So, I'm thinking of starting a new playthrough for Origins to import into Awakening and Dragon Age II since I haven't done a playthrough like this since Dragon Age 2 was first released. I was thinking a Male, Human Mage. I'm going to start it soon, but I having trouble in regards to what choice I should make at the Landsmeet. I'm stuck between an unhardened Alistair, marrying him to Anora and killing Loghain or a hardened Alistair, marrying him to Anora and letting Loghain live. I am planning Morrigan and do the Dark Ritual and as such, Logain will survive the events of Origins.

I'm very caught up with this decision and can't make my mind up. If I let Loghain live, and Alistair is King, does he appear as King at the beginning of Awakening or in Dragon Age 2? Because I really would prefer him there over Anora. But Loghain is an interesting Character and I want him to get some more screen time. Can anyone tell me which is a better option and what the consequences of each choice are in the subsequent game and expansion? Thanks.

Alistair and Anora marry and Loghain dies:
Alistair appears in Awakening and DA2.
During the rest of Origin Alistair is (probably) pleased with you.
He's somewhat happy to see you in Awkening.
He acts the same to Hawke in both scenarios.

Alistair and Anora marry and Loghain lives:
Alistair appears in Awakening and DA2 and Loghain shows up in Awakening.
Alistair is pissed at you for the rest of the game. (You only get to see him in the throne room at the end) There he's started to cool down, but still thinks your a bastard.
In Awakening he's not really pleased to see you but he's getting over it.
Loghain shows up briefly in Awakening. (If you were HN he'd give you some father-in-law warnings :D) and tells you where he's headed off next.
I don't think there is any mention of him in DA2. Maybe, if you're lucky, he'll show up in DA:I (3)

My canon Warden married a hardened Alistair to Anora and let Loghain live. If you haven't done it, then I would do it and save Return to Ostagar for after the Landsmeet, just to go through it with him. He also has some revealing camp conversations.

And yes, if you make Alistair king, he does show up at the beginning of Awakenings. I'm almost positive he makes an appearance in DA2 also. The consequences aren't far-reaching at all, just a few mentions and a cameo or two.

Go Dwarf.

He will appear as king in both.

Oh, okay that's good. I was always leaning towards letting him live, so I really think it's a must for this playthrough. Thanks for the advice guys/
