectively is just that important. Better to just nerf map layouts and complain about people using any advantage they can get their hands on, since that's what leads to them buying more magic space points, amirite?

Really? Basic tactics? No. No, no, no. There is nothing whatsoever that is tactical about everyone crowding into a box so they can be killed all in one place with no escape. The only reason that works is because you're exploiting a trick. It is not tactical. Tactical is mking good use of terrain, cover and a good team. Rio, for example. If you use that end of the map (NOT the box) you can have two snipers at the back preventing spawns and taking out bombers, dragoons, rocket troopers and ravagars from a distance, and two biotics or tanks at the front, meeting the physical attack and taking out stragglers. THAT is tactics.

Sitting in a box where, in reality, you would be massacred in seconds, is not tactics. It's just cheap and pathetic, and generally is a sign of players in the wrong difficulty.

I have had no problem with using tactics in this game. If I get overrun by a bomber, it's my fault for not spotting it and shooting it earlier.

QFT
Everybody who wants to farm Rio: Go on and ruin the game for everyone who wants to play legit, but don't hide behind simple excuses like "hiding in a cargo box = sophisticated tactical strategy like in real life war lolol". There is absolutely no reason to play Platinum this way other than the simple fact that this difficulty is not suited for you...

People lock onto the most common and easiest-to-use setup in the metagame for farming credits, which the game functionally requires. The second people started to figure out the Box on Rio - literally less than a week after the patch - it became common knowledge. Within a month, it was the go-to farming spot.

You cut that off, they'll lock onto another. They did before, and they'll do it again.

The best fix for RIo Farming is to host your own lobby so you can play what you want. Mind your own business and stop plotting to ruin other people's fun.

And who's going to join my lobby? Other players who look for real Platinum games end up in Rio lobbys because there are just too many of them.

Also, I don't see how you can put "fun" and "Rio farming" in the same sentence post...

I'm.. leery of removing ammo boxes. I suppose if any map can take it, Rio can. That place is a nadepalooza. But I still think it would be wiser to MOVE it OUT the box of of shame, and put it against the opposite wall... maybe move it to the side a bit so it can be seen (an thus fired upon) from a large portion of the map.

So, let them find another way to camp then.  Rio needs to be fixed.  Staying in a sync-kill immune box is not a minor exploit, it is a huge one.

You enjoy sitting in a box for almost an entire hour? Wating for the enemy to come for you? I see no fun in that. And if people want to earn fast, easy credits they should just learn how to speedrun Glacier. Oh but that's probably to much work right?

Playing 15 min. platinum speedruns for about an hour vs sitting in a box for almost an hour... Think about it people.

...And yet, using the box isn't reportable, like map glitching is. Strange that.

Aw, I use that ammo crate sometimes :(. I like to stick around those crates to pressure the spawn across from it, with all the pillars (since Pugs tend to all camp in the middle room).
I don't camp in the box of shame though, plenty of cover around there to move around.

This is why they need to spend more time on testing and patching there game...
DLC's are nice but its not easy to enjoy this game when all they do is fix there more recent mistakes.

Example:
They put time into changing up white base so ppl cant farm it but they still havnt fixed some
of the actual bugged out maps (condor) that are messing up this game.
There are too many issues that have been around for far too long and it seems like they
wont be fixed anytime soon, since they keep adding stuff (which is nice) but it just adds
to there work load of buffing & nerfing more wpns/classes/abilites. Making it harder for themselves
to focus on other more older issues.

We need:
Better servers.
Enemy glitches dealt with.
"Waiting on other players" issue gone.
Bugged maps fixed.

You know how much fun Reactor Hazard is?

Put doors on the crates.
Put the door controls in the center control room.

That's entirely subjective. Who are you to demand other people's fun to be wrecked?

Besides, looking at your manifest, you don't "speedrun" anything all that much. Funny that.

If anyone has the patience to stand in a small box for an entire match, they deserve the credits IMO.

Neither were FBW/G/G and FBG/R/P and they were still cheap and boring and was a nightmare to find a "normal" gold lobby. Thankfully Bioware realized it too and fixed the problem. I'm sure they would've done something about the closet of shame too, if it wouldn't cost 40k dollars to push out a patch.

I have no problem if ppl want to stay in the box for 40+ mins and have a very high chance of beeing wiped at the objective waves, they should be able to do that in private matches as much as they want.

However I do have a problem with the fact that it is basically impossible to find a normal Platium lobby of none of your friends are around and even if you open your own lobby it takes forever to fill with decent ppl. because you get hordes of ppl only used to and looking for the box of shame games.

Therefore I would like Bioware to make the entrance to the box higher so the Banshees can grap ppl inside, this would also preserve the ammo box that actually is helpfull...

You're not right, and statistics will back me up on this one. If you could check with Bioware they would tell you that since they fixed FBWGG there hasn't been a single gold farming strategy that's been used as widely as that one was. There wasn't an "easy gold mode" bandwagon after FBWGG.
