Why should we blame the devs for what happened? Why don't we blame EA for making ME3 a rushed product? Maybe the completed version of ME3 was going to the pinnacle of gaming history. We'll never know, thanks to EA.

It's kind of depressing, honestly. It's obvious the ME 3 story section is far worse than the DA III section.

Read it, I'm hungry now.

I notice most of the posters here seem to be dodging all responsibility for what they post with a "It's not my fault! It's all becasue of [insert scapegoat here]."

You are responsible for what you post, just as you are responsible for what you say in real life. If you say nasty crap to other people, and than go "Well it's not my fault I said this, it's his fault" than basically you are saying you have no control over what words you use or how you use them, and that someone else controls everything you do so that you need 0 responsibility for what you say.

Nothing is more annoying, to me, than someone who says or does horrible things, and than turns around and plays the victim when called on what they do.

This applies to some people at bioware, and a large portion of the bsn, along with an even larger portion of the internet.

Wait a sec, I just thought...how was the romance discussion board worse than this one that it had to be perma locked? If this board causes the devs so much stress, why wouldn't they do it to this one?

I'm not advocating that action, just wondering what the constituents for the romance board were worse than this one.

A civil war was started over miranda's black girl ass, and it spread to a lot of other threads there.

Seriously though, I feel like maybe starting a nostalgia thread now where we can just talk about the good old days. :)

I remember when I used to get into great discussions with EternalAmbiguity (now known as EntropicAngel) and DeanTheYoung on the ME3 boards before release. Then there's the thread drive to get ME: Deception rewritten. That was surprisingly civil and fun to be a part of. (For the most part) Bo's epic troll threads are worth mentioning too, though that might have been after ME3 came out.

But BSN. BSN has changed...

BSN might be a "toxic environment" right now and I can relate to how developers feel about this, but they should keep in mind why this happened in the first place.

The sickening people are not constantly hating because it's fun, but because they were deeply hurt themselves. People just tend to get very cynical if you treat them like ****.

You don't want to get insulted? Then just stop insulting others.

I wasn't around during the war, but I heard some mirimancers imploded the entire board and split into two seperate groups. Also something regarding Tali's thread.

This place is a Disney movie compared to the Witcher forums. When they aren't talking about politics, they bash on BioWare. Every thread there turns the subject on how BioWare the freaking devils.

I'm a big BioWare fan, and two weeks there made me feel like I was siding with the Archdemon of something. Had to leave there ASAP before I boycotted BioWare games for good.

And no, that isn't a good thing, thankyouverymuch. It's a terrible thing for someone who enjoys BioWare games no matter how mediocre/good/bad they are.

Serious folks, why is this toxic atmosphere even present at all? We either don't like something, or we do. The people at Bioware did their best to meet our expectations. Yes they didn't meet all our expectations, but you can't force them to comply to a million different desires from an even greater number of fans. It's just not possible.
The fact that some fans are still spewing toxic garbage is insulting for the fans who aren't and it gives all of us a bad label.
Personally, I think that if you don't like what they did, you should go play another game, sell your old one and let other people who did enjoy the game (you so obviously hated that you can't shut up about it), continue playing the game.

We dutch have a saying; "Laat iedereen in z'n waarde."
"Leave everyone in their worth"
So stop harassing the Writers, producers, etc. And let them focus on their jobs.

True enough..But for people who spent hundreds of hours with their Shepards..you think they are going to just lie down & swallow the :-

=Rachni queen
=Cerberus suddenly becoming OP without proper backstory
=Starbrat
=Fed Ex Delivery side quests
=Forced deaths with no way to save them
=Plot armor
=Forced defeats..

You think people will just lie down & take it all... ??!!

It's not the first time they messed up like this. DA2, SWTOR...This is the 3rd time..We have a proverb :- "Once bitten, twice shy"..

Something BW has not been able to grasp...

Mirandamancers split apart after there was a war about, apparently, whether people should point out how sexy she is, or ignore than and focus soley on her personality.

Said argument spilled into, as far as I can tell, the other threads as well, like a mold or plauge.

Mods than shut it down.

Some believe the virus was allowed to cultivate so that the thread section would be able to be closed down. I think those people are conspiracy theorist, but it's not my place to say for certain since I wasn't involved in it.

Uh... in case you've been living under a rock for the past few years, Bioware is an organ on EA now.

I can't blame the devs for avoiding the forums.  Personally I couldn't handle the type of insults that seem to popping up here on a somewhat regular basis and they're right, it is inexcusable to attack a dev personally, especially when your knowledge of them is limited to their role in developing a game.

However with that said the higher ups at Bioware laid the foundation that led to where we are today when they choose artistic integrity over fan feedback.  Keep in mind it doesn't excuse or justify personal insults but I think it's fair to say that this once rabid fanbase where Bioware could do no wrong and rely on a swarm of fans to go after each and every troll is now discouraged and passive.  The broken promises, the refusal to offer an alternate ending even as paid DLC, artistic integiry, it all adds up

Now they're looking at 3 underperforming projects in Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3, and Star Wars The Old Republic.  The 3 games they had before that were Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age Orgins, and Mass Effect.  It's just not the same company.

The sad thing is Mass Effect 3 can still be what we thought it was going to be if they make an alternate ending that ignores the red tape of artistic integrity and only relies on a combination of fan feedback and the creative minds of the writing staff.  Sadly a part of me is still stupid enough to hope for that even though I know it's a huge waste of time.

To sum up, theres plenty of blame to go around.  The trolls need to realize the devs are people, while Bioware needs to understand how they're coming across to the fanbase and why after 10 months people the more reasonable part of the fanbase is still upset.  I don't know if I qualify for the reasonable portion of BSN, I'd like to think I do but at the same time I wonder if I'm just contributing to the toxicity thats so prevelant here.

I swear the years go lower and lower. Next we'll say that BioWare has been a part of EA all along. And their partnership with Black Isle was a farce to cover up the constant whining of Aries' wings.

I can't help but to think of the great leaps the human race would make is some of the posters here would put this much energy to the progress of the human race or their jobs.
