Crysis 3 Official Trailer

So, Crysis 3 is coming out in a couple of months. I'm getting it, already preordered the Hunter Edition that comes with a free download of the original Crysis for whatever console you're preordering for(my case the 360).

Anyone else?

My reasoning behind it, I am an absolute sucker for archery. Being an archer myself, the amazing graphical quality of the game along with the way combat looks especially with the compound bow makes it a must-purchase for me. Plus, the game world is VERY inspiring as far as ideas go, so its practically a necessity for something else I'm working on.

Plus, as far as multiplayer goes, I'm getting tired of Cowadoody(didn't even get Black Ops 2) so I figure I need to try something fresh.

Twas curious who else is picking it up. Since it comes with a download for Crysis on the 360, I figure I might as well pick up Crysis 2 when I go to get my copy of 3. Maaaybe.

Let me post some linky links for clickity clacking.

Would buying it serve any purpose other than to make my computer feel inadequate?

The recommended GPU for high performance settings is a GTX 680. That's $500 to run a $60 game at full settings....

Yeah, this game is gonna look ridiculously amazing on consoles, imagine how much more amazing it'll be for our WELL BEHAVED PC BRETHREN?

I didn't play either Crysis 2 or 3 so I can't say, but my guess is it will be. Though the gameworld will incorporate elements of the original Crysis' gameworld and the sequel's into one very green New York City.

Graphical fidelity/quality can only get you so far, however.

Indeed. I hope the majority of gamers understand that one day and don't whine about the lack of capabilities a console will always have in comparison to PCs.

My feelings for Crysis as a whole are mixed. I'd bought the original and was notably dissapointed after all the hooplah about its graphics engine. Outside of the alien species themselves, I wasn't impressed with the visuals. The level design was huge, but most of it didn't feel particularly unique or interesting - a sentiment I shared with Far Cry 2. I'll admit it was a staple of the series that they should've kept in the original. The "maximizing" gameplay itself was the one trait I'll remember as the selling point, and a worthy reason to keep interest. I'd watched the playthrough of Crysis 2 and was more intrigues with the graphical quality. Other than that, it didn't do much for me.

I'm a fan of archery as well, but I'm not seeing anything that's going to be a strong motivation for 60 Dollars out of the pocket.

I bought mine to run Battlefield 3 back in March.

Hopefully they'll have something that's twice as fast by the time Crysis 3 comes out.

They do. The GTX 690 is basically two 680's slapped together as a Dual GPU card. It retails for $999.

The only hyper mega graphics game coming out that is worth buying a uber new GPU for, is Rome: Total War 2.

Crysis 3 can do DIAF. Especially if it's more like Crysis 2 than Crysis 1, or it's spiritual predecessor, the Far Cry series.

I know, but I've learned my lesson not to use any dual or multi GPU set up.

I'll just wait until they have a chip that's twice as fast.

Personally, I've never been interested in the Crysis storyline, which is what stopped me from picking up the games earlier.

Well, that and I don't game on PCs.

But with all the main releases on consoles now, I have them available to me, and I figure its only fair I give it a shot.

The one thing that's going to be weird though is that if I decide to get Crysis 2 the day 3 comes out, I'll have to play the downloaded original Crysis on my 360 first, then Crysis 2, and only THEN Crysis 3.

So its like I'm holding myself back. haha

Ahh, Far Cry 3.

Didn't play the game, but watched a little gameplay and saw the start and finish. Great gameworld it seems. Story's a little odd though.

Hope Crysis' story enraptures me a little more than that would.

I had a lot of fun with the original Crysis and the expansion for it, however Crysis 2 didn't even interest me. It seemed to be just another CoD clone but with the nanosuit. I'm still undecided on Crysis 3, but I'm not all that optimistic.

That's pretty much it.

The worst example was probably my Radeon 5970. Eventually it came to a point I just wanted my games to work regardless of the performance. Spending $800 on a paper weight isn't fun.

Did I mention the damm thing kept overheating in Crysis 2?

Ditto. It was a huge letdown. Not in the graphical departnemnt, but in gameplay, story and atmosphere.

And Crysis 3 looks like it will follow the trend. They already started the gimmick campaign.

Seems like the safe stance to take.

Been playing the MP in Alpha for a lil while, it's really good on PC at least. I'll be getting it.
