So I just started a new DAO campaign and I'm noticing that as I progress I seem to be given some epic weapons. I don't think I had them when I first started but now in Lothering I have the longbow Sorrows of Arlathan, the longsword Blightblood, and the mace The Reaper's Cudgel (which sells for 340 gold :o). I don't remember this happening last time. Anyone know what is going on?

They're DLC items from finishing the other campaigns - Darkspawn chronicles, Leliana's Song, Witch Hunt and Golems

All the items you mention are unlockable bonus items from various DLCs. When you unlock one of these, they will appear in all your subsequent playthroughs. You can read more information here.

hmm, OK. I thought they might be DLC items but I didn't think I would get them so soon. I could sell The Reaper's Cudgel and have no money woes :P

You get them from the beginning but you won't be able to use all of them (due to stat requirements). Note that you get these in Awakening as well.

Yeah i sold the The Reaper's Cudgel for 340g and just began the expansion pack and have it again. It sells for a helluva lot more than it did in Origins. I now have over 780g and i've not even left the vigil yet.

Feels like cheating in a way.  That said, i did have to work to get it so i'm not gonna feel too bad about having all the cash.
