Sad part about Rio farming is that if the objective isn't to kill targets they normally fail or resort to missile glitching anywaysHendrix137 wrote...

That means nothing to the people who are having fun Rio farming. It's just your opinion. Why should they care?
You do realize that this is most likely an excuse for Rio farmers who don't want to admit that Platinum is too hard for them, right? People don't play Rio for fun, they do it to get the easy credits. Maybe there is one in a thousand players who truly enjoys sitting in that box for half an hour over and over again.
People always demand more maps, more gamemodes, more characters, more powers, more everything, but in the end the majority of people just play on the same map with the same characters using the same cheap technique over and over again, because they're afraid or too lazy to learn something new...
As I said, there is no reason for a player who is competent enough to play Platinum to use this farming technique.
Suggestion to BioWare on fixing Rio farming (Edit)

Has no one stopped to consider that changing and nerfing the maps will never stop farming and will only make it harder for good people to do solo runs? I mean seriously u cant possibly have an issue with someone soloing in a non-competitive game? ... can u?
No one who can solo plat needs to hide in the box.

13 pages (and counting) for this non-sense... People really have to blow up some steam...
There are sooooooooooo much more important things this game need fixing...

Players now know the game more than Bioware and will find another, more efficient spot.
Bioware opened the room in White and locked one in Glacier and people found Rio that is simple as hell and I'm sure that if the container will be closed, people will find a new map, even more efficient and quicker.
Let people farm if they like, find your group and don't go play in pubblic if the things annoy you, or play Gold solo.

Corner shooting and spawn management, among other tricks on the cheap and cheating AI.
EDIT: The funny thing is that speed running is the ultimate in farming. So, it's deliciously hilarious for people in favor of speed running to critisize "farming".

At least speed runners don't use cheap tricks to exploit certain things, like being immune to sync-kills. And the main difference is between speed runners and box-of-shamers is, the first can play any platinum game on any map. The latter the most of the times are players, who would fail on gold big time.

What you say is so very true, but many skilled people and teams that can extract on Platinum without problems, think that farming here and there is OK because the game is cheap and bugged...and it actually is.fabsmilee wrote...
No time to read past the second page, but i'll say this even if someone else did before : Players that can't play platinum in a regular situation can't make it through the objective waves on Rio. If you don't have some kind of forward defense to take care of smaller sized enemies, like phantoms and Geth hunters, you die eventually. It's not as easy to farm Plat Rio as it was FBWGG. I still have fun playing on that map, even though i can beat platinum when i'm lucky to find a good Pug team.
I don't think it's a real issue.
This game's gameplay is awesome but...oh, the bugs and cheap things...
Yesterday on Gold Ghost Hazard Geth I overloaded (upgraded to 6) with a Geth Engineer a Rocket Launcher climbing the stairs that go from the "pit" to the "house on the right" (coming from the LZ..., he didn't stagger and threw a rocket at an odd angle (around 60° from where he was facing) while climbing the stairs
On Condor a Banshee threw a warp that hit me while it was still at mid distance.
I dunno how many bug I've experienced in my nearly 500 hours of playing, or seen, or being told in forums/by friend.
I cuss a lot and...that's all, while some people that can acknowledge when their in game death is their fault say: "I had to use a medigel for a cheap death, so I'll farm and take some money from you Bioware"
My solution to avoid farming is actually fixing the bugs, so that the good players won't feel compelled to gamble to tie the cheap deaths.

Would that really help? I've never encounter such a game because I only Platinum with people from PSN Alliance Hazard Force. But it seems to be me that hiding a Geth Trooper Soldier and an N7 Paladin in that box which spam Flamer and Snap Freeze will kill all the things and doesn't require ammo.

No. Stop "fixing" **** that isn't broken. Who cares if people camp or farm or whatever? Bioware should be ashamed for forcing players to play differently (albeit the new White was a genuinely good redesign), and you should be ashamed for encouraging them to.
Obviously a lot of people care, just look at this thread. BioWare should be applauded for supporting diversity in this game (even though they do it for the money). Do you think they created a game with so many maps, classes, playstyles etc. just so that the majority of people can play the same **** over and over again? This is just sad. Public Platinum lobbys are a joke because of Rio.

How does it concern you? Your personal opinion about it fails to explain how others doing it affects you personally. If you repeat the "I can't find a non-Rio platinum" meme I suspect that's even more exaggerated than those claiming they couldn't find a non Geth White game. In fact sometime soon I'm going to test the claim by joining a series of quick platinum PUGs and logging the results.

There's five ammo crates in that small area at the one end, unless you're in the box I can't see it making all that much difference to normal players however, as I've said before, better to fix the broken things before you waste money on players manipulating game mechanics, you can continually fix maps to no avail from here to kingdom come but if you remove the reasons people resort to such means there is absolutely no need to.
The bugs and the glitches need priority, they improved the missile mechanism to stop the missile glitchers, it didn't stop them but how many times does anyone here press futily the ops survival package only for it to activate when you're squirming on the ground bleeding out?
A few weeks ago I tried Quick Matching for a random Platinum match, 3 times I got Rio and they were all using the missile glitch on top of that. Now I don't mind Rio farming at all, if you're gonna make it work you are going to have to be able to survive whatever the objectives are anyway and it's far more time consuming that speed running, so if you're boxing it you're earning it and as someone else mentioned in this thread having to listen to that Banshee wail every few seconds is like torture sometimes, even in regular random silver and random gold's which is what I normally play.

Whatever. No one has to spend their time as you see fit or give a damn about your opinion. Get over yourself.
When it comes down to it, I don't care what others do till it affects me. This includes having to quit from 5-6+ lobbies/games just to find one that isn't Rio.
I find it hard to believe you enjoy it too unless your practically braindead, I think completing a difficulty which is obviously too hard for you (based on how it's completed) , gives you a false sense of accomplishment which in turn makes you believe you are enjoying yourself.
Personally I don't see the point, farm same map enemy for creds to get weapons/gear faster so you can complete said farming method faster with your better guns. Since they'll probably have to go back to Silver anyway, based on my personal experience with people admitting to have farmed Rio in the box being dead weight on Gold.

Well, I've never really done the box trick much (it was an accident), but speaking from doing FBWGG back in the early days, I can safely say you're wrong.
My experience is this:
1st success: I did a Gold extraction!
2nd-5th successes: Wow, I'm getting better!
6th success: That was boring. Maybe I'll try getting out of cover next time I do this.
7th success: That was REALLY hard, but I beat Gold without the desks!
8th and beyond: I'm getting better for real!
I'm not saying that all players are like that (I'll never understand the mindset of those who just do farming setups indefinitely), but some like to use an easy setup to acclimate to a higher difficulty. To get a feel for the enemies, that sort of thing. Preparing for that day they can step out into the real world and play the game like a man.
We can't all just wing it on the spot.
