Relax, even if I do get the game it won't be till I pick up Crysis 3(and the download for the first game, which I'll play first anyway).

By the time I get the game I'll likely forget most of this. I'm not TRYING to remember.

What I know I WILL remember is that christ, Crysis 2 has a small weapon pool.

^Compared to Crysis 1, believe me Crysis 2 has plenty of weapons. The first had a grand sum of 11, I think. Crysis 2 has 17, which is enough. If you're watching the walkthrough and got this impression, much later on you get access to many more weapon variety and choices of attachments. Plus from what I just watched the guy playing seems to have no idea what he's doing. If you properly explore the levels, even near the beginning, you can find a wider choice of weapons. To get a better idea you should find a better walkthrough, rather than a blind playthrough.

I like this one though, because this guy's doing a Lets Play, so I have to focus more on what he's saying rather than whats going on around him. I'm naturally MUCH more of an investigator. I go everywhere, looking for everything. I'll still miss stuff, I'm no completionist, but watching him, I know I can get more out of it than he did.

Now if I was watching a playthrough with no one talking, THEN I'd likely have the game ruined for me, as there's nothing distracting me from what's going on in-game.

Did you count the same weapon but with different FIXED attachment (that you can't change) as multiple weapons?

Because that's how Crysis 2 rolls.

No, and what you just said is total BS.

And more weapons somehow make it a much better game? ? No offense but if I remember correctly in regards to attachments you could choose whatever you wanted in Crysis 1, in Crysis 2 you're not allowed to do that with certain weapons. The only way it could be done was through multiplayer, a part of the game that was certainly not worth the time, being a cheap CoD copy and all.

No. At no point did I say that more weapons = better game. I was simply responding to prince's statement that was a severe lack of weapons in the game, which there isn't. Cysis 1 does have more customization of weapons, true. No offense, but you clearly don't remember correctly, because you can customize the majority of weapons in the game, albeit some can be more customized with a greater variety of attachments than others. There are ones you can't customize, true, but all the weapons bar a couple can be customized to some degree.
You're also forgetting the ability to upgrade and switch between nanosuit modules, which was a new customization option that the first lacked completely.

Sorry but I distinctly remember that from Crysis 2. there were certain assault rifles that couldn't use silencers or shotgun attachments/grenade launchers. And to be honest, those upgrade modules didn't really make much difference or at least when I played I felt that they made no difference. Besides, Crysis 2 doesn't offer the same flexibility as Crysis 1 and in my opinion the enemies are not as challenging or smart as they were in Crysis 1. In my opinion Crysis 2 is simply just too easy and too boring.

Crysis- 23 weapons(if you want to include your fists) http://crysis.wikia.com/wiki/Weapons

Crysis 2- 25 weapons(if you want to include your fists) http://crysis.wikia....om of the page)

Crysis 3- Don't know yet

Still, as I watch this Lets Play, it feels like the same 4-5 weapons keep being found. Some new ones show up later but it just FEELS like a tiny weapon pool.

Would be nice in Crysis 3 if there's more weapons available at the same time along with a bigger weapon pool.

I'm still surprised that Crysis 3 is going to take place 24 years after Crysis 2. I mean, damn. It tells me that they want a lot of tie-in material to cover that time period at a later date. I wonder if Crysis 3 will briefly explain exactly what Prophet/Alcatraz was doing during that time period.

Only 11 of those are firearms that the player can use, the rest are either grenades/mines, or weapons the aliens use.
 Here's your clearer list.

Basically, Crysis 1 had one of each weapon type, except assault rifles, which had two types.

Dunno. Could be they just wanted to explain the terrain change.

Alright Lotion, we get it. You loved Crysis 1, didn't think too highly of the sequel.

No no, he can share his opinion like everyone else, whether its positive or negative.

But being repetitive is pointless.

Honestly when it comes to Crysis 3, my main problem isn't that isn't like Crysis 1, just that for PC it's way too demanding. I mean, is all that power really necessary to make the game good. I don't know who said it but I saw someone that said a 680 GPU is what is recommended for this game and to be frank that is way to expensive.

Lets not even start with RAM, 8GB as recommended, that's insane, if I remember correctly most games use 4GB max.

I don't think its so much "this amount is needed for the game to be good". Just that apparently the devs REALLY focus on visuals over anything and everything else.

I imagine I'd be miffed too if I had a PC that I gamed on and it wasn't adequate enough to run Crysis 3 at recommended settings.

From here, its hard to tell since I've gamed on consoles for years and stayed away from PC gaming after Age of Mythology(awesome game).

Just seems a little too excessive for me honestly. I like good graphics as much as anyone, but sometimes I think Crytek likes to make people's PCs jump out of windows.

Did Crysis 2 see any sort of serious modding efforts done with it? The Mechwarrior: Living Legends mod was actually one of the reasons I picked up the original and the expansion.

Hopefully Crysis 3 will be somewhat modder friendly like that, with multiplayer modes more like the original's.

Well, I imagine there's always gonna be someone that pushes it to the limit.

Especially if it's more like Crysis 2 than Crysis 1, or it's spiritual predecessor, the Far Cry series.

Ahh, Far Cry 3.

Didn't play the game, but watched a little gameplay and saw the start and finish. Great gameworld it seems. Story's a little odd though.

Hope Crysis' story enraptures me a little more than that would.

I highly doubt it.

While I enjoyed Crysis 2, the story was pretty weak.

And, atleast story wise this sequel doesn't even seem to have any exciting motivating factor for it to exist.

It seems to be based around the clean-up after the new york shindig. You know, the kind of stuff you can tell someone in one paragraph and they wouldn't have missed a thing.

So how is the game?
