If the Mage Rebellion has a face, what sort of person do you think they should be?

Whoever replaces Anders will have to distance themselves from all of the backlash from Anders, without sacrificing or abandoning the effort of protecting and fighting for the freedoms of mages.
My guess is, if Anders is alive, he will be a very strong ally that will be an advantage for the mage movement. The person who replaces him will probably be weaker and less effective for the mage movement.

Anders would be a ghastly leader. Volatile, short-tempered, arrogant and unwilling to negotiate.
Blowing up the Chantry did nothing but kill the one person of influence that was actually interested in a peaceful resolution.

Volatile? Yes because of Vengeance, but he manages to control that part of himself if he is befriended by Hawke. Short-tempered? Yes, again because of Vengeance. Arrogant? No. He didn't even consider himself that important. Unwilling to negotiate!? Okay that's absurd, the ones who were unwilling to negotiate was the Chantry and the templars. The Chantry wanted everything to remain the same and the templars... well they were commanded by a mad woman so... Negotiation was not an option for both of them.

No... She wanted everything to remain the same. Anders and I gave her a chance, but she refused.
Anders is the best suited to lead the mage rebellion to someone who is pro-andrastianism. Why? First because he experienced the Circle of Magi. Second because he is the host of a justice spirit... Why is that good? Because any sort of a just society will be best made by a spirit who is justice itself. And third because he has the power and ideals suited to lead a mage rebellion... Sure he's not as powerful as the Warden-Commander or Hawke but he's powerful enough. All of this while being an andrastian himself.
Of course I'm pro-Tevinter so he's not good enough for me.

They were cursed by Zathrian, a mage, through blood magic. It counts.
Unless one of those werewolves is a mage, I don't see how they count.

I thought it was a mage corpse possessed by a denizen of the Fade.

Which involves tempting demons and even if it works, it leaves the subject's emotions completely out of control which makes them easy prey for said demons.Enigmatick wrote...

So, if the mages try to restore all Tranquils, that actually works in our favor since all they will do is release an horde of abominations on the land which will sway public opinion towards the templars.

I fully suspect the Mages will either make an agreement with the fereldan Werewolves that survived, or recreate the curse to use against the Templars.
As for a face of the rebellion, I have no idea.

Personally, this is my favorite. it really helps breaking their morale, the fact that even a being on infinite love despises them from birth. Therefore, I propose that this become mandatory reading material for all new infants admitted into the Circles.BouncyFrag wrote...
