My first actual Gold solo attempt after playing roughly 300 hours of MP

On Wave 10.
After finishing the 2nd device objective of my game, my 1st objective was a hack.
And I never solo. I'm quite confident I can, I just never wanted to play God knows how long being chased by screaming Banshees' Warps following me across the map. But come on. I didn't even know I could be disconnected playing alone (at least, it didn't cross my mind, and hasn't happened to me in awhile).
It was initally just testing my build for the N7 Shadow, which was not an SS or ES build, but a shotgun build with those skills as utility skills. The only consumables I brought were level 1-2 ones, coz I know it was a test. I enjoyed playing when I realised I just played nonchalantly through the first 6 waves, and said hey, why not try and finish it?
That's why. And the most annoying thing is you're still actually connected when you leave the game after you were "disconnected".
Never soloing again. I personally just don't find it fun, but now I have extra reason not to want to. I'd rather have failed miserably than been disconnected.

But thanks, I didn't even like my build, it was kinda cool to know I could've considering my build was pants. No duration and no Melee Damage on TC (I clicked them in the wrong sequence, and am now out of power resets). I also had a Shotgun Amp V equipped haha. 675 health without duration was a nightmare.

@Teratoid
Ouch. Do you lose your consumables though once you use them, or is it like the credits and XP in the match where they're only given (or officially used up in terms of consumables) at the end of the match?

Don't use what I did. It was a test character, and I didn't want to bother people in Silver, and I messed up the character to boot. But if you want to know still:

What the build should be is: For Tactical Cloak, Duration, Melee.
But if you want to solo Gold, especially for the first time, I'd recommend a different Infiltrator, with Duration specced in TC, as it helps with objectives. It does come down to your playstyle though, I just assume that infiltrators would be the easiest to solo with.

Yep. They're gone, and your profile seems to remember what you spent even if you were DC'd during the match. I wasn't using spectacular amps, all level 2s (surplus equipment, basically), but it is annoying to lose them for no reason.

Kroguard + Reegar + Geth. No skill required.

I've seen strong recommendations for the Turian Ghost Inf for solo Gold, as well as for the Krogan Vanguard. I love the Ghost--I use it in many of my squad-based Gold matches--so I may attempt a build for that one. The TC seems like a huge boon for devices.

How would you spec the Krogan vanguard?

Along with the Kroguard, the Ghost is also one of the easiest to solo with. TC and stim packs make survivability very easy, not to mention the ability to dodge, Overload as well to incapacitate lesser enemies and the insane damage output make short work of most enemies. If I were to do a TGI build for solo, here's what I would personally go for: http://narida.pytalh...ighterPackage5/ I'd also use Incendiary ammo so I can set off fire explosions with Overload.
As I said I have never soloed anything over Silver though, so I'm sure other people would probably have better suggestions. This is just how I would play him.
Firebase Giant against Reapers would likely be the easiest for the TGI. Look for some videos on Youtube on soloing, there are loads, and try and pick up the strategy for the map, especially for objectives.

Here's one possible build. Specced to keep your rage up all the time. BC kills will count towards keeping your rage active.
Throw whatever attachments you like on your Reegar: Shredder + barrel is an easy way to do it. Incendiary or ArPen ammo, to increase its damage further. Use HVB if you like, but make sure you're prepared to deal with 8 seconds worth of cooldown on your BC (which isn't all that bad, given how tanky you are).
All in all, tonnes of shields, loads of DR, and piles of dead Geth.

As God intended it. I can't imagine the speed with which the Reegar takes down geth. Does it go insane with disruptor ammo?

I haven't tried it. I doubt one could tell the difference, to be honest. Literally two "bullets" fired (as in two out of your ammo count of 22 consumed) can strip the shields from a Hunter, and two more to kill it outright. I'd prefer Incendiary or ArPen to deal with all the armour one encounters.
