Hey BSN.

I never played ME3 a second time, and have refused to buy any of the DLC or other Bioware products since, and pretty much dusted off my feet. However, after playing some X-Com i've half decided to reinstall the game, and do a second playthrough with the EC installed.

My first playthrough used my Liara playthrough, and ending hatred, auto-dialog, and cut corners aside, I found it underwhelming how often there was no new conversation to be had with her, and how despite LotSB you had to more or less re-start the romance. It felt less like a continuation than a fresh and brief thing.

If I do motivate myself through to see the brat again, i'll be using my Tali romancing playthrough. However, its its just around four or five conversations and a few small snipets through the game, which is what the Liara one felt like, then i'm honestly not sure i'll bother. I'd mostly be doing it for the character interaction, and frankly I recall it lacking the first time through.

Really, it's not as good as Liara's. The Liara romance has a few amazing scenes that the Tali romance just can't match. But, yeah, Tali is great. My favorite one.

In terms of the amount of content, I think Tali gets slightly less in Mass Effect 3 than Liara and Ashley. I've never bothered to actually count lines of dialogue or conversations, so I could be wrong, but that was my impression. She does however get more content than any of the ME2 LIs that didn't make the ME3 squad.

I won't address quality of content, since that just boils down to personal preferences. Two people can have similar playthroughs, and completely disagree.

I was quite happy with them if you dont count the face. That was just a disgrace.

These sorts of things depend on personal taste more than anything. In terms of screen time and interaction it's elegantly handled, maybe one of the more complete romances(I think there's 2 )  :P

I personally think it's great, but like I said, that's me.

average

None of the romances were handled nearly as well for the finale as they should have been

It was probably one of the best romances, Liaras wasn't that bad either, but it probably helped her case that you had a lot of interactions with her even if you didn't romance her so if you did romance her it feelt "longer" and more eventful.

It was fine other than the face fiasco. Tere was no reason for Bioware not to finally give a face to the Quarian people... other than a lack of imagination, of course.

Aside from the horrendous photoshop, I think it was nice. The tease talk aboard the geth dreadnought was funny too.

I really don't understand people complaining about how much content there was in it, because, seriously, compare it to ME2. A couple conversations in the middle of the game, a short scene before the SM, and that was it. In ME3, it changes nearly every interaction with her, has dialogue on-mission, and even affects one of her talks with Javik (love that evil Prothean laugh).

Honestly, this was one of the few aspects of ME3 that didn't disappoint me when comparing it to the previous game. Okay, aside from the awful photoshop, I guess..

A better comparison would be to compare it to Liara's romance arc, who got pretty much all the attention.

Well, I haven't seen it myself, so can't really say, but the OP's comments seem to claim the opposite.

Either way, I consider Liara's writer pet status a whole different issue.

It works better. A Tali romance was my last play through. Because she shows up late in the game, her dialog doesn't seem that brief. The whole Dreadnaught mission with her has flirtatious banter. I don't think any other romance gets their own mission.

I thought it was handled well.

Tali is a nice character...but the romance was average. Her character while loved by many fans, was usually quite late to get. In ME3 the lack of special "Date" is disturbing. The face while good looking was wasted potential. It would be so much epic win if only we could get in game model on Rannoch or during romance scene. Also the fade to black...It felt empty. In ME2 you could see Tali pounce on Shepard with the mask visor lying there. In ME3 the romance was lacking this special something, especially if you compare it to Liara romance.

Let's just hope for Romance DLC or any DLC that will add something to fill this empty hole.

Hey it's not like we Talimancers waited 5 years for big reveal and posted a lot in Tali thread to prove it....oh wait. We did. But we still got better treatment than Jackob or Thane fans...thats a double ouch.

Yea, but that's strategic.. Becuase now we know at least that Jacob and Thane fans... (moreso Jacob than Thane) have just said "see you later" to BioWare....

Tali has been around since ME1... She desereved better.

Much Better.

Hell, Allers got a in-game model... LOL TALI MANCERS!

So very true. This Allers thing hurts the most. Bioware had A LOT of fanart to use, they had a lot of fan feedback and they really failed with this. Seeing as some people created their own photoshoped model in 5 minutes really is a kick in the balls.

Truth be told they didn't even bother to create rock texture for the rock Shepard gives Tali... Allers ate a lot of resources...

Well...we can still hope that Shepard is indoctrinated and if puzzle theory is correct then after all DLC we will see Tali on 3D model and even the invisible rock. I even hope that we can kill catalyst with it.

Besides the photo, Tali's romance is very well done in ME3. It has quite a few scenes that are romance specific along with a tone of unique Romance dialogue during missions adn scenes that are not romance specfic. There is never a moment where romanced Tali doesn't feel like she is, well, in a relationship with Shepard.

PS: Do not mock the invisible rock. The invisible rock with a worthy gift: for if used correctly it can be a powerful weapon. No one will see the invisible rock coming.
