I'm boring too... I always play FemShep (and female characters in general in RPG's).  I tried a BroShep once to expand my ME experience but could NOT get into it.  I'm so used to Jennifer Hale's voice as Shepard, and well, relating more to a female protagonist (being female myself).  It would be worth it to romance Tali or Miranda, though

I had the reverse issue with trying to play a Femshep. My advice would be to really roleplay the character compleely differently for your other Shepards; as doing so means the different voice actor and the differnt gender feels less out of place or wierd then if you were roleplauing them somewhat simularly.

For example, i normally play a synical and somewhat sarcastic paragon Shepard (with a tendency to go a bit renegade when pissed off, so is probably closer to paragade.)

My Femshep I am now playing is super renegade, mostly as a result of her colonist background having left her with serious psciological issues. She is very ruthless and antisocial, unintentially being rude and abrasive to most people she meets. Though I do plan for her to slowly become less insane and ruthless as the series progresses as a result of the possitive influences of other characters, and will likely end up being renegon by the end of ME3.

Ahh, good idea. I mostly play Paragade FemShep's so perhaps a Renegon BroShep would make for a easier switch. Nice. Hope Tali likes Renegon's

Yeah, the idea of her giving Shepard something for his cabin was cool. I just wish that BW had taken the time to give her an actual face, not some photoshopped thing from the internet. I don't have a problem with what the face looks like, I just wish the players could've actually seen her face, if you know what I mean.

And I think at the end of the day, that's the major issue.  It's not REALLY about the stock photo (as Bioware reps had correctly noted, the amount of video game imagery that comes from stock photos is quite large), but that was the extent Bioware went with it.  It was VERY anticlimatic.

If I had to wager a guess, I suspect that Bioware had no intention of doing ANYTHING with Tali's face and leave it a mystery, but at some point near the end of the development cycle, they were convinced that to do nothing would lead to an incendiary ****fit from the Talimancers, so they hastily slapped together something in the hope that it would slake the thirst.

Well, that does remind me that there is an odd glitch where if Tali is Shepard's LI, you still get her romance scene, even if she dies.... not that anyone who romanced Tali would ever do such a thing.:crying:

I thought the romance was great. The only thing I wasn't fond of was the stock photo that they didn't replace. That was a bit silly. Especially since quarians have a similar biology to turians (mentioned numerous times, with Grunt adding perhaps the most clarity with his knife comment). Though I explain that with Tali being a massive nerd and doing a 3D photomorph using a human female to see how it would look. The actual picture is something we don't get to see! Damn teases.

Other than that? I thought it was pretty great.

Actually, it was noted that unsuited Quarians most strongly resembled humans on a superficial level (the major difference being "what passes for an ear").  That's one thing I'm rather surprised they remained consistent on, since it seemed like a bit of a throwaway portion of one of the novels.

Wait, she comes back to life to do the romance scene? I guess either A) Shepard was so mentally broken by seeing her commit suicide that he had a waking dream that was all in his head that felt so real that he just went along with it and put himself into denial that she ever died, or B) her love for him is so strong that her ghost never passed on and her ghost came to his cabin to try to comfort him. Not sure which is sadder, Shepard going so crazy that he's hallucination her and is actually talking to and having sex with a nonexistent person, or that her ghost came back for him even after he doomed her entire species.

I would of liked a little cuddle time with my quarian during the "love scene." I just didn't feel the same time was really contributed to it like the others (I don't hate it by any means). But like a couple more lines of dialog while they were sitting on the edge of the bed or during the moment Tali got behind Shepard and up close with him. I can think of other things I would of loved to of seen but its overall still a good romance, heck I really consider it the most meaningful because I don't feel like I am making this shallow choice of "Lolz getting with the hot chick with the "Big upgrades"

The description of the Quarians in the book was actually deliberately vague, because Bioware had not yet come up with a facial design for the Quarians. All the book stated was that their facial structure was more or less humanoid, but that by no means made them unique. The Drell for example also have many humanoid facial features, but no one would say they look exactly like humans.

Unfortunately those that wanted Tali to look exactly like a human pounced on that passage, misinterpreted it, and created lots of really bad fan art. In the end, they got their wish.

One of my sisters did that about a year ago. Said Tali was too clingy.

Romance scene bug was weird.

Wonder what would have shown if it wasn't bugged. (Is that fixed?)

Ug, wow. I just... had to kill Legion. That was horrific.

Since I 'rushed' to the Ranoch, I didn't have the Para/Rena to to make peace between the Quarians and Geth, even though I did everythign else 'perfectly'. I'm sure many know whats happens, but for those who don't let me enlighten you.

Legion goes completely berserk when you tell him not to upload the code, and lunges at Shepard, dragging him to the edge of the cliff - and brutally strangles him and hangs him over the drop. Tali saves you by stabbing him with an omni-knife, and then the game makes you shoot him three times. And I don't mean in cutscene. I mean in Renegade Interupt for each bullet. It felt... terrible. (Though i'm unsure if you can just not do it, since he had been about to kill me, I didn't wait for the encore.)

Now, I choose Destroy as my ending of choice, and have never really held any great love for the Geth or EDI or been behind the idea that a machine is alive/has a soul. But still. Actively putting three bullets into him felt horrible. It was like putting down a loyal pet after it catches rabies.

On the actual topic, the Tali scenes thus far have been nice, and I didn;t find the 'picture' too jarring. Aside from knowing its an photoshop'd easily found stock-photo, it looks okay. Though I think i'll use Gibbed to up my Paragon, though I suppose in the end it doesn;t matter as from Meta i'm choosing Destroy. I forget, is whatever the Geth do to speed up Quarian adaptation to Ranoch done by the time you trigger the 'Destroy All Robots' button?

You don't have to use those renegade interrupts. With Legion, as I understand it, the scene works better emotionally if you don't. If you were dealing with the Geth VI, however, you'd WANT to use the interrupts. It's the difference between Skynet and "Does this unit have a soul?"

Paragon/Renegade doesn't make a difference with the Peace outcome. Both Tali and Legion must be alive. Tali must be an admiral. Their loyalty conflict in ME2 must be amicably resolved. Destroying the heretics helps, rescuing Koris helps, you must complete the Consensus mission, and you need a high reputation.

Nothing really major, yeah they help speed up the immune systems but they cant ensure they breath the same air as everyone else right away. Both peace between the two and just siding with the Quarians will ensure a seemingly perfect destroy ending, so you got nothing to really worry about in terms of how the ending goes. It doesn't on my end though but i'v also sunk a lot of hours into my Paragade.

Also I always pull the trigger three times on Legion but this is because my canon Shepard dislikes Synthetics, even EDI doesn't do well with him. If you're an organic than my Shepard is fairly the common paragon good guy, but if you're Synthetic its whole other story. So I ultimately didn't feel bad at all for putting three rounds into legion, only felt bad that I couldn't aim for the optics.

The thing is, the game itself with all the dialogue and all that's happening is hard enough to get right, the ending could have been better. I can see how it would be hard to get in even more variation for LI's.
Most games strike this right out of the game content unless they go for a completely railroaded approach where the character always romances the same person and it's part of the main story.

If you haven't done so already or have already completed that mission, bring Tali on the rachni mission. While this piece of dialogue is not romance specific, Tali says/does something very funny on that mission.

Besides that, there is a very good variation on the talk with Tali outside the memorial following thessia; thugh I beleive said convo only happens if you have Javik and you talk to her before you deal with Javik and Liara;s fight (after that Tali is talking to Garrus about if it would be better if she or him tried to go talk to Liara)

That and the drunk scene of course gets an added line.

PS: Make sure you have atleast 3100 EMS by the end of the game so that the best version of destroy is aviable.

I did the Rachni one. :) I re-loaded after Gibbing myself extrar honor. This time I managed to save the Geth, for what little time they have left, which I suppose is worse in its own way. Now, they are more advanced.
