Was better than expected. Hunter mode was fun for like 5 games. Pretty fluid gameplay. Nothin new though, also ran smooth at Medium for me

I wish the beta testers would ptfo though, i was beating my teammates by like 1000 on crash site captures

Didn't know what ptfo meant. After reading the rest of the sentence I pieced it together. haha

So there's a multiplayer beta so far out on 360, PS3, and PC. Only two game modes and two maps available for the beta, but its alright. Tried it, really have to get used to it. Not like the stuff I'm used to.

And the game comes out in...just under two weeks.

It was more fun to play as a Hunter so I was letting myself get killed right away in order to join them.

My friend and I were playing together and we almost NEVER spawned as Hunters. I didn't mind, though spawning as a Hunter is fun.

Lol, troofz.

I have one more gripe with this game, Quake style speed with the shotgun class and the 1 shot with armour is wayyyyyy OP. I tried it myself and barely died! Hopefully fixed by release. Still don't know if it's a purchase though.

Might upgrade my AMD card and that comes with a free copy!

My feelings for Crysis as a whole are mixed. I'd bought the original and was notably dissapointed after all the hooplah about its graphics engine. Outside of the alien species themselves, I wasn't impressed with the visuals. The level design was huge, but most of it didn't feel particularly unique or interesting - a sentiment I shared with Far Cry 2. I'll admit it was a staple of the series that they should've kept in the original. The "maximizing" gameplay itself was the one trait I'll remember as the selling point, and a worthy reason to keep interest. I'd watched the playthrough of Crysis 2 and was more intrigues with the graphical quality. Other than that, it didn't do much for me.

I always found that Crysis didn't live up to the graphical hype, too - oh it certainly could cook a graphics card, but turning settings up to maximum when you could just led to... meh. Ditto Crysis 2.

That said, most games hyped as having "awesome graphics" seem to be like that - not even that great on the graphics. This was not quite so pronounced before games were being made with the XBox - or worse the PS3 - in mind.

The thing that really ruins Crysis for me though, is the gameplay. I can't put my finger on it because the series seems to do every single thing right - graphics, mechanics, pacing, level design, weapons, voices and characters, everything - yet it somehow manages to not... be that much fun compared to most games.

The original Far Cry is (for me) ten times the game Crysis and Crysis 2 are, up til the stupid last few levels, that is.

One thing that annoys me, don't know if it'll be in the full game as it is in the beta, but the armor perk that makes it so your character goes into armor mode the moment you take damage.

It makes killing people with the bow take two hits, which is hard if they're constantly moving around.

If that perk is gonna stick around, it should probably be one of the last ones you can unlock, not right there from the get go.

Yeh, specifically with perks like that I think they should work in the other direction. IE you can use that perk untill like Level 25 where your good enough at the game not to need it, stops experienced players from having an advantage over noobs too.

Literally everyone has it on. Its on by default, you have to take it off yourself(which I doubt many people do).

Great single player experince awaits us!
For 5 hours long (more if you are cloaked always and only walk...)

"CD-Action Mag known for reviewing big games early has reviewed Crysis 3 and gave it a great 9 out of 10. a user from Crydev forums named “pcrysis” published a few details about the review as you can see below:

it takes 5h to complete game in normal mode with sidemissions
there is something cool after credits
probably driveble tank
ending doesn’t exclude future dlc
last two levels are really big
facial animations better done than in LA Noire
you can see the cover of magazine calling it a MEGA REVIEW because its 8 pages.

overall 9/10
gameplay 9/10
video 10/10
audio 8/10"

Here is the link!

Edit: After a better inspection, don't know to trust or not this magazine...

Seems to me they blazed through the campaign so they could have the first review out there.

I'm not even gonna pay attention to it.

The game's out as of today. Pick it up if you so desire.

I've got it with me now, though I have The Witcher 2 coming to my home tomorrow so I'll likely hop on that, stick with it for however long it grips me, then get to Crysis 1(since Crysis 3 comes with a free download of the first game), and THEN finally get to Crysis 3.

Don't know when that'll be. But still, excited for new games. :P

Sure! Who knows, I may end up playing both of the Crysis games I have first just to get them out of the way(I won't rush through them, I never do that) since I'm sure The Witcher 2 being an RPG will keep my playing it for a longer period of time.

We'll see. But I'll definitely review it(in depth) when I get to sit down and play it on my surround sound gamechair.

Bah, I think I'm gonna hop into Crysis 1 and eventually get to 3 before TW2, so I guess you'll get your review sooner rather than later.

Still making my way through Crysis 1(before I get to 3) and I'm getting closer and closer to the end, but I want to point out a special bit of circumstance that made me super happy-

Crysis 1 has two achievements I want to point out-

30G Team Raptor- Kill 400 enemies
20G It's On Like General Kyong- Defeat General Kyong

Turns out my 400th kill was Mr. Boss Fight

Awesome circumstance was awesome!

Now, continuing through the game so I can get to Crysis 3 and post that review eventually.

Alright, immediate impression of Crysis 3(some of it in relation to the first one)-

Good. I'm not very far in as I've just made it into the now forested NYC, but I have to say, its quite beautiful for a dilapidated city. NYC happens to be my hometown and where I was raised for about a decade so its cool to see it in such a state.

The textures are nice, at least on Psycho's face. Characters definitely look better if he's anything to go by.

The Predator Bow is fun as hell to use, but as I said in the OP I love archery so call me biased. All of my kills thus far have been either by an arrow getting shot at an enemy or by a behind the back stealth kill.

Will touch on it again as I get farther in.

Gonna touch on that a little now- judging by mission related achievements, yeah the game is short. So far, I'm still very early into the game but I'm taking my time, only using the Predator Bow, stealth kills, and melee if I get caught. I've only used a gun to kill things once and that was against Ceph when my nanosuit was being jammed.

You only have nine carbon tipped arrows for the Predator Bow(you have 3 of each specialty arrow{3 types of specialty arrows}, only the regular carbon tipped ones have nine as a max amount of ammunition).

Because you only have nine, if you're planning to use the Predator Bow as your main weapon, you absolutely need to pick up your arrows from the enemies you killed with them as well as off any surfaces they may have penetrated if you missed your target. This means I've been very carefully moving around the map, looking for cover, tagging enemies and other things, then slowly going to work taking everyone down.

This game isn't going to take me forever to beat, but it will take me some time. Much more than five hours.

In other words, the game is only going to be short if you want it to be.

Beat the game not too long ago.

Interesting feeling. I liked the game, didn't love it, but liked it. Beautiful as hell is the best thing I can say about it.

Some other good stuff is Psycho's interactions with...well, everything. A LOT of personality there, more developers should look towards it to give their characters some life.

Ending was...well, you'd have to experience it yourself. ;)

In the end of the day, would I recommend this game? Maybe. I wouldn't say YES YES YES or NO NO NO(Kane and Daniel Bryan much?).

I'd say its up to you.

Well i certainly wouldnt recommend it if you are mainly a singeplayer person like. Completed the game in 5 mere hours (which is third in a row after Aliens and MG: Revengeance...) with not much replay value.

Cryisis 1 >>>>> everything else.

It is for me the best FPS I played. The one I returned to the most. Must have made 8 playtroughs ..or more.
Best atmosphere, best gameplay, beest feeling...and ironicly best story.
I HATEHATEHATEHATEHATE what they did in C2 and C3 with the story.

I'll say this much-

As beautiful as Crysis 3 was, I certainly did feel the first game had something over it.

As for which is the better game, I'll give it to C1.

Meh, I won't rush to get this game. I loved the first Crysis. I still enjoyed Crysis 2 thanks to the soundtrack. But Crysis 3 looks like just lacks in every aspect. Weak story, overly short campaing, dumb AI (from what I hear). Eye candy alone won't convince me to get an game.

^ That's my issue with this franchise, it seems like every time they make a new one the only thing they do is to make the graphics better and then everything else gets worse. From C1 to C2 the setting got worse, the story got dumb, the main characters from C1 are all dead or missing and last but not least it became more like CoDsis than crysis.

I don't understand some people's obsession over graphics, doesn't matter how good they are if everything else is lacking then what is the point of having SUPER GOOD EXPLODING PC graphics.
